Over the course of the past couple of weeks, we’ve sung some serious praises regarding the new Disney+ series, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and rightfully so. Because it has done the impossible and given everyone a sense of awe and wonder they haven’t experienced since the first time they settled in to watch a Star Wars story. Not to mention, the series is just plain fun, and enjoyable from beginning to end, and well… we aren’t done singing praise for this show just yet. Simply because the next episode in this series, took the time to add another wondrous surprise the fabric of this story, all courtesy of an unexpected detour in ‘Can’t Say I Remember No At Attin’. For this particular tale saw the Skeleton Crew, seemingly return home. For they came out of hyperspace above a world with the same green barrier as theirs, and the ship was quickly locked into an autopilot course, which indicated signs of life and civilization. But alas, once the crew landed, all they found was devastation and a badly broken world. For somewhere along the line, the people of this planet, split apart and became feudal in nature. To the point where endless and generational war was now in play, and of course, the crew was now caught up in it. Because in order to understand what happened here and to potentially find a way home, they had to fight in this war and showcase their worth. They didn’t want to, but they had no choice and that led to some powerful moments, all of them courtesy of Neel. Because the longer the crew trained under the guidance of the faction they were conscripted into, the more Neel was able to be himself and showcase how a little kindness goes a long way. Because he noticed there was great suffering on this world, and a struggle for resources, and he saw no need to do anything but be kind and that had an impact here and offered up some lovely lessons for all of us. In that, kindness costs nothing, and we should pay it out as often as possible. Regardless of the darkness we face. Of which there was plenty, since the mission was at hand, and our young heroes were about to be tasked with so much to just find their way home. But thankfully, they didn’t have to fight, because of an unexpected and logical heroic act brought forth by Jod. Who basically used Wim’s Republic credits to solve the situation in a peaceful manner. Because hey, money talks. But it did de-escalate the situation, and it did allow for our heroes to step into the Supervisor’s Office of this world and learn the names and coordinates of the various other ‘At’ planets that made up the group of hidden worlds mentioned last week, and sadly… their information was incomplete at best. Since someone destroyed the coordinates to At Attin, and that someone we learned, courtesy of a brilliant idea from Fern, was SM-33. For he was ordered to blast those coordinates so that no one else could go there but SM-33 and his old captain, and there were other safeguards put into place as well. Such as a directive to cause harm to anyone smart enough to override SM-33’s memory protocols on the matter. Thankfully though, Jod stopped that before it could get ugly, and well… what mattered more here… was that this episode, helped build a grand mystery for our heroes to solve. Not just getting home mind you, but the mystery behind these ‘At’ worlds. Because clearly, they were of serious significance to the Old Republic, enough to remain hidden away, and now we simply must know why and how they managed to be abandoned and forgotten when Palpatine reformed the Republic into the Galactic Empire, and well… creating a grand mystery four episodes in is no small feat. But this show has pulled it off and left us counting down the minutes until next week’s episode. So, we can see… what other surprises await the Skeleton Crew as they work to unlock the mystery of these hidden worlds and find their way home. Until next time. Watch ‘Skeleton Crew’
