There was a time in the world of television, where family shows that received multiple season orders, followed a very specific edict in those follow up seasons. In that, if it wasn’t broke, there was no need to fix it, and it makes sense as to why it was business as usual for those shows. Because few believed in the power of family entertainment and children’s shows and truly thought that sticking with the formula was the best way to keep the ratings going and keep the show thriving. But thankfully, the explosion of peak television and a grand desire creatively in 2025 to try new things, has changed that.
For now, creatives involved in family entertainment are curious about challenging their characters and challenging their audience in new and amazing ways. Not to mention, they simply want to know what the potential of the show could be and that’s giving rise to family shows that are inspiring powerful discussions inside the home. That allows for children to ask important questions about life and social interactions and learn from their folks and one particular network that leads the charge in giving life to this is Apple TV+. For their family shows are unlike anything else on television and it just so happens, that one of their keystone family shows returned for its second season yesterday, and its desire to follow this new edict to grow its characters and enrich its audience’s lives further, makes Eva the Owlet worth spotlighting once again. Because season two of this show accomplishes some real wonders, and it does so… by keeping things somewhat familiar. For season one of this dynamic series offered up episodes that featured two vignettes involving Eva and her family and friends. Wherein Eva would take the time to learn valuable life lessons through her daily adventures, and she would take the time to write about them and ponder upon them. Giving rise to a story that explores the wonder of inner communication and the power of writing, and all of that is once again present here. For Eva has no qualms with taking the time to think about the lessons her day brought her and sort out her thoughts through self-communication and it is wonderful to enjoy those lessons again since it does help children, and even adults, understand the healthy nature of reflection, writing and outright communication. But this season goes above and beyond, by adding new layers to such concepts. Because on several occasions, Eva runs into new complications in understanding the world and how it works and that forces her to not only ponder upon such surprises in her diary, but it prompts her to communicate like never before. By asking questions to her folks and asking questions of others. Which leads to magnificent lessons about coming to understand how the world works, and how important it is for parents to help their kids process that. Since the world can appear quite quirky through the focused and innocent lens of children. Not to mention these new situations help Eva learn how to communicate with other people and learn from them and learn what their needs are along the way. Which are critical skills for a child to learn. Of course, the best part of all, is that they are presented in a manner that children can easily relate to, or perhaps have experienced, and that will lead to more important conversations with their parents. To help them process and to help them grow, and perhaps that is the central theme of season two of this magnificent series. Growth. For we are always in motion in our youth and growing into the person we will become and keeping to that theme, allows for this show to properly showcase that, and thankfully you and your family can enjoy more Eva the Owlet now. Since season two of this important show is streaming on Apple TV+, and we certainly hope you give it a look and enjoy all the amazing lessons it has to offer about life.
