There is something frightening about losing your memories, I mean if I did not remember what or who I was years ago, I would not know why I am the way I am now. It is a scary thought to have, to lose all that you have learned over your years. Memories may not be what will define us, but in a sense, they do help you in understanding who you are and why to not make the same mistakes again. I could not even imagine losing my memory, even for a matter of hours, it would change my identity and drive. Without those, I do not know who I would be, much less, what I would be doing. After years of research, Anders Raeborne is ready to put his experiment to the test. Working with a small sample of Darklight, Anders has found a way to make people more or less invincible. Bypassing the clinical trials, Anders is ready to try it on himself and finds that he is able to unlock a greater benefit. Turning himself into a demon, Anders has found that the power from below is much more than he expected and finds himself trying to end the work of his former firm. But what he does not know is what this could mean to the world as his touch also releases a plague upon humanity, but not being in his right mind, he will continue to kill off the competition before it is too late. William Shaw has been called back into action after his time away from the secret organization known as Faith. After hearing what is happening on the streets, he knows it is time to get Elle and bring down the Demonicus that is about to kill the world. Meeting with Elle, Shaw sees that it will be more difficult to bring her memory back than he anticipated, but he will not let that stop him. As the young woman is brought up to speed about who she is and what she has done in her past life, she starts to understand why her memory has been erased and why she has been put into a sort of protective custody. Finding out that her name is really Lilith and that she has awesome regenerative powers, Elle/Lilith is preparing for battle against the evil Demonicus who is threatening to take the world away. With help from her new friend Shaw, the two might be unstoppable for a time, but there is someone working both sides of Faith that will hamper their quest to save the world. What would a movie be without a plot that gives you a twist that you might not see coming…well in this case, one I actually could see coming, but thankfully didn't ruin the story at all for me. I liked how the story played with Darklight and let me tell you why. You knew that there were baddies in Faith, but you were still left to question who they were before you finally got to put it together. I found myself identifying with William Shaw early in this movie, but I must admit that Lilith/Elle gave the best performance since she had to grow into the powerful character that could save the world. She did not have really a formal training, just Shaw helping her along the way, she had to find her inner powers and control the gift that she was given to maximize her efforts to battle the Demonicus and try and save the world. Not a bad movie, and if you take some shotty CGI out of the equation, you may actually find the hidden message. Happy Viewing.
