Ask any parent out there what shocks them the most about being a parent, and you’ll get back the same, fascinating answer. In that, they cannot believe how quickly their little ones grow up. As though time begins to move faster the instant, they hold their baby in their arms and well… there’s merit to that answer. For truly, children just seem to mature and move into new age brackets in the blink of an eye, and it really does stun us through and through, that one minute, they’re just making noises and soaking up the world, and the next… they’re graduating school and preparing to take on the world and apply the lessons they’ve been taught. Which is why we also hear to cherish those years and spoil children in the right ways when the moment applies. So that they have warm and lovely memories for the rest of their days and well, the wonder of children growing up is top of mind today, simply because it was featured in the next episode of When Calls the Heart on the Hallmark Channel. A feat that ‘Dancing Teens’ accomplished by way of a big moment in the town. In that, Allie decided that for her birthday she didn’t want to go with her dad’s plan. She wanted to have a full-on dance party. One free from adults, where she and her pals could just enjoy the evening and live in the moment. Which the majority of the town got behind, minus a few salty individuals. Who expressed long standing worries about teens and how being left to their own devices can be trouble. Plus, it also wounded Nathan since it was kept from him for a time. But a good talk with Allie, and the town coming together to let the dance happen… brought forth that reminder… that kids grow up so fast. Because just like that, Allie was no longer a little girl, wherein she would let her dad call all the shots. She found agency, she made that decision, and she pushed for others to follow a path she decided. Which is what we see when children reach that perfect age between teenager and adult, and that made for a powerful and sobering sequence for certain. One that really did speak to the fact there will come a day where our little one will suddenly be more than the apple of our eye. They will be a person that is ready for more, ready to change everything with their hopeful nature. But it also informed us, that we should not feel sorrow when it comes. Because when see them taking charge like Allie, it means we raised them right, and they’re ready, and we can cherish the wonder of the journey as they teach us a thing or two. As was the case with Elizabeth having to learn a new dance or two. But while that made for powerful storytelling, this particular episode had so much more to offer. After all, we saw the intrepid governor be a true man of the people and connect with a constituent in a way he did not know was possible. Plus, Rosemary was finally able to dig into that story and see what she could learn about this age old, unsolved case, and that was entertaining and engaging to watch. But truly, the other major plot line of note in this story involved Angela. Who felt left out in this story and was worried she would always be an outsider. But her father made sure to point out her value and worth and the majesty she contributed to the town, and the world. That helped her for certain and influenced her to attend a college for the blind… to know that sense of belonging. All of which made for an amazing story. One that all of us could relate to. Since we all have that little one in our lives that one day, isn’t so little, and that does always surprise us and move us as it did for so many here. But of course, that’s what this show does best, it resonates with all of us on some level, and it was nice to see a series express that and, in a way, prepare us for the future of the show. Since clearly, there are teens that are about to become adults and forge their own path in this story. But while we wait for that big day, we can revel in this wondrous story about the majesty of family and how each moment really is as precious as they come. Until next time. Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 204 of ‘Darby and Joan’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
There are a great many reasons that so many of us tune into the magnificent Acorn TV series, Darby and Joan. For some, it’s the about the adventure. Since we are treated to stunning visuals of Australia that take our breath away and soothe us. For others, it’s about the unique cases this show offers up. Because every single mystery Jack and Joan dive into is unconventional. But above all, the biggest draw of all when it comes to this series, are its stars and the characters they play. For Bryan Brown and Greta Scacchi are simply electric on screen and add incredible depth and life to Jack and Joan, and of course, let loose and shine, acting wise, every chance they get, as evidenced by the next episode in this journey. For the next chapter in their adventures brought this duo to a winery. To think and reset since the trail went cold regarding Jack’s case and that allowed for some magnificent moments come forth for Jack and Joan and in turn, Bryan and Greta. For instance, this was a story that saw Joan just live in the moment and just be herself and in a way start to find herself once again. Which was all beautiful since it speaks to how eventually we heal from loss and find the beauty of the world once more, and Greta sold this with incredible honesty, and truly lifted our spirits in doing so. Because we’ve all wanted Joan to find some measure of peace and happiness again and she is so close at last, and we are all here for it. As for Jack, well… we will dive into his journey in just a moment, because we need to talk about how there was real fun to be had in this tale and with this mystery. Since there was a fire at the winery, one that was motivated out of a combination of grief, and revenge, and it exposed an illegal gambling operation on the premises. One that was working to take over the winery and just ruin the original owners. Which prompted Jack and Joan to have their own Casino Royale moment. Wherein they made their way into the casino on the property, and just went nuts, and had fun in bringing down the villains. Which brought about a lot of hilarious moments and a generally fun vibe, and it is good that the show snuck this in. Since it counterbalanced the ugly stuff. Because Jack was laser focused on getting answers in this episode and was pouring over evidence and really thinking upon the case and who would go this far to keep the case a secret. Which helped him to think outside the box and realize that there was likely some dash cam footage available regarding the demise of his nemesis, and he was right, and that led to a stunning revelation for certain. In that, the person that is tying up loose ends, is nothing short of a ghost. Since the footage revealed that Sophie happened to be alive and well, and faked and lied about her death to stay in hiding. But the time has come for her to risk it all to keep the case’s secrets hidden, by any means necessary… it would seem. Granted, that doesn’t mean she crossed that line. But clearly, she isn’t too concerned about the outcome and there’s nothing to say she didn’t do this to keep everything a secret. A move that does put Jack at hard risk here. But while we wait to learn more, we can celebrate an amazing tale. One that let the actors and their characters shine and truly, Bryan Brown deserves his own round of applause here. Since he sold Jack’s obsession here with a cool and calm that would make the most infamous investigators in television proud, and he really did relish his James Bond moment in the casino. All of which reminds us of how amazing it is that this series landed these talents, and it will be interesting to see what other great moments await us, as season two rolls along. Until next time. Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 304 of ‘The Way Home.’ To revisit the previous episode, click here.
One particularly fascinating aspect of the human condition that we don’t talk about enough… is how much is happening around us at any given moment. Which we likely don’t talk about because we have so much going on in our lives and are laser focused on getting we want. But the fact of the matter, is that the world really is bustling, and so many are searching for meaning or celebrating love or grieving with sorrow, and that is just fascinating and overwhelming to know. To the point where even the world of stories avoids looking into it to not leave readers and viewers with too much to process. But we should talk about this, and we should recognize this. Because it gives us perspective and allows for us to offer grace… since then we are acutely aware that others are on quite the journey and deserve kindness. Which is why the Hallmark Channel series, The Way Home is of note. Simply because this show explores that truth about our world and never was that more evident than during this week’s episode. For ‘I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song’ showcased how people are constantly looking for something in the moment. For instance, Kat was looking for answers regarding the Pond and whether or not her father knew anything about it. Which brought her back to 1974 to learn more about the vote that took place in 1965, and it had her questing about in 2025, to the point where she confronted her mother about her father’s sweater, the one that El found by the Pond. To gather those answers. Which informs us of the fact that some folks out there are just searching high and low for answers to important questions in their lives. While there are others, who just want to know as much as possible about life, about their family, anything. For learning gives them perspective and gives them joy, and that lesson was expressed through Alice here. Who spent all of her time in 1974, observing Colton and Del’s big first date. Wherein she was able to learn how much Evelyn loved Colton back then, and how devastated she was by the fact that Colton did not choose her. But he simply could not. For he and Del did share that powerful connection, the ‘opposites attract’ connection, if you will. For they did not seem to fit together, but their hearts just called to one another and that was what Alice witnessed here. That draw, that need that only true love can bring forth and that led to some gentle moments for certain. The kind that showcased the beauty of the world and how our thirst for knowledge can indeed bring us good days. But of course, what would a story about the many goings on of the world be like, without exploring the fact that sometimes… people are just going through it. Because the world is a rough place and can bring people to utter sorrow. Wherein they have to work to heal and find their way back into the light and that was Jacob’s journey here. For he started to experience a little Post Traumatic Stress Disorder because of what happened to him back in the day, courtesy of Cyrus Goodwin. To the point where he was hallucinating, and he even had a panic attack while at the Goodwin estate when a business partnership offer was made to him. Which left him besides himself and worried about tomorrow. That hammered home that lesson while resurrecting another from season’s past. For Del stepped in and was gentle with her son and he opened up to her and asked for advice and help, which she was happy to give. Which harkened back to last season’s thoughts on healing, and how it takes a village sometimes to bring us back from the darkness. All of which made for a fascinating tale. One that truly reminded us of the fact that the world is always in motion, and while we sit here and worry about our own concerns or celebrate our wins, others are doing the same. Which may seem overwhelming but should instead make us feel special and connected to something greater. Because truly, we are all sharing in such moments at any given time and that’s just incredible when you think about it, and now that this amazing little musing on such matters has come to a close, it’s onto other matters. Such as what secrets Del is hiding since she seems to know so much more than she is leading on, and what Colton truly knows, since he kept things vague here, and it will be interesting to garner those answers as season three continues along. Until next time. Watch ‘The Way Home’

Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 102 of ‘The Couple Next Door’. To revisit the Series Premiere, click here.
One particular belief that a great deal of us hold to in this life, is that we have a fine understanding of what kind of people live in the homes that surround us. Which we of course, base upon basic sensory information. For instance, if they’re noisy and raucous, they’re probably annoying jerks. But if they keep to themselves, they’re probably some low-key individuals we could have a nice chat with. Not to mention, our interactions with the majority of our neighbors are quite pleasant, as are the meals or drinks or conversations we sometimes share, all of which helps to quickly lock up the notion that so many of them… are probably nice and worth living next to. But the fact of the matter is, we know nothing of those that surround us. Because in reality, we simply don’t know them the way we know ourselves or our family. So, in order to truly know them, and know if they’re good people… we would need to see into their everyday lives and what we would learn could potentially shock us, as evidenced by the next episode of The Couple Next Door. For ‘Tangled Temptations’ took the time to really ponder upon what people are like behind closed doors and that brought forth both fascinating and unsettling moments for certain. For instance, this episode informed us that some of our neighbors, might be far more disturbed than we know. Since Alan went all out here to further his obsession with Becka by breaking into her home to learn about her, be near her, and doing so… prompted him to steal footage of one of her and Danny’s recent trysts. In an effort to satisfy his sexual curiosities and to find agency when he discovered his image in town was sour at best. Which informed us we just don’t know what our neighbors are capable of, and this took Alan’s odd nature to new heights for certain and the exploration did not end there. Mainly because Becka and Danny made an effort to cheer Pete and Evie up by taking them out to the beach for the weekend. Since Evie and Pete were still trying to heal from their pain. Which brought forth, a weekend of discovery. In that, the new neighbors both learned that Becka and Danny were into the polyamorous lifestyle. Which brought forth all kinds of questions from Pete, and of course… more flirtations between Danny and Evie, since there is chemistry there. The kind that this series will undoubtedly explore for reasons we will get to in a moment. Because what mattered more in this instance, was the fact that this too… exposed how little we know about the lives of the people that surround us and that sometimes… the only way to know is to spend time with them, akin to this. But there was mention regarding the chemistry between Danny and Evie, and that’s worth expanding upon further. Mainly because, this series also took a little time to think upon how important it is for couples to communicate and work to heal together when dark times befall them. Because Pete and Evie were on two separate paths here, and both felt lost in their own right but did little to reunite and that isn’t helping the situation. Since Evie feels abandoned and lonesome and that could bring her into Danny and Becka’s bed and stead no problem, and Pete with her. As they both try to desperately feel something over the loss they suffered and that could be disastrous for their love. Plus, this episode made sure to follow up further on Danny’s side gig. By informing us that he owes a lot of money to others and has pissed them off and that side venture will be hazardous to his career and his health. Since the boss found out and because… he literally came under fire at the end of this story. However, while we wait to see what comes of that, we can celebrate one fascinating study. One that really did showcase, that we haven’t a clue about the people around us. For behind closed doors they truly are different people outright and that’s important to think upon and realize. Not to create fear mind you, and not to make us nosy, but just to remind us… that we never really know the everyday people in our lives, despite thinking that we do. All because we just don’t spend that much time with them, and perhaps having that fluffier perception of them is best. So that we don’t get caught up with the Alan’s of the world and their weird habits, and the potential dangers that now surround Danny, and steer clear of proclivities and curiosities that might endanger our relationship if we’re not ready for them. That lesson of course, will also be brought up down the line, since Evie is indeed ready to play with fire, and it will be fascinating to see what comes out of the lessons explored here in the weeks to come. Until next time. Watch ‘The Couple Next Door’

Caution: This article contains spoilers for the Series Premiere of ‘Asia’.
It is definitely safe to say that a great deal of people believe that we have in many ways, learned all there is to learn about the world we live upon. After all, we know how it functions, we know what the biospheres look like, and what kinds of animals live within them. Not to mention, we also know what lived on this world before us and what the planet was like millions of years ago. So, there’s not much else to explore. But that is, an incorrect view. For while we have learned a great deal about Planet Earth, we still have so much to learn about its functions, and so much of it to showcase. So that everyone truly understands the incredible world we live upon. Which is why BBC America and Sir David Attenborough continue to team up and offer stunning new documentaries about our world and its wildlife. To help us with that particular goal and it just so happens that a new documentary on the network debuted last night, that will truly show us the wonder of a continent that we do indeed believe has been explored from top to bottom… Asia. For there is still so much for us to learn about this massive continent, the largest on the planet no less, since there is incredible and stunning wildlife that exists in this place. And to properly kick off a grand journey through the world of Asia, the series premiere of this show opted to start just off its coasts and in the waters that surround it. Which allowed for ‘Beneath the Waves’ to offer up a comprehensive and powerful journey under the seas. Wherein we came to learn that the waters near Asia are nothing short of stunning. For within their glowing blue depths are life untold. Some of which thrives in the deep, such as sharks and whales that go about their business and feed and hunt as needed, and beneath them are rare species that have evolved and functioned in the dark for ages on end, and not too far from them… are vastly different biospheres. Some of which feature creatures small, like mudskippers, who just go about their day in places that are critical to our atmosphere, while others… thrive in some of the most beautiful places imaginable. Since this documentary informed us that Asia is home to some of the largest and most incredible coral reefs to grace our beautiful planet. Wherein every single creature living within their colorful and critical infrastructure, have figured out how to live in harmony. Since there are sightless and slow little slug-like creatures known as sea bunnies, that slowly navigate the waters and survive by feeding upon a poisonous portion of the reef that makes them hazardous to eat, allowing for them to thrive. Not to mention there are species of fish and species of water bound snakes that have learned to work together to feed, giving rise to an incredible segment of our world that deserves our awe for certain. In fact, this part of our world is so resilient and so incredible that life finds a way to thrive even in the areas we’ve manage to nearly ruin. Since there are sharks that thrive in polluted waters and with a little care, new biospheres have erupted on various islands we’ve abandoned. Allowing for nature to reclaim what we thought we were masters of. All of which made for a stunning and beautiful journey. One that truly showcased how little we still know about our world and how much we need to study, and of course this premiere reminded us of the importance of protecting it all. Because we have been given the ability to do so, and should exercise that gift, so that this beautiful part of the world continues to thrive for generations on end. Until next time. Watch ‘Asia’

There was a time in the world of television, where family shows that received multiple season orders, followed a very specific edict in those follow up seasons. In that, if it wasn’t broke, there was no need to fix it, and it makes sense as to why it was business as usual for those shows. Because few believed in the power of family entertainment and children’s shows and truly thought that sticking with the formula was the best way to keep the ratings going and keep the show thriving. But thankfully, the explosion of peak television and a grand desire creatively in 2025 to try new things, has changed that.
For now, creatives involved in family entertainment are curious about challenging their characters and challenging their audience in new and amazing ways. Not to mention, they simply want to know what the potential of the show could be and that’s giving rise to family shows that are inspiring powerful discussions inside the home. That allows for children to ask important questions about life and social interactions and learn from their folks and one particular network that leads the charge in giving life to this is Apple TV+. For their family shows are unlike anything else on television and it just so happens, that one of their keystone family shows returned for its second season yesterday, and its desire to follow this new edict to grow its characters and enrich its audience’s lives further, makes Eva the Owlet worth spotlighting once again. Because season two of this show accomplishes some real wonders, and it does so… by keeping things somewhat familiar. For season one of this dynamic series offered up episodes that featured two vignettes involving Eva and her family and friends. Wherein Eva would take the time to learn valuable life lessons through her daily adventures, and she would take the time to write about them and ponder upon them. Giving rise to a story that explores the wonder of inner communication and the power of writing, and all of that is once again present here. For Eva has no qualms with taking the time to think about the lessons her day brought her and sort out her thoughts through self-communication and it is wonderful to enjoy those lessons again since it does help children, and even adults, understand the healthy nature of reflection, writing and outright communication. But this season goes above and beyond, by adding new layers to such concepts. Because on several occasions, Eva runs into new complications in understanding the world and how it works and that forces her to not only ponder upon such surprises in her diary, but it prompts her to communicate like never before. By asking questions to her folks and asking questions of others. Which leads to magnificent lessons about coming to understand how the world works, and how important it is for parents to help their kids process that. Since the world can appear quite quirky through the focused and innocent lens of children. Not to mention these new situations help Eva learn how to communicate with other people and learn from them and learn what their needs are along the way. Which are critical skills for a child to learn. Of course, the best part of all, is that they are presented in a manner that children can easily relate to, or perhaps have experienced, and that will lead to more important conversations with their parents. To help them process and to help them grow, and perhaps that is the central theme of season two of this magnificent series. Growth. For we are always in motion in our youth and growing into the person we will become and keeping to that theme, allows for this show to properly showcase that, and thankfully you and your family can enjoy more Eva the Owlet now. Since season two of this important show is streaming on Apple TV+, and we certainly hope you give it a look and enjoy all the amazing lessons it has to offer about life. Courtesy of a season of storytelling that ups the ante like never before. Watch ‘Eva the Owlet’

Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 210 of ‘Found’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
One particular concept that humanity has always struggled with, is that of unity. Which may seem like quite the strange sentence to read, since one can immediately recall moments where people around the globe have come together to help each other and do the right thing. But those moments are few and far between and in reality, we tend to act in our self-interests over anything else. Which doesn’t make us bad in the slightest, just emotionally immature as a species and a tad closed minded when it comes to looking at the bigger picture, and that is important to point out. Because we should be thinking upon the fact that if we truly unified and truly opened up to bigger ideas… we would accomplish wonders untold. If anything, our struggles with unity and what it could accomplish if we truly adopted it are top of mind today, simply because they were the focus of this week’s episode of Found on NBC. For ‘Missing While Outed’ saw the M&A team reflect upon their divided journey this season and find value in unity, in between handling quite the unique case. Wherein they were called to the local college to help a family find their missing son. Who was outed during Rush Week via video, and potentially in harm’s way for that, thanks to a supremely unhelpful and homophobic campus. But the fine work of this team, allowed for others to find agency and honesty with who they are before rescuing the young man from the middle of nowhere. For in an effort to tell his parents about his sexual preference before a video informed them, he rushed home and got into an accident so bad, he was injured and unable to communicate for help. Which is all we will discuss regarding the case of the week. Simply because… a dark day was descending upon M&A. For shortly after someone scared Sir hard enough to prompt him to run from Trent’s place, the police made it clear… that the time had come to bring Gabi in for her crimes. For now, the situation was getting out of hand and Gabi felt she was ready to atone. Because the team was healing and finding some measure of unity again, so it would be fine if she stepped away and stepped into a jail cell. A reality that stunned the team and left them wondering what tomorrow would look like and well, the possibility of losing Gabi and the stark words that came forth from Gina in this episode, made everyone, including Trent, understand that they had not achieved true unity, they were merely on their way because they were still battling demons and projecting emotions to the wrong places. Such as focusing all their fury at Gabi. Who yes, screwed up with her actions, but did her best to keep everyone afloat while taking heat for her mistakes because of how much she cares for them and that had to count for something. And that, combined with the realization that Sir was growing more powerful while the team was divided helped everyone to understand the importance of acting as one. Of supporting each other, and lifting each other up, and doing everything possible to keep Gabi out of jail for a mistake. Because they too made some tough emotional mistakes this year and we all deserve some grace for our missteps. That allowed for the team to accomplish wonders to keep Gabi out of jail and hopefully keep Sir at bay. Which could not have come at a better time, since he was in the final stages of executing his plan to kidnap her again and nothing was going to stand in his way. Not even family, since he beat his brother down to keep his plan in motion. All of which sets the stage for quite the battle between Gabi and Sir. One that will be difficult since he has had lots of time to plan and that’s dangerous for certain. But before we ponder upon how Gabi will stand up to him this time around, we can celebrate one lovely tale. One that really did showcase, that when we worry less about our own world and immerse ourselves in a shared vision, we can indeed accomplish anything. For we can learn and grow and move forward in a manner that keeps people thriving, and that made for a beautiful tale for certain. One that we can all take something away from and relish in its wonder, for a brief while at least. Because clearly, the time has come for Gabi to face off against the greatest pain in her life, and it will be fascinating to see if Sir can accomplish his goals with a unified front behind Gabi. Until next time. Watch ‘Found’

Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 2610 of ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
If there is one particular question we ask often when it comes to the worst criminals out there, it would have to be… how did they manage to not get caught for so long? Because so many of them out there, especially sexual offenders, seem to operate with impunity for decades on end, and that makes no sense. Because surely someone would have seen something, said something. But no, those men, and it is ALWAYS men, just keep getting away with it and there are reasons as to why. Disturbing ones to say the least that the next episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on NBC, opted to explore in its next episode. A feat that ‘Master Key’ accomplished by way of a troubling case for the SVU team. One that started off with what appeared to be a kidnapping case. For a troubled youth named Anthony simply disappeared from his group home one night, and the fact that his phone was left behind and that his ankle monitor was cut off, really did make it seem as though a kidnapping had taken place. Which moved the team to swift action, wherein they made great progress in finding Anthony. For an Amber Alert, since Anthony was only sixteen, and camera footage managed to reveal the person responsible for snatching Anthony up and it wasn’t long before they were able to search the perpetrator’s home and figure out where he and Anthony ended up. Which turned out to be a seedy motel, and once the police got there… this case took on new life. For Anthony’s kidnapper was dead, and Anthony appeared to be the shooter. Which made it seem as though he fought back and all would be well. But some hard inconsistencies in Anthony’s story, combined with a unique forensic report regarding how the deceased came to be deceased, prompted Captain Benson to dig deeper. For she believed that Anthony wasn’t capable of this and that he was covering for someone else, and was a victim of so much more, and it turned out… he was. For his social worker, a man named Michael, was the one who actually pulled the trigger, and he expected Anthony to keep that a secret for some deeply twisted reasons. In that, Michael, was nothing short of a low life, that was pimping out Anthony and other troubled teens. All so he could enjoy a fat payday, and thankfully… that cash flow came to an end here when the evidence was finally overwhelming enough to bring him down. But what mattered most here, is that the push to bring him to justice, exposed how men like him persist. In that, they tend to use a façade persona to garner trust and blend in. So that others would never think them to be capable of such evil, and once that is in place, they strike. They do their horrible acts and use fear and intimidation to maintain control of those they harm so no one will ever know. Not to mention, they’re smart and keep a digital footprint separate from their regular one. All so that they can thrive in the darkness they seek, and that made for a powerful and unsettling episode for certain. One that sadly, made it clear that evil is very good at blending in and appealing to our good nature to ensure it can thrive, and thrive it does. Meaning that until we figure out a good way to spot what the Michael’s of the world are actually doing, this back and forth will continue and only come to light when something goes wrong on evil’s end. Which also made for a sorrowful and hopeless ending, because of the helpless nature of the matter. But thankfully, there are people out there like Captain Benson, trying to stop the madness and that does offer some comfort, and perhaps some measure of hope, courtesy of a stark story that reminds us that the world is a chaotic place where good and evil are constantly fighting for dominance. Until next time. Watch ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’
