One particular bit of advice that we hear often in this life, is that we need to find balance between our job and our life, and we keep hearing that advice… because so few of us take it. Because work does mean a lot to us. For it pays the bills and puts food on the table, but at the same time, so many of us tend to make it our only focus. As though our job is all that defines us and that tends to push us to neglect the important stuff, we should be paying attention to. The stuff that nurtures our mental health and refreshes us from a hard day’s work so we can find that balance and perhaps sleep a little better at night. Which of course begs the question, how the heck do we find that balance when we are in fact, a workaholic? And well… that’s a question that the next episode of Mythic Quest, takes the time to answer. A feat that ‘Crushing It’ accomplished, by having Poppy, Jo, and Rachel… deal with actual down time. For all of them were free of their daily duties and that prompted them, to try a little brunch and just kick back and enjoy the day and uh… that got weird. Because they didn’t know how to handle down time, nor did they understand the importance of ‘The Brunch’ in regard to what it was designed to do for their mental health. But it did teach them, that they are indeed tied deeply to work and don’t deal with the ups and downs of it and that oddly gave Jo a wild idea to help everyone. In that, they should all get some hardcore venting time for the sour emotions that work can engender and that brought them to an out of the way range that specialized in weapons discharge and some advanced fun, such as driving over things in a tank. Which Rachel and Poppy took part in and found great joy in doing and well… their release from stress in that moment and shared fun, made it clear that if we don’t know how to find release from work… we get the hell out there and figure it out. We make friends, we make connections, and we try new things to see what sticks and when we find the right thing, we hang onto it and take part in it often and that… was a wonderful lesson to learn and it was equally as amazing to see this trio take part in it and grow and find catharsis. But what was equally as amazing about this episode, is that it had more to offer us than that all-important lesson. For this is also a story that made sure to have extra fun above and beyond the shenanigans that took place at The Brunch, courtesy of David. Because he received some outstanding news in this tale, in that… Mythic Quest was getting the green light to be made into a major motion picture. Something that he was hoping would make Ian super jealous, which is why he swung by GrimPop to spread the news and uh… promptly found himself lost within its sanitized caverns. To the point where he just about lost his mind and lost control of his bladder for sure, with minimal satisfaction toward his ultimate goal. But that’s okay, since Ian will eventually know, and David’s shenanigans brought forth a bevy of laughs, and really in the end… this was just another brilliant tale from a truly brilliant series. Courtesy of the fact that it was the perfect blend of life lessons and growth and outright comedy, and you can never go wrong with that particular mix, and this episode also gives us a great deal to look forward to. Because… holy cow… Mythic Quest is going to be a movie! And that means more amazing moments are going to be headed our way as the movie takes shape, and as Carol and Brad’s revenue plans take shape, since they forged quite the cash flow plan here, and that is going to make the wait for next’s week episode… as painful as it gets. Because we are simply ready for more of this magnificent series. Until next time.
