One particular lesson that each and every one of us struggle to learn in life, is how important it is to resolve our demons and our past when we enter a new chapter in our lives. Because that really is the only way to find peace and a new way forward and well, this is a battle for us because we do our best to not deal with such matters, out of the belief that this kind of stuff can be left behind or be buried via reinvention. Only for us to discover… there will come a day when we must and we will pay a dear price for ignoring it, and well… this is top of mind today, simply because it was put on display in the next episode of American Rust: Broken Justice on Prime Video. A feat that ‘Faster Horses, Younger Women and More Money’ accomplished… shortly after resolving last episode’s cliffhanger. Because when we last left Angela and Del, they were walking into a trap, one that Fisher sprung in a scary manner but thankfully fell to pieces. Courtesy of Cynthia, who came to realize something was wrong and who decided to do something about the corruption running through the department, at quite the cost. For a counterattack on her very corrupt boss, who also joined in on the horror, led to her end and led to a lot of injuries. Since Angela and Del were hospitalized. But on the plus side… the Brotherhood was exposed at last and seemingly; the central lesson here didn’t apply. After all, Del got his evidence back, and Grace was able to see to its exit from this world. But alas, the downtime that followed the end of the Brotherhood, led to all kinds of clapback from the universe about facing one’s past. For instance, had Billy been open about his feelings and dealt with them, the woman he wanted to marry would not have spent the night in the arms of her now ex-husband. Not to mention, had Isaac been better about putting up his boundaries he would not have let an outright monster into his life and of course… Angela would not be pondering upon Del’s integrity at the moment. Simply because Steve Park made sure to showcase his work to her about what happened on that fateful night, and she now has questions about Del for certain. All of which spoke to how the universe hammers down punishment for not dealing with our messes and our emotions, and fallout awaits… as done quite the conclusion for the story. After all, we came to learn here that Russell is in fact, a terrifying monster. One that will stop at nothing to protect Landwill and their interests and of course, Del is now mere inches away from properly solving the bombing case. Since he discovered that more parties are involved in this mess than he ever expected. In the end, this was just… a smart story that brought the central lesson of the season home. Because this one really did a fine job of educating us regarding how much better we will feel and how much better our lives will be, when we look at yesterday and bury its skeletons and bid it farewell. But all lessons aside, make no mistake about it, chaos and showdowns await us in the season two finale of the show. Since so many here have unresolved issues that simply must be handled and will be because that’s what is demanded of us and of course… there’s still a case to close and monsters named Russell and Fisher to deal with and that means, it is time to hit play on the next episode and see how this incredible season of storytelling wraps up. Until next time. Watch ‘American Rust: Broken Justice’
