Written by ScottyWhen is okay to follow your heart? I would like to say always, but in the time that we live in, it might just get you into trouble more often than not. You know how you feel, but can you always be sure to know what the other person is thinking? It is difficult these days to gauge on how other people deal with these feelings, since so many people have been taught to ignore them, but there are still those that embrace it and put themselves on the line every day, without fear. More of this needs to be accepted, rather than thinking that these people are emotional messes, they are just like everyone else, they just are willing to show how they feel. After being shot by a crossbow by her boyfriend Mark, Kelly has been forced to put her gymnastic training on the shelf, but not walk away from it entirely. Sneaking into Mark’s house, Kelly wants to tell him something important, but it is never the right time as his family is displeased by the relationship. When Mark’s mother comes knocking at the door, Mark is able to hide his young lover, but when he needs to go out and find the dog, he knows that his mother will rummage through the room, so Kelly is forced to hide in the attic. But nobody in the house knows who is lurking outside and what they are ready to bring down on the family and anyone in their way. A group of four masked men break into the house while Mark’s parents are sleeping. Tying up the parents, Mark hears something that does not sound right and leaps into action after hearing the news that Kelly is pregnant. Hurting one of the attackers, Mark is tied up and placed with his parents for the time being while Kelly hides under the bed. Trying to figure out what is happening, the attackers bring their wounded leader into the room and place him on the bed Kelly is hiding under. Listening to the plan that the men are trying to pull off, Kelly tries to get help for her boyfriend’s family, but nothing is working out in her favor. Having to wait for the opportunity to escape the room cannot come fast enough for her and when she gets her opportunity, she has to take it. The home invaders, Shane and Callum remain in the house while Mark’s father is taken to work at gun point to perform one the biggest scores in their careers. As Shane lies on the bed, slowly dying from his injuries, Kelly is trying to free Mark and his mother before the men find out, but a visitor comes knocking for Mark’s mother. Callum knows what will happen if anyone reports seeing him in the house and kills the visitor in front of his blindfolded audience, but he has the sneaky suspicion that there is someone else in the house. When Kelly is spotted, she is forced to use everything that she knows about herself and the house to find safety, if for only a short time to try and find a way to free Mark and his mother from what is pretty much guaranteed to happen when the job is pulled off. Not wanting anyone to get hurt, Kelly has to stay out of sight and pick her battles, only when she knows that she will be able to win. I had no idea what to expect from this movie and that is the best way to see it. With everything that is happening in the house when the attackers come in, you are able to choose the side of who you want to care about. As the story starts to play out, you get to learn much more about the attackers and then you start to understand why they do not want to deviate from the plan that is destined to work for them. I really liked how Shane was able to keep control of his crew, even when he was not with them for the score, and even when he is dying in the bed, he still has a pretty good idea about what is happening around him in the house and is not willing to give up on his own life until the loose ends are tied up. Kelly was great as well, she is strong and smart and not willing to give up on her goal of freeing her soon to be family, even when all the cards say that the smartest thing to do is run. Happy Viewing.
