If there is one grand frustration that everyone harbors regarding our need for justice in this life, it would have to be… we cannot stand how long it takes to bring justice to bear. For in our minds, and understandably so, the process should go faster. The evil people of the world should promptly and swiftly face trial for their crimes, and we expect the evidence to be overwhelming enough to send them to jail to rot for all eternity. But alas, while those frustrations are justified, the problem at hand… is that our world simply does not work that way. Justice requires time, requires evidence and a long period of gathering that evidence. Alongside gathering witnesses and sometimes… it also takes a coalition of the willing to bring justice to bear. As evidenced by the next episode of Dr. Death on Peacock. For ‘The Fog’ took the time to explore the discovery process and what it takes for people to properly cross the line to bring a monster to justice and it accomplished those feats, by way of two key storylines. One of which… involved Benita. Who was beside herself when we caught up with her. Simply because… her life was a mess. For the wedding was cancelled, she had no job prospects and had no idea what tomorrow held for her. So, she set out to do what needed to be done in her mind and bring Paolo Macchiarini to justice. And the best way to make that happen, was to learn every bit of truth about him she could and that… brought her to Europe to explore Paolo’s past and that brought about some shocking revelations. Such as how he laid down the foundation for lies and manipulation, by causing harm through hustling and swindling. Which helped him to learn how to gain trust from others and lie properly and this visit also allowed for Benita to learn… just how deep the lies went. Because she also wanted to see where she was supposedly going to live in Barcelona, and that was quite the shock to the system, since there was nothing at the address, she was prepared to ship her belongings to. But that did allow for her to do some investigative digging on Paolo and come to learn where he really lived and while visiting his home, she discovered the ultimate lie. That he had a family, and kept that a secret and well, that was enough to begin to prove that he was a fraud and sow doubt, and little did Bentia know, that she wasn’t the only one making such efforts. Since Dr. Lasbrey was beginning to have more concerns about her work in Russia with Paolo. Simply because he was reckless and foolhardy about the next transplant and what other artificial devices could be implanted into a person. Which prompted her, to dig deep as well and return to Sweden to finally see what happened with these tracheas and how they were impacting the body. Courtesy of what Drs. Svensson and Gamelli had learned as well. For they too were compiling data and pushing toward the truth and well… they too had what they needed. Giving rise to evidence and truth, and everything people would need to know to shatter Paolo’s standing as a Miracle Worker and finally bring him to justice. Which likely means the next two episodes, will chronicle how men like Paolo, and Paolo for that matter, face their downfall. Face justice and pay for the horrible things they’ve done in the name of hope and ego. But before we ponder too deeply upon that, we can celebrate one delicate tale. One that truly explained why it takes so long for the justice process to start. Because it does take investigations and a compiling of facts to make that happen and rightfully so. So that there is indeed justice for the fallen and the wounded, and well, now that awaits dear Paolo. For after years of swindling and lying, and quite frankly killing… his day is due and it really will be incredible to see how his former colleagues and his former second fiancé, bring him to justice and find peace for themselves and so many in doing so. Until next time. Watch ‘Dr. Death’
