Written by ScottyWith all of the faith we put into our technology, it would be amazing to see what would happen if it all went down. I am not praying for a doomsday or anything like that, but I do believe that with everything we are handing off to computers to make our lives easier, it may be a good wakeup call to see something go down so we will have to take over some of the things that we have handed off. With everything that has been going on with hackers being able to open up data bases that are very restricted, it would be a very scary scenario to see what would happen if all of our lives are controlled by a group of people that are able to gain access to one of our more vital systems. As the skies continues to fill up with airplanes, collisions are not out of the ordinary and the government is looking for a way to end the chances of human error. Bringing the ACAT to life for the civilian circuit seems like the best idea, as the military has been using it for years with zero issues. Although several people are against one program running the skies, it is not up to them to make the final decision as the government has laid down their directives to make the skies a safe place to fly once again. But something has malfunctioned with the satellite causing all of its orbiting friends to be forced down on Earth. Knowing that there is a problem, a regional air traffic controller is trying to take the system off line, as the debris form space is not only causing issues in populated areas, but to the planes in the air as well. With the impending threat, Air Force One is launched to keep the president safe, but being tied to the same system that seems to be malfunctioning, he may not be any better off than everyone else in the sky. As the ACAT satellite continues to malfunction, basic communications are shut down in the air and the planes are experiencing system issues from an EMP like signal that is being sent down from space. With their equipment being rendered useless, the pilots are on their own to find the final destination, but when a passenger plane and the president’s plane are flying directly towards each other without even knowing it, the old air traffic controller has to find a way to save all of the people from impending doom. Air Collision follows two planes as they are heading straight towards each other when all of their equipment has failed. Flying blind, the pilots are forced to try to see any threats out of the cockpit windows, but it is not enough when the human eye can only see so far. When the ACAT system that was designed to keep the skies free and clear of any of these types of incidents starts to malfunction, there is no way to override it. In the commercial industry it is only designed to give directions, but on the president’s plane, it does much more as it is a military program and will do everything in its power to make sure that the Head of State is protected, at all costs. Needing to find a way to divert the planes from a head on collision, one air traffic controller is forced to think outside of the box to find a way to communicate with the two planes and although he was right about the system being a bad idea, he does not have time to prove that he was right, since there are many lives hanging in the balance. A sad look at how the people that actually do the hard jobs never get a chance to be heard by the higher ups, at least not until disaster strikes. With three different groups that you have to follow in the is movie, it is not a bad way to tell the story as each group has their own methods of making it work. I did not know what to expect from the movie as these are either a hit or miss, but I did find that I enjoyed the emotions that were put forth by the actors. With their lives on the line, it was great to see how different people would respond to it, and although you might have some characters that you do not like on the plane, it just means that they did their jobs perfectly. Happy Viewing.

Written by ScottyThere are many things that couples have to do to make a marriage work these days, as love never seems to be enough. Being financially secure is one thing that couples are always looking for, but the biggest thing that always comes to mind is having trust in the relationship. Without trust in a relationship, both parties are always looking at the other and wondering what is going through their heads, will they leave me and try to find another love or are they hiding something in their past that could damage what lives they built together? Bob Anderson is at the top of his financial game, being the best tax accountant at his firm and according to his boss, the entire United States. Celebrating his twenty fifth wedding anniversary with his lovely wife Darcy, Bob is ready to make her dreams come true. Getting her a pair of fish earrings, since she is a Pisces, he knows that he will get lucky tonight and make all of his dreams come true. Not only being a tax man, Bob has found something to keep his mind at ease by collecting coins. Darcy is happy with her husband and everything he has done to provide for their family and will do everything in her power to make sure he is happy, since he deserves it. Bob's job does however take him away from home several times a month, but he is able to plan accordingly with the coin shows that are taking place where he is visiting. Darcy does not run into to many problems when her husband is gone, but this one night, she finds that her remote control batteries have died and she needs to get some new ones out of the garage to be able to change the channels on the television. When digging through his workbench, Darcy finds a pile of old magazines that she has been looking for, but that is not the only thing that catches her attention when hearing something fall and exposing her husband’s dark secret. Finding her husband’s secret hiding place, Darcy discovers the I.D. of a woman who was just announced on the news of being the latest victim of a serial killer. Darcy is in shock when finding this and tries to put everything back the way she found it and goes back to the house. Wanting to know what this is all about, and what the serial killer has done, she researches all of his kills and finds out that the earrings she has just received are from his latest victim. Getting a call from Bob, Darcy is trying to hold her emotions as bay, but being together for so many years, Bob can tell that she is trying to hide something from him. Coming home early from his trip, Bob comes clean to his wife about what he has been doing for so many years while they have been married, but noting that it is not him committing the acts, but the spirit of his good friend that died when they were kids. Darcy accepts what her husband is telling her and makes him promise that he will never do it again, but knowing what he is capable of, she is having a hard time trusting him anymore. A Good Marriage follows Darcy Anderson as she finds out the shocking truth about the man she married twenty five years ago. Finding out that he is a notorious serial killer named Beadie, she fears for her own life, along with the lives of her children. Telling her husband that she is ok with the acts the he has committed in the past, she is looking for a way to deal with him and make sure that he does not do it again in the future. As the television seems to talk to her, Darcy knows that a secret can be between two people and she has enough trust in her husband not to take her threats lightly. Knowing that what he has done is wrong, Darcy starts to see things and opportunities to make Bob pay for his ways, but she is not strong enough to follow through with them until she has a vision of her own daughter becoming one of his victims. Bob is not aware of what is wife is planning, all he knows is that he loves her so much and will never let any harm come to her or his family, but can the same be said about her? A very intriguing story as you get to see the best of both worlds coming to light on the screen in front of you. With the perfect relationship being tested after the truth comes out twenty five years later in the marriage, it is great to see that the trust is still there. Darcy has to put on quite the show to make sure that her husband believes that nothing will happen to him from his past sins. But Darcy is forced to make the decision between right and wrong and has to find the perfect time to pounce as she does not want to be involved with what her husband has done in the past. I enjoyed watching the transformation that Darcy had to go through to become strong and sensible enough to do what she believes is right, and even though Bob did not have to change much, he still is able to put the fear of God into his wife, even though he does not want to harm her in any way. Happy Viewing. Written by ScottyIs there one thing that drives people to madness? If there were, would it not be prudent to find a way to stop it and not force people to become locked away in a mental institution? Not being in the medical field, I do not think I will ever find out the true answer to this question, but I do pay attention to the actions of people and what can make them do unspeakable things. When asking yourself what madness really is, you may be left wondering about your own sanity, as there are several things we do on a daily basis that may be considered mad by someone else. Dr. Edward Newgate is making his way to Stonehearst Asylum to learn how to become a true asylum doctor. Being greeted at the door, Edward believes that there is something amiss, but when meeting his new tutor, he finds out that his treatment methods are much more unorthodox than he has learned in med school. Dr. Silas Lamb is treating his high profile patients with the kindness that anyone would like to be treated, even if that means playing into their delusions. Thinking this is strange, Edward keeps his eyes and ears open as he is given the tour around the building, but when he lays eyes on one of the patients, he losses all of his medical ambitions. Mrs. Eliza Graves seems to be normal at first sight, but Edward is told of her past and what happens when she is touched in an intimate nature. Being told to steer clear of the woman, Edward is shown all of the other areas of the building and is told of the changes that will be made in the future. Thinking little about anything but Eliza, Edward takes to his training with little effort, but when he is thrown into a dungeon cell to take care of one of the more violent wards of the hospital, his eyes are opened to what Dr. Lamb wants him to learn. Using nothing but his mind and eyes, Edward is surprised how the lack of drugs being given to the patients is helping them develop, but not everything is as cheery as it seems when he hears knocking from the depths of the building late at night. Heading out of his room and investigating, Edward finds a large group of people locked away in the basement that all claim to be the staff of the asylum. Not wanting to believe this, one of the incarcerated doctors knows his name. Listening to the previous staff’s story about what has happened to their post, Edward is forced to believe that the insane have taken over the building and must find a way to get it back into the proper hands. Edward needs help to bring change to the asylum and Dr. Lamb seems like a person that will not go down without a fight, he has to trust that his new love, Eliza will help him with his plan. But Eliza does not want the old group back in charge of the asylum, as they are cruel and do not care about the feelings of the patients. She has put her trust in with Dr. Lamb, but to what end as Edward makes his true feelings towards her known. Stonehearst Asylum follows Dr. Edward Newgate as he is pursuing his dream of becoming an asylum doctor. Being taken under the wing of the head doctor of the asylum, Dr. Lamb, Edward is introduced to a new form of treatment that he has never read about or seen during his schooling. With the strange method of taking care of the patients being shown to him, Edward shifts his focus to something other than the sick and deranged when he sees Mrs. Eliza Graves for the first time. Falling in love with the woman, Edward tries to find a way to win her over, but she has a secret that he is not ready for. During the night, Edward hears a strange knocking and when locating the source, he finds out what is really happening in the asylum. With the actual medical staff being locked away, Edward has to try to find a way to release them without raising any flags to make Dr. Lamb suspect anything. Wanting to enlist Eliza’s help for the task, Edward is amazed of her feelings towards her surroundings, along with the path the asylum is taking. Needing to convince her that what is happening is wrong, Edward is able to pinpoint a night when all of the patients will be off their guard, but will he be able to keep them distracted long enough to get them their medications that they have been off of for the past few months? Knowing nothing about what this movie was about before watching it, I must admit that I was blown away. With so many riveting performances on the screen, it is hard to believe that I never heard about it before it popped up on my suggestion list. One of the things that make a good movie for me is the that the story line has to be strong and that is something that this movie delivers, along with a cast that makes you believe that there may be a little bit of madness running around. Even though this is more of a thriller type of movie, there is quite the love story that will keep you intrigued, if you are into that kind of thing. With the insane running the institution and nobody being the wiser to it, it goes to show you that even if someone may be mad, they need a distraction and sometimes work is the perfect one to keep your wits about you. Happy Viewing. Written by ScottyJust because you think that people are out to get you, does not mean that you are wrong. One of my favorite quotes and for good reason, there are plenty of people out there going after others for no reason whatsoever. Being a little bit paranoid is not a bad thing, it helps to keep you sharp and ready for anything, but if you are too paranoid and let it consume your life, you might miss out on all of the good stuff. Keeping your eyes open and taking in what life gives you is the only way to live, but if you are only focused on one small portion, you will miss all of the good stuff. Jack has been called in on another job by his boss Dragna. Being given specific instructions on how to handle everything on the job, Dragna is not someone that likes any surprises. Although the job seems to be a very easy one, Jack is told of its importance, and the importance of not looking in the bag that he is transporting. Jack takes note of this, but there are issues from the get go, as he has to kill the man that he is picking up the bag from. Arriving at a seedy motel, Jack is starting to take notice of all of the people residing there. With a wheelchair bound manager who is trying to get as much information about who Jack really is, he will say nothing about himself that is true. Holding up in room thirteen, as being directed by Dragna, Jack finds that the phone in his room does not work and has to get it activated. The manager of the motel is demanding a credit card for this to happen, but Jack is able to convince him that cash will be more than enough for the service. As the night drags on, Jack becomes involved with a tall woman that is looking for a place to stay, away from her traveling friends. Rivka is in between jobs and needs to find a way to start over, but the two men she is traveling with are more focused on her assets than anything else. Thinking that this is a trap of some sort, Jack keeps her at arm’s length and tries to make sure she does not find out what his job is. Having to kill a couple of fake CIA agents, he is convinced that his boss is trying to take him out. Not wanting to get Rivka involved in his problems, Jack tries to take her to the bus station to get away, but on the drive, the tall beauty will not stop asking him questions about his past and current times. Trying to kick her out of the car, the two are confronted with her travel partners trying to get her back. Killing the two men, Jack is met by the police when returning to the motel who are trying to find the whereabouts of the entire crew. Keeping his mouth shut about what is happening, Jack finds out that the bag that is in his possession is on the minds of everybody that has anything to do with motel and they will do anything to take it from him. The Bag Man follows Jack as he has been commissioned by his boss to perform one last job. After losing his fiancé, Jack has become paranoid and untrusting of everyone in his life. Just having to transport one bag to Dragna, Jack finds that there is a long road ahead of him when the initial picking up of the bag goes wrong. Staying in an out of the way motel, Jack has to be on the top of his game to insure that the bag is not stolen, or worse, viewed by anyone. Finding that everyone at the motel has a picture of the bag, Jack knows that he is in trouble and when the cops come calling when looking for two of the men he has killed, along with a tall beauty that he is being held up with, he has to find a way out. Trying to protect Rivka from what is going to happen, Jack tries several times to get her to safety, or tells her to leave, but she is staying for the long haul and knows there is a light at the end of the tunnel, for them both. Knowing about the crime boss, Rivka has a plan as well that is much more involved that even Jack could understand. A crime thriller that has so many twists and turns, you will not know who to believe. I do love how the story played out, since there had to be a final payoff that would clear up all of the loose ends that seemed to come out during the movie. Jack’s character was written and played perfectly, since he has no trust with his paranoia and by coming off a bit schizo, the other characters in the movie are clueless as to who they will see each time. With plenty of people gunning for him, Jack turns on his old life of being a professional killer and leaves no stone unturned in his search for what is really happening. Meeting the young, tall Rivka, his focus changes ever so slightly and he remembers that there is a bit more to life and living it. Every character in this movie has their own traits and no one’s is the same, making each character dynamic in their own right. With great performances and a fantastic cast, you will not be left feeling cheated out of anything when watching it. Happy Viewing. |
