Written by ScottyDuring our time on this planet, we are witness to many things. I remember growing up when there was no internet and I was forced to read encyclopedias to work on my reports. I am sure that this added character, at least that is what my parents said when the internet blew up and went crazy with information coming out of its…internet holes I guess. So much can change and while I am sitting here writing this, I am sure there is another advancement happening that I will not be able to understand in my lifetime. Josh McManus has to find a way out of his hotel, since the owner is trying to keep everyone there until the power comes back on. Seeing the band of bikers coming his way to make him pay in blood for what he did to their brothers, Josh has no choice but to leave. With a stowaway, Josh hears her story about what happened to her husband when he changed into a ball of light and escaped the troublesome world they call home. Not understanding why she was not taken as well, she is trying to find her own path with Josh, but it will be dangerous. Being chased by the Renegades, Josh has to use his quick thinking to get back to town and enter the protection realm of Sheriff Jensen. With a roadblock set up, the town is shut off, especially from the biker gang now heading their way. But Hawg is not ready to give up his hunt for the stranger and wants his men on every road into and out of the town to claim his bounty. Seeing young Beth with the sheriff, Josh has a new traveling companion on his way home to see his wife and baby. Beth has been blown away by what she has seen and even though she does not fully understand why she was not taken, the stranger that saved her from the biker gang gave her a mission, to protect Josh on his travels. Wanting to understand why Josh is the way he is, Beth is able to get him to open up about his past and as he is able to recount the moment he lost fear in his life, leaving her in awe. Being a weapon designed by the military that fears nothing, Josh has beliefs, but not faith and can do more good on the world below than above. When meeting up once again the rednecks that tried to rob him on the way out of town, Beth and Josh team up to make them pay for their sins. Thinking that the road ahead is clear and he will be able to be with his family soon, Josh finds out that the Renegades are still after him and after picking up Cat, Hawg’s daughter, on the side of the road, the group may be in more trouble than they expected. Young Beth gets shot, but she is not afraid of death since she knows where she is going and wishes the best for Josh and Cat as they have to stay ahead of the biker gang, at least until the world starts to unravel some more. The story continues to grow and you find out for certain that it was the Rapture that had taken place and has left plenty of people on the Earth to find their path. You get a great backstory for Hawg and why he has become the man that he is today, and even why he seems to have a hatred for his daughter Cat. We also get a good look at what happened to Josh in his past, how he was cured of fear, and that he is a weapon that no one has ever seen before and can do much good in protecting the innocent, but when it comes to his time, who knows if he will be able to be saved as well. I really liked how the second installment picked up right where the first left off. You get to see some of the same events happening again, along with a new outlook from the people that have been left behind. With one more to go, I cannot wait to see what revelations some of the characters have, or maybe even a lack of one when they need it most. Happy Viewing.
