Written by John Edward Betancourt  While the holidays bring forth some lovely time with our family and friends, and joy and laughter, and enough sweets to prompt us to start that gym membership resolution early… there are some minor drawbacks to what comes after the big day. In that, a lot of us are on vacation, and we have a lot of down time to fill, and not doing so can lead to a great deal of boredom. So, we find things to do. Some fill that time with those aforementioned resolutions, while others… see this as a wonderful time to catch up on their favorite television shows and perhaps plan ahead as to what they intend to watch when the New Year gets underway. Because people love television and making time for our favorite shows makes for a wonderful and relaxing escape and being able to plan ahead only adds to that wondrous experience and that’s why it is always lovely to learn in advance what kind of programming we can expect from our favorite networks and streamers and that’s why we owe some thanks to STARZ. For recently, they released their programming lineup for January 2023, to get us ready for a new year of television viewing and well, with that in mind, here is that lineup (courtesy of STARZ) so that you can carve a little time out of your day to enjoy all that STARZ has to offer. ‘STARZ announces its programming highlights for the month of January, including the season two premiere of “BMF” on January 6, followed by all new episodes in subsequent weeks. On the film front, notable titles joining the STARZ app this month include Guardians of the Galaxy, Milk and Little Women (2019).’ Original Series The Detroit-based family drama, “BMF” will stream new episodes on the STARZ app, all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms and internationally on LIONSGATE+ premium streaming platform in the UK and Brazil. On linear, the episodes will debut on STARZ at 8:00 PM ET/PT in the U.S. and Canada. Inspired by true Legends, season two of “BMF” chronicles the unconventional journey to success of the Flenory brothers, Demetrius Flenory “Big Meech” and Terry Flenory “Southwest Tee”, who rose from the depths of poverty, navigating the war on drugs in Detroit, and became game changers in hip-hop and culture. Throughout the emotional season, the audience roots for the Flenory brothers during their pursuit of their American Dream, as they build a better life in a system that was stacked against them. The universal themes of family, faith and loyalty are explored both at home and on the streets. The brothers work to outmaneuver the government and expand BMF into a multi-state empire. Jan. 6: “BMF”Episode 201: “Family Dinner” Linear Premiere Jan. 6 at 8:00 pm ET/PT, 7:00c Meech smuggles drugs from Las Vegas as a test to secure a new plug for BMF, a vicious gangster from the Brewster Projects, K-9. Meanwhile, Terry began his new car-ride business with Charles since he left the drug game. Detective Bryant plots to capture Meech by any means necessary. Jan. 13: “BMF” Episode 202: “Family Business” Linear Premiere Jan. 13 at 8:00 pm ET/PT, 7:00c Meech focuses on expanding BMF into Cleveland while Terry experiences growing pains as he launches his car-ride business with Charles. When Terry learns Meech could be in danger, he inserts himself into BMF business that drives a wedge between the brothers. Jan. 20: “BMF” Episode 203: “Devil’s Night” Linear Premiere Jan. 20 at 8:00 pm ET/PT, 7:00c Devil’s Night and a drug drought causes chaos and a spike in crime in the city of Detroit. Meech seeks a new supply from K-9 at a bloody cost, while Terry confronts a car service competitor that is as ruthless as any gangster. Jan. 27: “BMF” Episode 204: “Runnin’ on E” Linear Premiere Jan. 27 at 8:00 pm ET/PT, 7:00c With Meech barely out of the hospital and still bleeding out, Terry assumes command of BMF, yet BMF is ‘Runnin on E’ strapped for cash, out of product, and down to their last men. Terry tries to find a new supply, and plans to use one of his drivers to transport product to Lansing, where they can charge a premium, yet everything goes wrong. Targeted from all sides, with their enemies Detective Bryant and Lamar closing in, they have no choice… but to run. Dangerous Liaisons,” featuring the iconic literary lovers, the Marquise de Merteuil (Alice Englert) and the Vicomte de Valmont (Nicholas Denton), will stream its finale on the STARZ app, all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms and internationally on LIONSGATE+ premium streaming platform across its complete footprint in Europe, Latin America and Japan. On linear, the finale will debut January 1 on STARZ at 8:00 PM ET/PT in the U.S. and Canada.
