If there one particular aspect of life that we share in with the folks that entertain us in some capacity, it would have to be that we all worry about doing the best job possible. Which may seem impossible since those who are in the limelight always seem so cool and collected, but those folks are in fact… human… and they too suffer from bad days mentally and worries akin to the rest of us. They just figure out ways to get over such matters, fast, so they can continue to entertain us. So fast in fact, that we believe they are fearless in nature. But of course, one cannot help but wonder, what it is they do to overcome such matters so quickly. Simply because we know that kind of speed regarding worry would help us greatly and well, it just so happens that the next episode of In the Know on Peacock explores just that. In a manner that is of course… as funny and surprising as can be. For ‘Very Gross’ was a story that started off less about worry and more about seemingly another day in the life at NPR. For Lauren was preparing for a big interview with Tegan and Sara and could only focus upon that. But sadly, that interview went poorly and that devastated Lauren and well, that forced him to finally listen to Fabian regarding what might have been the cause of this, since she was speaking about that from the moment the day started. In that, there appeared to be a collective belief… of a whopping five people no less… that Lauren’s voice was making people physically ill. Ergo, the show should be shuttered, and Lauren should go off the air. Because it seemed an illness ended the Tegan and Sara interview. Which Lauren took to heart and was genuinely worried about. To the point where he took feedback from the audience on his voice, which was a disaster since it was akin to asking for advice on the internet, and even a live stream only made him feel the fool and well, he was beginning to sink and sink fast. Simply because, he was beginning to believe that he was the problem, and that he was harming people and well… when it was learned that a listener/hater died, Lauren seemed ready to take responsibility and hang it up. But in the end, that person died of natural causes and Tegan and Sara didn’t experience illness, just frustration with Lauren’s dumb line of questioning. Which meant, he wasn’t a bad charm or a poison upon the viewer’s ears, he just… did a really crappy job interviewing two celebs he admired, and Fabian just worked people up into a false frenzy. So, he could continue his work and do what he loved and please the masses. Which… may not seem like a lesson on how to overcome such matters fast, but there is one in there. Buried deep no less. In that, a lot of the worry that folks like Lauren harbor, and ourselves for that matter, comes from external sources. Like say… an associate or a hater that just has to puke all over what we do because… well honesty who the hell knows why. But if by chance we put that nonsense out of mind immediately and remember what got us to where we are in the first place, we’ll be fine. Because we got this, and we know what we are doing. But aside from that… all of this made for another fun episode. One that was filled with quirky moments for just about everyone in the office really. Since we also learned about Chase’s elicit love affair in college with a man that haunts him to this day, through his laments, and Sandy took weird to a whole new level as only he can, and well, now that we’ve reached the end of this delightful tale, it is onto the next one and all the shenanigans and potential lessons… that await us. Until next time. Watch ‘In the Know’
