Written by ScottyAs people get older, their attitudes and opinions change, sometimes for the better, but sometimes for the worse. With so many people getting married at such young ages, it is not difficult to see why there are so many divorces these days. Even if you find the love of your life at an early age, it is wiser is you let some time go by before tying the knot, since there is so much more life for both people to live and find out who they really are. It saves on the pain and heartache that a divorce can cause in the long run, especially if there are children involved. Chloe Steele is coming home to surprise her father on his birthday, but finds out he has other plans. Arriving at the airport, Chloe calls her mother to make sure everything is set, but finds out that her father, Ray, has taken a job for the day that will keep him away from the house on his birthday. Waiting to see him arrive for his flight, Chloe runs into investigative reporter Buck Williams and they begin to hit it off. Watching for her father to show, Chloe is upset to see her dad flirting with a flight attendant who wants to be taken for a ride of her own. Talking with her father, Chloe is disappointed to see how quickly her parents are falling apart from each other. Leaving in a huff, Chloe does not want to go home and face her mother on her own, but has little choice since Ray is getting ready to fly to London for the night. Arriving at the house, Chloe is happy to see her little brother and brings him a gift that he has been wanting for a long time. Talking with her mother, Chloe does not want to get into a religious discussion, but is drawn into one anyway. Thinking that her mother has lost it by turning to the good book, Chloe has to leave the house before saying something that will impede on their relationship. Taking her little brother to the mall, Chloe knows that there is much more to life than keeping her nose in a book, since her family is what really matters. On his flight, Captain Ray Steele is looking to change his life, if just a little bit. With the beautiful Hattie at his side, the two are looking to have a little bit of fun when in London. But their relationship gets taken off course when an event has made all of the children on the flight disappear, along with some select adults. Being the only two members of the flight staff remaining on the plane, Ray and Hattie have to do everything in their power to keep the passengers calm until they can find out what has happened. Trying to get ahold of anyone on the ground, Ray finds out that they are on their own until the plane is able to land. When Ray gets through to one of his longtime friends in the tower, he finds out what has happened on the plane is not an isolated event, but it has happened all over the world. Looting, rioting and all around craziness has all of the major cities in shambles, but not everyone is willing to give up yet. As Chloe’s brother vanished in her arms, she has no idea what is happening around her, but will stop at nothing to find him again. Seeing parents falling to their knees, she periodically checks the news and sees that all of the children around the world have gone missing. Wanting to ask her mother about what is happening, she is stunned to see that she has gone missing as well. With millions of people vanishing around the world, there is only one reason that everyone can agree on, that the end of days is upon the earth and the non-believers have been Left Behind. One of those movies that deals with the rapture coming to life, but it has its own special story behind it. Dealing more with the disappointment and love within a family that is quickly falling to pieces, it stays very focused on the what the family has for one another. Without knowing or willing to believe what is happening in the world around them, the only force that is keeping them from ending it all is their love for each other. This movie keeps a very close look at all of the people that have been left on earth, while so many others have been taken to a better place. Even with millions of people vanishing for what seems to be no reason, the rest of the world will have to pull together to insure their survival while they will have to witness the end of days first hand. Happy Viewing.

Written by ScottyThere are instances people’s lives where they sometimes decided to change their entire personality. This could come from the loss of a job, a loved one, even a family pet, but it seems to wake people up sometimes and make them believe that life is worth living. When this happens however, some of their friends or family members do not appreciate their new outlook on life and the direction the person is going. I am all for being your own person, but sometimes you have to listen to your friends if your attitude has changed that much, as you may not know it, but you have become someone that you never strived to be before. Alan is getting ready to pick his wife up from the rehab clinic and surprise her with the trip of a lifetime, but is having problems getting the house ready for her arrival. Wanting to get her mind off of everything that has happened in the house, Alan wants to take her away to Italy and start their marriage over on the right foot. But Sarah is not ready to let go just yet and wants to have the opportunity to look around her home one last time, alone, to remember what she once had. Alan has made all of the preparations for the trip, including hiring a house sitter to watch over the home while they are away. Kelly is a vetren house sitter and came recommended by the neighbors, or so Alan says when they are getting ready to leave the country for a week, but Kelly has more baggage than she has led on. Inviting her little brother, whom she takes care of and her boyfriend Jesse, the house may never be the same again. Jesse is a thief while young Tim is not all there, but there is something else happening to the happy crew in the house as they all seem to grow up just a little too fast. While looking around the house, Jesse is trying to find a way to make some money while staying in the house and decides he will sell Alan’s car. But when he is ready to meet with his buyer, Jesse gets cold feet and comes back to the house, but he is not alone. Picking up a parentless boy, Adam, Jesse is ready to start a family with Kelly and now they have their first child. Adam does not seem afraid of the young couple and becomes the foundation of their relationship. Although Kelly wants to have the boy returned to his parents, Adam is not able to tell her where to take him. But not everybody is happy in the house as Kelly’s little brother is not ready to be replaced and tries to take out the younger boy. While Adam seems like he is just a normal boy, he is so much more to the house and is taking care of his elders, but he is frightened by something outside of the house and is not able to tell anybody why. House of Last Things follows the stories of two different families. Alan and Sarah who are on vacation, trying to get over a grave loss in their lives, while Kelly watches their house with her little brother and boyfriend Jesse. Everything seems to be going so well for both parties when the vacation begins, but the house has different plans while it invades the house sitters minds with memories of how things used to be. Having different memories, feelings and thoughts being thrown into their heads, Jesse winds up kidnapping a little boy from the local supermarket and is ready to start a family with Kelly. But Kelly wants nothing to do with this and demands the boy be returned to his parents, but young Adam does not know how to contact them. Making himself helpful around the house, Adam becomes a fixture to his two young keepers and wants nothing more than to keep them happy. But Adam is not able to do everything that he wants as he a fear of something outside of the house that might take him back to the place he actually belongs. This is an interesting movie and I doubt I have done it justice. With so many story swaps and memory changes, you know where you are in the story, but there is still something that you need to figure out. I must admit that I am not a huge fan of flash backs these days, but this movie did a great job as you get to see how the house was when it was younger, along with short snippets of what happened in a previous life. You will be left wondering how long the house has been this way and if others have had the same things happen to them as Kelly and Jesse are dealing with, but you might not get your wish, if you believe that the walls only have one story to tell.
