One unfortunate truth that we don’t like to discuss in life when it comes to crime, is that sometimes the bad guys win, and we hate to say that aloud… because we’ve invested so much into making sure they don’t. Courtesy of a judicial system that removes any doubt regarding who committed the crime in question. Not to mention there are technologies beyond our wildest dreams that help us place the criminal in the moment and at the location of the crime. Plus, there are a bevy of dedicated law enforcement officers out there who do work hard to put together the case in question. But now and again, the bad guys just manage to sneak away, or they figure out how to beat the system, and the good guys have to live with that, and try to move on with the knowledge in hand that justice was NOT served.  

But what if… the officer or officers in question… enjoyed a second chance at bringing that same villain to justice? Would they ignore the letter of the law and do what must be done to win a conviction? Or would they trust the process wouldn’t fail them a second time? Well, those are questions that are explored in the next episode of Chicago P.D. on NBC. For ‘The After’ saw Sergeant Hank Voight deal with quite the unsettling surprise. For a call came in that immediately reminded him of a case from the past. For fifteen years ago, a wily and savage serial assaulter, harmed six women in a manner that left no evidence behind, and before Voight could figure out the culprit the long way round, the assaults just stopped, and no justice was served in the slightest.

But in this instance, the evidence resembled that case to a tee, and that prompted Voight to have his team go for broke in finding this guy. Because there was a real chance the monster resurfaced and could be brought to justice and this time around, clues came pouring in. Especially when another victim, one that did not fit the monster’s MO made it clear… the original offender was pulling strings and having a lackey do his dirty work for him. Which meant, there would be enough evidence to finally narrow down who this bastard was and how best to bring him down, and just like that… a name and a face was pegged in this case at last, and just like that… the system failed Voight. Because just like last time, there was not enough evidence to secure a search warrant for the monster’s home. Which left the sarge more determined than ever to find the right clue.

However, a surprise move on Asa’s part, managed to secure the warrant and finally bring justice to this case. Since Voight was able to not only save the life of that monster’s latest victim… but be the one to put him down with a justified shooting, and the aftermath of the end of 15 years of hell, explored the answers to our questions. In that, it’s yes to both. For Voight stuck with the process and the law, knowing full well that there was a real chance for failure, whereas Asa chose to break the rules to get this case solved. In large part because she revealed that she’s in love with Voight and wanted to do right by him. So, in the end, it is clear that it depends upon the person, and how badly they want to influence a particular outcome and that… is the most human resolution possible because those are decisions that play out in real life, in our everyday world.

For there are cops that do both things and well, that means this episode basically speaks to the duality of man. Of how we sometimes make unique choices because of our emotions and how some of us make choices because of what we believe in and that made, for a powerful episode. One that truly offered up a compelling and stunning case for the team to handle. Because this week’s criminal was about as disgusting as they come, and in some ways, the case at hand and that monster’s actions speak to the nature of generational evil in our world and how it is indeed learned, and really, all of these elements brought forth… just an incredible tale. One that left us with plenty to ponder upon and some positivity to look forward to, since Voight now has something to explore romantically when Asa returns from her RICO case. Until next time.

One particular trope that pops up often in medical themed storytelling, is that the heroes of the story, can basically do whatever they want to save lives. Which makes sense. After all, audiences are tuning in to see professionals do what must be done to save a life, and rules be damned because life is something so many of us cherish. So, that’s what we get, fiery heroes that stop at nothing to keep people breathing, and well, while that is indeed inspiring, it isn’t something that rings true. In fact, it’s hardcore escapism. For there are rules and regulations that every professional must abide by, to ensure safety of the public and safety of the patient and there are consequences for breaking those rules. 

Which is why this week’s episode of Chicago Fire on NBC is of note. Simply because, ‘Through the Skin’ explored that harsh truth by putting Violet Mikami through the wringer. For while she and Novak were on a harrowing call, a tough decision had to be made. For they were trying to resuscitate a woman that just collapsed in her home, and sadly… they were ready to just call her DOA when her sister arrived and informed them, that this poor soul was eight months pregnant. And with other trucks and ambos dispatched out to other crises, Mikami either had to perform a c-section on the spot or let the baby die. Of course, she chose the latter, and the baby was indeed saved and in any other story that would not matter.

In fact, Violet would have been a hero, been celebrated, etc. But here, that did not happen. Simply because she wasn’t qualified to do that operation, and there was risk that the baby could have been harmed. Which meant, she was suspended and there was a chance she was going to get booted out of 51. Which stunned her and pushed her to seek Pascal and Goodwin’s (from Chicago Med) council on how to keep her job. Because truly, she was a hero and did nothing wrong… but the rules were the rules. However, her track record, her passion and the concern she expressed over not being able to save lives, prompted Pascal to step up, and make amends for his fist-related actions to call in some favors… and have her reinstated.

Which was lovely to see since Violet is indeed as Novak put it, one of the best EMTs in the city. But what mattered more here, was that this story added some real gravity to this type of scenario and reminded us that sometimes, being a hero in the moment can be a struggle because of the rules and regulations that rightfully exist in our world. But while this could have carried this episode from beginning to end, it of course had more to offer us. Since we also saw Stella fight to get her new crew going, since Pascal wanted that truck to roll as soon as possible with a full lineup. Despite her once again going above and beyond as a firefighter, leaving one to wonder if they’re just oil and water. But it would seem Hermann has a solution there. Plus, there was some comedy to be found via Cruz and his quest to make his son whole again when his bike was stolen. Because it isn’t everyday you see a firefighter steal a bike. 

Not to mention, it was nice to see Severide do his little brother a solid by taking the time to help him land a full-time job. All of which, gave rise to another compelling story about Firehouse 51. One that once again had that hint of realism within it, thanks to Violet’s fascinating journey, one that really did point out that heroism comes with a price, and she also enjoyed some growth here too when it comes to relationship troubles. Which really did make this a Violet-centric episode and that’s not a bad thing by any means. Because it just goes to show that everyone gets screentime and growth in this series and you really cannot go wrong with a show eager to do that, and that of course, leaves us eager to see… who else is up next for a little growth and screen time as season thirteen of this amazing show continues along. One particular storytelling tradition on television that has gone the wayside, sadly… is that of the Halloween themed episode. Because back in the day, October was flush with special episodes of shows where the characters were beyond eager to dress up for Halloween and take part in a story revolving around this iconic night. Or the show would simply spooky things up and provide us with a creepy episode that just fit the mold and the vibe of spooky season. But one fine day, they simply faded from the airwaves, for reasons that are simply not clear. Slowly but surely though, that type of episode is starting to find its way back onto the small screen.

For everyone is rediscovering their love of Halloween and creatives know there is fun to be had in offering up stories that celebrate the season, and it just so happens, that Chicago Med on NBC is joining in on the resurrection/fun of bringing this type of show back, as evidenced by the lovely gift that NBC sent our way. For the network recently released some first-look photos at next week’s Halloween-themed episode of the show, and a synopsis. Which we will share with you now, so you too can prepare to enjoy the triumphant return of this type of episode, courtesy of one spooky evening at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.

One giant problem with shows that feature an ensemble cast or ‘of the week’ concepts, is that they often have so many stories they want to tell, that they gloss over the psychological and long-term impacts of what the characters sometimes go through. Which is stunning to say the least, because big moments do have a major impact on our lives and our thought processes, and it takes us out of the story when we see someone deal with something major, only to be back at work and doing just fine the next week. Which granted, television is escapist n nature, but even then… we expect some measure of realism within it to keep us glued to the story and to help us relate to what we’re seeing, and this is why Chicago Med on NBC continues to impress after all these years.

Because it is that rare show, that offers realism and actual continuity for what happens to its characters, as evidenced by last night’s episode. For ‘Blurred Lines’ wasted little time in informing us, that Dr. Asher was deeply disturbed by losing Elise during last week’s story. To the point where that death haunted her dreams and put her under a microscope of her peers and that was… powerful to see play out. Since it correctly pointed out that death isn’t something that doctors just quickly move on from all the time, as we oft see in these shows. Because they’re people, they care, and they struggle with death, and have to find their way forward. Which eventually, Asher did. Thanks to a little care and kindness from Dr. Ripley, her support group, since this did make her think about going back to dark habits, and even some kind yet icy words from Dr. Lenox. Who pointed out the great job she did do in this instance.

But what mattered most, was that we were able to see something hard impact a doctor long-term and stay with them, which added some real power to this story and surprisingly, continuity in this manner, didn’t end there. Because this episode saw Jackie, the nurse that Maggie helped come back from real darkness return to work as an ER nurse and that made Maggie nervous. Because she was deeply worried tha Jackie might break under all the pressures that the emergency room harbors. So, Maggie did her best to keep Jackie at bay by assigning her menial tasks, only for Maggie to learn… that she needed to trust Jackie a little more. For Jackie stepped in and helped Dr. Charles with a harrowing case involving a woman that also wanted to self-harm and her kind words convinced that woman to get help and move forward and that humbled Maggie and prompted her to give Jackie a little more responsibility at work.

Which was also amazing to see take place, and while those two storylines could have carried this episode from start to finish, it still had more amazing moments to offer through some palate cleanser stories. Such as how Dr. Archer came to learn his son was on the right path after all. Because despite being fired, he held it together and thought about what his next chapter might look like. Plus, Goodwin seemingly is out of trouble with that threat since nothing came from it in this tale, in fact, she encountered kindness here often. And of course, we saw Dr. Frost learn the hard way that while he should always trust his instincts, he should also make sure to dig deeper and have all the facts in front of him before he acts. Because he did sniff out fraud from a patient, just not in the manner he thought and had he gone with his initial hunch, a little girl would have been separated from her ailing father.

All of which gave rise, to another amazing episode from this show. One that really did feel as though we were enjoying a complete moment in time. One where real emotion was on display and where nothing was glossed over, and that’s important. For that really does offer up a fulfilling story for an audience, and it was equally as lovely to see, more of what we truly enjoy about this show. Which is the kindness and humanity that these doctors offer every patient that walks through their doors. Since Dr. Charles and Jackie really did a lot for that ailing woman and helped her to find a wonderful path forward. Not to mention, what Dr. Frost did in the end was lovely, and it was also incredible to learn more about his past, and well… all this does is leave us ready for more of this amazing series. Often times in stories that explore the nature of loss and how hard it is to accept it in this life, go to some supremely dark places. Wherein we see the person suffering through loss, sink to their absolute lowest. To the point where they hurt others in the story emotionally, and of course, harm themselves emotionally before realizing they need to rise above and be better. Because the storyteller wants us to truly understand the power of loss and how it can transform us for the worst if we don’t do something, anything, to let go of our pain. Which is indeed an impactful way to get the point across, but as is often the case in storytelling… it isn’t always the end all, be all reality of how people cope with loss.

For truly, people do it in vastly unique ways, and for proof look no further than the next episode of Where’s Wanda? on Apple TV+. Because ‘The Vinsons’ pondered deeply upon how sometimes… we explore ways to escape the pain through healthy and unhealthy means. Which was why Dedo spent a lot of time with his son in this story. Because he’s been desperate to find normalcy, a sense of fatherhood again and being able to spend time with Ole, and learn from him and learn about where’s at, gave him that temporary boost. Gave him something to hang onto during a deeply trying time and that made for a very bittersweet journey with them. Wherein Dedo was himself once again, and where we knew it wouldn’t last. But it was nice to see Dedo do something healthy to ease that ache and cope.
 
Sadly though, that meant that Carlotta was the one who did things in a negative manner, and for her… that involved watching the Vinsons closely. Because they were a family that resembled her own. One son, one daughter, a happy husband and wife, so she projected her want for a whole family unit onto that. To the point where she stepped in to play mother when the daughter in the family was going through a tough time, she couldn’t talk to her real mother about. Because Carlotta was suffering and she wanted badly to have her daughter back, and while this wasn’t healthy at all, it did showcase, as did Dedo’s journey… how people do process loss so differently and how there are other ways to showcase we are suffering through it, or other ways to try and cope with it, that don’t involve shouting and dramatic moments, which was refreshing to say the least.

But of course, we’d be foolish to not point out, that this episode featured some real progress in the search for Wanda. In part because that darling surrogate daughter saw Wanda in the woods on the day she disappeared but couldn’t say anything because of her illicit and illegal relationship with a teacher. But Wanda saw the end of a very busy and ugly day for that influencer. Who came to town to look for an animal smuggler who called himself, ‘The King’. And she was able to rattle the local barkeep and confront one of the man’s minions before being killed in the woods. Which Wanda saw and that could have led to her disappearance and well, there are hints that the King might be Carlotta’s brother, and that he may still be active. Since a foul-up with the cameras in one house led to disaster for Ole and Dedo, to the point where their efforts to liberate their gear, forced them to flee in a stolen truck, with an empty cage, similar to the one we saw last week.

All of which implies that family may indeed be involved in Wanda’s disappearance. Not to mention, Carlotta did also get intelligence on a creepy house in the woods, and that too has significance. But before we ponder deeper on what all of these clues mean, we can celebrate one amazing tale. One that truly explored some unique new ideas when it comes to loss, at least, on screen. Because you just don’t see shows in this vein be so frank and so honest about loss. But it was lovely to find it here and it does make us hope that Carlotta and Dedo can find their little girl. Because they are good people that deserve better and well, it does seem as though we are barreling toward the answers and that does leave us eager for next week’s tale. To see what other clues are revealed and to see what other unique lessons about loss await us. Until next time.

When we last settled in to discuss the wondrous new Apple TV+ series, Midnight Family, we expressed grave concern regarding the fate of one of the characters. For the last episode ended with Ramón Tamayo in critical condition in the hospital. For his bad heart condition took a scary turn while he was getting a stent installed into his equally as bad blood vessels. Leaving us to wonder if this family was about to face death in a new manner and work to pick up the pieces, and thankfully, the next episode in this story took the time to inform us as to whether or not that was going to be the case, after outright toying with our emotions for just a little bit longer.

Because ‘Lucha libre’ opened up with a funeral. One that saw a parade of ambulances and fellow paramedics paying tribute to one of their own, alongside a sorrowful Tamayo family. Giving rise to real worry that Ramón was gone from this Earth and deep sorrow was to follow. But it turned out, the godfather of the kids, whom we met in the last episode, was the one who perished. A move that still brought forth sorrow and pain for the family but informed us that Ramón’s story would continue, and this episode took the time to ponder upon… what then does a paramedic become when they’ve had a close brush with death. For Ramón acknowledged that his heart surgery and the passing of a brother from another mother, was indeed eye opening and life changing. 

Which prompted him to want to offer tribute to his hermano. By getting in shape, getting back into the game and becoming a paramedic everyone would be proud of, including Ramón. Which of course, some of his family lamented. Mainly because there was no shame at this point in just stepping back and enjoying life and using his later years to relish in seeing his kids grow up and take over the family business. But Ramón truly believed that this was the only way to be fulfilled and as he continued to train and get back into it, life went on for everyone else. Which allowed for Marcus to continue to press his love about starting a family, and Gaby continued to try and find balance between two worlds and two relationships.

All of which gave rise to another unique episode from this series. One that hammered home again how heroes are people before anything and want and struggle for the same things we do, and sometimes just find themselves in very unique situations that test their bravery and their heroism. Since the Tamayo family found themselves in a very hostile situation at a Luche Libre competition, one that got Julito in a lot of hot water because he used the ambulance to gain clout with a tutor and of course… that ending was tense. Wherein Gaby and Ramón stepped inside a live hostage situation to save a life, only to find themselves literally under fire from the bad guys. Which is of course, brought forth another cliffhanger that leaves us nervous.

Since we heard gunfire and don’t know what happened to Gaby or Ramón following that. But while we wait, we can celebrate a lovely day in the life episode. One that just continued to feed us what we are enjoying the most about this story, the characters. And how they are so supremely relatable, and for proof… just look at the opening of this tale, wherein we experienced great worry over Ramón and his fate. Plus, it just featured some unique moments, that were equally as captivating and engaging and well, we are certainly ready for more. To learn about how that cliffhanger ends, and to see how the family handles the aftermath of it, because it may indeed bring sorrow or reflection, but either way, it just means we are in for more thoughtful and engaging storytelling from this dynamic new series. If there is one particular lesson we are hearing often in popular media, it would have to be… we need to conquer our demons and our past. Simply because we are all learning now that the majority of our issues in life, such as the sorrow we sometimes carry in our hearts or our inability to seize upon the good or opportunities that come our way, relates to our past. For it can be a dark cloud that hangs over us and clouds our minds with doubt, and truly prevents us from growing, and it can also, destroy any progress we’ve made to find happiness, and rob of us joy completely. Which can keep us in darkness, as evidenced by the season two premiere of Shrinking on Apple TV+.

For ‘Jimmying’ saw the past come back to haunt Jimmy, despite the fact that he was enjoying some better moments in this tale. After all, Grace didn’t kill her husband, but she did injure him badly enough that his life would fundamentally change, and that may have helped Jimmy not lose his license. For he did love his work, and he was trying to be a better therapist here, by not doling out the more extreme advice he had become known for. Plus, he had made strides in his relationships with Gaby and Alice, and he continued to strengthen his friendship with Sean. Making it seem that Jimmy was in fact, not just enjoying some salad days, bur real progress. The sustainable kind that would propel him forward into the peace that he was craving. 

But sadly, that wasn’t the case. He simply wasn’t dealing with his past or how his extreme therapy was toxic in nature, and that was bubbling beneath the surface, to the point where he went back to bad habits. Which Paul called him out for and demanded some changes accordingly. All because Paul believed that Jimmy hadn’t dealt with his past and that was confirmed by two key moments here. Wherein Jimmy discussed some unsettling memories from the night his wife died, and through a shocking encounter with the man responsible for her passing. For he tried to offer amends and that broke Jimmy deeply. Because he never expected to see that face again, nor could he handle seeing kindness from someone he deeply hated for changing his life. 

But what mattered most here, was that this made it clear, the past must be resolved for us to move forward and there is no healing through good moments. Just delays when we are actively trying to heal. All of which was put on display by Jimmy here. Because he used any good moments to mask any major need for repair and held onto those elements over doing the work and actually repairing what was eating at his soul. Which doesn’t make Jimmy a failure, but a man. One who like the rest of us, wants the quick fix when it comes to the dark events of the past, because we just want to be free of such matters. Which are hard truths that set the stage for more healing for Jimmy and the work he truly needs to do, and he wasn’t the only one here in need of extra work.

Since Paul still struggled with his intimacy issues, all of which related to his fears of letting people down because of his diagnosis. Plus, Gaby was honest with herself, courtesy of an assist from Liz, about how she too hadn’t done much to really improve her own situation after the divorce. All of which just spoke to the fact… that healing is an ongoing process. Something that takes so much work and so much effort, and it doesn’t happen overnight and that requires us, to show ourselves a little grace and roll with the bad as we relish in the good. All of which this group will have to do, and it is not a question of whether or not they can or if they will… but what it will take to commit them to the hard work required to find that peace, and that will make for an amazing season of storytelling, that can teach us, so much. It wasn’t that long ago, that we discussed the fact that season two of The Irrational on NBC was going to be quite the unique season of storytelling. One that would feature everything we love about the series, since it does dive deep into fascinating explorations about what drives us to do the unsavory things we sometimes do, while also growing the characters and taking their lives in new directions. Which seems like a tall order, since the show is only an hour long and growth for so many is no easy task. Well, this is top of mind today, simply because the next episode in this magnificent series showcased how it is going to pull of that dual duty, and it is worth revisiting, because ‘A Kick in the Teeth’ put on a masterclass regarding such matters.

For this is a story that in essence used, sharp, focused writing to bring all those of elements into a single episode and that gave rise to a tale that was thoughtful, engaging and breathtaking to say the least. Where the central element we love, was engaging and powerful. Since the deaths of a bevy of innocent and seemingly unrelated people, stuck fear into this humble town. For so many were wondering if a serial killer was lurking about. But the more Alec and his team, and Marisa’s team, pondered upon this case, they came to realize… that it wasn’t a serial killer. This monster had a goal in mind, and his desire to smash out the teeth of his victims likely related to that goal. That prompted everyone to look for common threads amongst the victims so that this could all make sense, and what they discovered was quite unique to say the least.

In that, they were all relatives of a tech visionary who donated his semen often in his youth to fund ideas, and he was also quite the lothario to begin with. And the common thread here was that all of them were his children in some capacity, and had his dental condition, one that prompted so many to have dental work performed for a more palatable smile, and well, this all mattered because dear old dad was dying and his fortune was setup to go to everyone that was a genetic heir, and one man… wanted all the money. So, he figured out how to track down everyone through genetic testing to fatten the pool for himself, and he took some measure of revenge for having his inheritance threatened by knocking out teeth, and his final confrontation with Alec, spoke deeply to how… hardships, and psychological damage from a bevy of sources, can put us on a dark path that shatters us and pushes us to believe that our only way to heal and find agency is to punish others. Giving rise to a very complex ‘why we do what we do’ sequence.

But in between all of that… was the character growth in question. Which was handled so wonderfully and so smoothly. For instance, this story informed us that Phoebe was quickly learning that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, since she came to learn that she needs to be doing more in her day and that her amazing new boss isn’t all that great, nor does she harbor integrity. Plus, we saw Riz grow in his new role and find confidence within it by hiring the new guy, Simon, who was critical to solving the case. But the true centerpieces of growth here came forth for Marisa and Alec. Since Marisa came to learn here that she happened to be a natural leader who was about to get her shot at transforming her department as she saw fit, thanks for a forthcoming promotion. As for Alec, well he came to learn… that it might be time to move far beyond his past. Since Izzy, the woman he helped through her early days of healing from burn wounds last season, convinced him to look into surgery that might clear up the physical scars from his own encounter with fire.

All of which, made for just an incredible episode. For the case was fast paced and fascinating and left us with an engaging mystery and plenty to think upon regarding the lesson. But above all, it really did take the characters in a bold new direction, and while Kylie didn’t exactly harbor a ton of growth here, it’s just a matter of time before she gets her due. Because everyone here is becoming more before our eyes and moving into new chapters of their lives, and this just enriched the story so much and it really was handled in a masterful manner. Because it was just so smooth, and so matter of fact, as though growth is perhaps easier than we give it credit, and well, all this does, is leave us excited for the weeks ahead. To watch that growth take place and take part in more fascinating cases from this dynamic crime drama. One that is slowly reinventing the genre. Until next time.

‘Prime Video shared  the action-packed trailer for the upcoming  Original Series, Citadel: Honey Bunny. The Indian series born from the world ofCitadel is directed by Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK) and written by Sita R. Menon, along with Raj & DK. The series is produced by D2R Films, Amazon MGM Studios, and executive produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes from AGBO, alongside David Weil (Hunters), executive produceCitadel: Honey Bunny and all series within the world of Citadel. The trailer is a preview of the riveting spy thriller set against the vibrant tapestry of the 90’s, which features explosive action, high-octane stunts, and edge-of-your-seat excitement, complemented by multilingual  performances and a grand visual scale. When stuntman Bunny (Varun Dhawan) recruits struggling actress Honey (Samantha) for a side gig, they are hurled into a high-stakes world of action, espionage, and betrayal. Years later, as their dangerous past catches up, the estranged Honey and Bunny must reunite and fight to protect their young daughter Nadia.

It was only a little over a week ago that we enjoyed the conclusion of one of the finest seasons of television that 2024 has offered up, courtesy of the Apple TV+ show, Slow Horses. Simply because season four of the show was as epic and as powerful as they come, and it featured amazing twists, amazing turns and moments that took our breath away and shook us to our core. To the point where we immediately began the countdown to the already announced fifth season, whilst still pondering on the wonder of season four.

In fact, it was so good, that’s today’s announcement should come as no surprise. For earlier, Apple TV+ let it be known that Slow Horses will return for a sixth season. Which is huge, for in this era of uncertainty when it comes to renewals, this show has a two-season order in front of it, and beyond that… it just plain means we get more of the best spy drama on television. One that goes where no other spy drama will, and features some amazing acting, and amazing writing and to do this news justice, here are all the details regarding the show’s season six renewal, courtesy of Apple TV+.

‘Today, Apple TV+ announced a new, six-episode sixth season for the widely hailed, darkly comedic spy drama “Slow Horses,” following its season four finale. The Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning series stars Academy Award winner Gary Oldman, who has been honored with Golden Globe, Emmy and BAFTA Award nominations for his outstanding performance as the beloved, irascible Jackson Lamb. The “Slow Horses” season four finale premiered Wednesday, October 9, 2024 on Apple TV+. 
 
“Audiences around the world have fallen in love with the Slow Horses, and I’m delighted that Gary Oldman will be leading this star-studded cast on another acerbic and action-packed adventure,” said Jay Hunt, creative director, Europe, Apple TV+. 
 
“Slow Horses” has been celebrated as “undoubtedly the best spy series on television,” a "truly epic espionage thriller" that is "utterly brilliant" and just "so damn good." Hailed as "darkly funny and tighter than the buttons on Lamb’s sauce-stained shirt," the series features "a fully realized world, superb script, a stellar cast all at the top of their game and a lot of great action," that "gets better and better." All four seasons of “Slow Horses” hold a Certified Fresh score, with two seasons receiving a rare, perfect 100% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, as the series continues to receive global accolades from critics and fans alike.
 
Season six sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.
 
“Slow Horses” is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House. Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of the spies, who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world. 
 
The ensemble cast includes Academy Award nominee Kristin Scott Thomas, Emmy Award nominee Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, BAFTA Award nominee Samuel West, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Joanna Scanlan and Academy Award nominee Jonathan Pryce.
 
The series is produced for Apple TV+ by See-Saw Films, with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Adam Randall, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski and Gary Oldman serving as executive producers.
