One of the hardest lessons we have to learn in life… is how to properly communicate with friends and family and partners. And what makes this such a difficult lesson are several factors. Such as the fact that everyone communicates differently and having to learn how others do just that can be a touch frustrating at times. In addition to that, it’s also tough sometimes… to take the time to communicate what we want. Because in the heat of a particular moment, where our minds are racing or where a lot is going on, we sometimes just assume people know what we are thinking or that we are making our wishes inherently clear… when in fact, we are not. But while this can be a difficult lesson to learn… to the point where we think it might be better to just leave it be and do our thing, it really is essential to learn how to communicate effectively. Because that is the only way we can properly express our feelings and the only way we can understand others and where they might be coming from in a certain situation. If anything, the power of quality communication is top of mind today, simply because its benefits and strengths were put on full display in the next episode of Night Sky on Prime Video. For when we catch up with Franklin and Irene in ‘Dear Franklin’, the man that shares the namesake of this episode was frustrated for certain. Simply because it seemed as though Irene wasn’t hearing him or understanding him in the slightest and vice versa. A frustration that was further compounded by the fact that Franklin found the letter that Irene was hoping he would eventually discover, in the event she finally moved beyond the door on the other side of the portal. In fact, this was so distressing that the couple spent a little bit time apart in this tale. To cool off and regroup their thoughts and when they did, the exploration in question got underway. For Franklin made it clear that he was genuinely worried that he was no longer enough for her and that her desire to run around town and the country to help Jude, spoke to the reality that he was being put on the backburner of this relationship. Whereas Irene, made it clear that wasn’t the case. Her actions were instead grounded in the fact that she and her love had spent years hiding from the world and not living because of their pain and she wanted to experience life now… before it was too late. Which was healthy communication for certain and it eventually allowed for the two of them to find peace and common ground, and this was a wonderful way to express to the viewer the importance of quality communication and its benefits. Oddly enough, this examination was extended beyond Franklin and Irene as well. Because Toni and Stella were growing further apart as they continued their journey through Midwest America. Largely because Stella wouldn’t answer simple questions for her daughter or really explain what they were up to. A decision that came to an explosive head when Nick was abandoned for pushing Stella to tell some truth. For it forced Toni to hold her mother’s mission hostage in order to get those answers, and finally… she did and came to gain some kind of understanding of their mission and their purpose and that was all Toni wanted. And once she had answers in hand, she was quick to help her mother and move on, all because a little honest communication goes a long way. However, while that exploration made for some fascinating learning, we would be remiss to not point out that the plot continues to thicken in this tale. Since it would seem that Stella and Toni are hunting Jude for sure. A reality that is reinforced by the timing of that shockwave and that should prove interesting for certain. Not to mention, it’s huge that Jude might meet his father and it was also quite amazing that Byron finally got to see what another world looks like, and that Franklin took his wife’s words to heart, and well, all these other plot threads do is compel us to continue the journey. To see what kind of wonders, await a bevy of characters that took the time to communicate and grow in this tale. Until next time.
