‘Bosch: Legacy’ Recap – ‘Cat Got a Name?’

Progress. That’s all fans of crime dramas want. Because they dedicate hours of their time to reading or watching this type of story and as long as there is progress on the case in question, they know they made the right call in dedicating their time to that particular story and that’s why Bosch: Legacy on Amazon Freevee is such a satisfying venture, and such a beloved show. Because week in and week out, it makes progress in the cases it presents and rewards the audience in the process and well… progress is top of mind today, largely because the next episode in this phenomenal saga… takes the time to reward the loyal fans of this series in quite the lovely manner.

Because two lingering cases on this series, which have been steadily moving along… were pushed forward in quite the dynamic and satisfying manner in ‘Cat Got a Name?’ For instance, Maddie’s search for the serial screen cutter/assaulter that was working her beat… finally paid off in spades. Because the LAPD poured resources into the area to try and find the guy and find clues regarding him and well… Maddie was able to find his luchador mask, a move that could allow for forensics to pull valuable data and evidence from it. The kind that could in fact, be used in court when and if they catch them and… she may have inadvertently discovered who has involvement in this matter. Since a simple phone call to an inspector of sorts, revealed some odd behavior from the man… leading one to wonder what he knows and how close he is to this. 

But while that have to wait for another time, it was still incredibly satisfying to see this case move forward and remind us how this show rewards us, and the wonder of progress didn’t end there. Because the Whitney Vance case was also blown wide open in some surprising ways. For Bosch was preparing to put everything together regarding the will… so that Vibiana could finally inherit her millions and in doing so… he came across something quite stunning, with the help of some fellow gumshoes. In that, it appeared as though Vance didn’t die of natural causes and after a conversation with Ida Porter, and a closer look at the will he was sent… he was able to ascertain… that she was the one responsible for his death and this new will, and he was right. For she did indeed confess to ending his life early in the hopes of giving him peace, and in the hopes of getting her own piece of the pie for years of service, and well… that wrapped up another loose thread in this case while another one… unraveled in a scary manner.

Because while Bosch was putting two and two together, he and Honey were working to throw Vance’s wannabe heirs off the track. All so the DNA evidence would remain quite safe, but alas… their work was costly in nature. Since the assassin hired by the company took the time to burn down the facility where they thought the DNA had been taken and to make matters worse, they got to Sloan and made him sing. All so they could find Vibiana and end her before the opportunity for her and her son to inherit that massive fortune could come to fruition. Which in turn led to quite the cliffhanger ending. Wherein Vibiana and her son were racing about their apartment building to find shelter from an assassin that is hellbent on completing the job and well, hopefully Bosch can arrive in time before all of the incredible progress made here… is wiped away with a pair of bullets. 

However, while we wait to see what comes of that harrowing ending, we can bask in the wonder of one delightful and satisfying tale. Because it was genuinely satisfying to see all of these cases move forward and even see the newer one’s progress as well. Since Honey has the LAPD spinning their wheels with that pending lawsuit and Bosch is also narrowing in on who might be responsible for the death of that beloved and kind doctor and well, you simply cannot go wrong with a crime drama that is utterly hell bent on giving its fans what they want, and all this does is compel us to continue the journey. So, we can see how many of these stories can be wrapped up in the season one finale of this delightful and refreshing crime drama. Until next time.
