Written by ScottyJust because you think that people are out to get you, does not mean that you are wrong. One of my favorite quotes and for good reason, there are plenty of people out there going after others for no reason whatsoever. Being a little bit paranoid is not a bad thing, it helps to keep you sharp and ready for anything, but if you are too paranoid and let it consume your life, you might miss out on all of the good stuff. Keeping your eyes open and taking in what life gives you is the only way to live, but if you are only focused on one small portion, you will miss all of the good stuff. Jack has been called in on another job by his boss Dragna. Being given specific instructions on how to handle everything on the job, Dragna is not someone that likes any surprises. Although the job seems to be a very easy one, Jack is told of its importance, and the importance of not looking in the bag that he is transporting. Jack takes note of this, but there are issues from the get go, as he has to kill the man that he is picking up the bag from. Arriving at a seedy motel, Jack is starting to take notice of all of the people residing there. With a wheelchair bound manager who is trying to get as much information about who Jack really is, he will say nothing about himself that is true. Holding up in room thirteen, as being directed by Dragna, Jack finds that the phone in his room does not work and has to get it activated. The manager of the motel is demanding a credit card for this to happen, but Jack is able to convince him that cash will be more than enough for the service. As the night drags on, Jack becomes involved with a tall woman that is looking for a place to stay, away from her traveling friends. Rivka is in between jobs and needs to find a way to start over, but the two men she is traveling with are more focused on her assets than anything else. Thinking that this is a trap of some sort, Jack keeps her at arm’s length and tries to make sure she does not find out what his job is. Having to kill a couple of fake CIA agents, he is convinced that his boss is trying to take him out. Not wanting to get Rivka involved in his problems, Jack tries to take her to the bus station to get away, but on the drive, the tall beauty will not stop asking him questions about his past and current times. Trying to kick her out of the car, the two are confronted with her travel partners trying to get her back. Killing the two men, Jack is met by the police when returning to the motel who are trying to find the whereabouts of the entire crew. Keeping his mouth shut about what is happening, Jack finds out that the bag that is in his possession is on the minds of everybody that has anything to do with motel and they will do anything to take it from him. The Bag Man follows Jack as he has been commissioned by his boss to perform one last job. After losing his fiancé, Jack has become paranoid and untrusting of everyone in his life. Just having to transport one bag to Dragna, Jack finds that there is a long road ahead of him when the initial picking up of the bag goes wrong. Staying in an out of the way motel, Jack has to be on the top of his game to insure that the bag is not stolen, or worse, viewed by anyone. Finding that everyone at the motel has a picture of the bag, Jack knows that he is in trouble and when the cops come calling when looking for two of the men he has killed, along with a tall beauty that he is being held up with, he has to find a way out. Trying to protect Rivka from what is going to happen, Jack tries several times to get her to safety, or tells her to leave, but she is staying for the long haul and knows there is a light at the end of the tunnel, for them both. Knowing about the crime boss, Rivka has a plan as well that is much more involved that even Jack could understand. A crime thriller that has so many twists and turns, you will not know who to believe. I do love how the story played out, since there had to be a final payoff that would clear up all of the loose ends that seemed to come out during the movie. Jack’s character was written and played perfectly, since he has no trust with his paranoia and by coming off a bit schizo, the other characters in the movie are clueless as to who they will see each time. With plenty of people gunning for him, Jack turns on his old life of being a professional killer and leaves no stone unturned in his search for what is really happening. Meeting the young, tall Rivka, his focus changes ever so slightly and he remembers that there is a bit more to life and living it. Every character in this movie has their own traits and no one’s is the same, making each character dynamic in their own right. With great performances and a fantastic cast, you will not be left feeling cheated out of anything when watching it. Happy Viewing.
