‘Bosch: Legacy’ Recap – ‘Seventy-Four Degrees in Belize’

If there is one particular concept/theme that we’ve discussed often regarding season two of Bosch: Legacy on Amazon Freevee, it would have to be the power of consequences. For all season long, we’ve seen Harry and Honey, and even Maddie deal with the consequences of their actions and the hateful and gross actions of others. Allowing for a bevy of lessons to come forth from said explorations, and well… it would seem that as we barrel toward the end of season two, the show won’t be letting up in such matters. As evidenced by the next episode in this magnificent series.

For ‘Seventy-Four Degrees in Belize’ posed quite the important question to the bad guys in this tale. Specifically, what kinds of consequences exist when you mess with a guy like Harry Bosch, and his family. Because Ellis and Long did indeed knock Mo’s car off of the Hollywood cliffs and injured the both of them in the process. But once Bosch and Mo were cleared by the doctors with minor injuries, did Harry to go work and inform both of those men, that you pay the worst consequences possible for poking the bear. Because Bosch was done messing around with these guys and he was ready to expose them both and that prompted him… to go for broke.

Which meant, it was time to visit the source of everyone’s problems and get on record how the good doctor’s nonsense led to the Parks murder and well… that brought about the truth, on digital record no less and some hard punishment for Ellis and Long. Who were worried about loose ends and showed up to the good doctor’s estate to handle one. But they instead were handled. For Harry got the drop on them and was able to badly injure Long and put Ellis on the run, and in the process… expose they were dirty cops to begin with. All of which were epic consequences for messing with Bosch and using Maddie for intelligence and that made for one satisfying sequence, one that was bookended… by more consequences.

Simply because while all of this was going on, the FBI was working to build their case against Honey and Harry and that meant, first putting a little fear into Bosch via Maddie. Since they interviewed her at the Hollywood Station, before just going for broke. Which entailed just getting their hands on a search warrant to try and find something concrete to bring them in over. That was, early on, a poor choice on their part since Honey and Bosch did a fine job of covering their tracks… but alas one cloud saved file was enough, to put Honey in handcuffs and throw the plan to keep what happened to Rogers into pure chaos. But that… are indeed the consequence of crossing that line. 

But before we ponder upon how that little cliffhanger plays out; we can celebrate one epic tale. One that truly informed us, you don’t eff with Harry Bosch, plain and simple. Because the consequences that come from that are dire to say the least, and that really did lead to some amazing moments. The kind that showcased Harry’s skills as an investigator and how little escapes him in that focused moment. But alas, trouble is on the horizon for certain and that does leave one eager to continue to the journey. To see if Ellis takes revenge or makes a run for it and to see what will happen with Honey in custody. Until next time.
