Ask anyone what they would do if millions upon millions of dollars fell into their lap through the lottery or inheritance and you’ll get back some fascinating answers. Since some will speak to how that would motivate them to immediately quit their job and do whatever they please, simply because they would finally have the money to do so. While others will speak to how they would be eager to use that money to embrace an extravagant lifestyle and enjoy the good things in life at last. Yet there are some, who would see that kind of money as a burden of sorts and would instead opt to make themselves comfortable and secure before using that cash to help others and leave not a dollar behind legacy wise. But while those are fascinating answers for certain, the fact of the matter is… we simply don’t know how we would act if given the chance to enjoy riches untold. We would simply have to decide in the moment what that money would mean to us and really, that particular scenario is top of mind today… largely because it served as one of the big focal points of the next episode of Bosch: Legacy. For ‘Bloodline’ saw Harry Bosch finally sit down with Whitney Vance’s heir, a woman named Vibiana, and of course… reveal unto her that she was the granddaughter of one of biggest businessmen in all the land, and if she were to take the DNA test and claim her rightful place as heir… she would stand to have enough money to buy a small nation… or perhaps help others with those vast riches. Which was quite the incredible decision to make, one that Vibiana really had to ponder upon. Because at the same time… this was blood money. The kind that killed countless innocents including her father. But in the end, after great thought… she really did come to understand what that fortune could do for others, and she agreed to go through the claim process. In the hopes of building a beautiful legacy and well… it was fascinating to watch a person struggle with what we believe to be a simple decision and kudos to the show for going that route and injecting a little realism and honesty into something that is oft considered a dream. But of course, her decision was not without risk of course. Since the folks at Vance’s company had discussions about doing something drastic about this news and of course… Sloan is still popping up where he isn’t wanted and no one knows where his loyalties lie, but him. However, while it was fascinating to watch this play out and see major progress take place with the Vance case at last, there were more fascinating storylines to be found in this tale. Such as how Maddie and Honey took polarizing sides in the shooting that took place in the last episode. Since Maddie was doing her best to be a good cop and do right by the situation since a gun was found in the car. Whereas on the flip side, Honey was privy to the shadier details of what went on, such as the outright entrapment that took place here. Which in turn motivated her to choose the side of the family and represent them in a wrongful death suit against the Los Angeles Police Department. And what makes this so fascinating is the conflict that now looms on the horizon between Maddie and Honey. Since it is obvious the sides they’ve now taken has put them on a collision course of sorts, one where morals and reasoning will be tested. Plus, Bosch made a little progress on the deceased doctor’s case, and it seems a dirty cop might be involved in this mess and well, in the end, all of these juicy and engaging storylines, made for one compelling episode. One that was obviously transitional in nature and designed to set the stage for the finale, but that’s just fine. Because we know that this series is going make every single moment pay off in spades and well, that particular bit of knowledge, just compels us to continue the journey post haste. So, we can see what will become of the Vance fortune and see if a longstanding and healthy friendship and mentorship can survive this latest trial and tribulation that has befallen the City of Angels. Until next time.
