When we last settled in to enjoy the wondrous Acorn TV series, Under the Vines, we were left to digest quite the stunning twist. In that, Philippe really did get into Tippy’s head, prompting her to dump the batch of the stellar wine she created to give life to something new. A move that shocked Daisy and Louis, and we the audience as well. Since we genuinely believed that Tippy hadn’t been that deeply impacted by a family member she’d only recently met, and we were of course… worried what that influence would do down the line, and it just so happens… that the next episode of this brilliant series, took the time to inform us as to what lie ahead for a compromised Tippy. A feat the next story accomplished, by getting everyone at Oakley Wines, and some friends… on the road to the big wine conference in Queensland. Which allowed for Louis and Daisy to dig deep on Philippe’s past and what they uncovered was supremely disconcerting. In that, he did nothing but leave damage and devastation in his wake with every vintner he worked with, and so many of them cited a break in their confidence after meeting with the little twerp, and well… that terrified this duo, and rightfully so. After all, that meant Tippy was next on his Butcher’s Bill, and something needed to be done to save her post haste. Which prompted them to inspire one of the vintner’s that worked with Phil-creep to expose him at this conference. But as it turned out… they didn’t need his help. For Tippy, in an effort to learn her cultural greeting, stayed in the shadows for most of this tale and listened and learned and heard about what her cousin had done. Which in turn… prompted her to stand up for herself, and expose Philippe on her own, and receive support from others in the process. A move that was both relieving and satisfying since it finally put Philippe in a bad light and taught Marissa a lesson once again in matters of revenge. But most important of all, it allowed for Tippy to stand up and be her own hero at last and take control of her future. Which as long as the Broken Barrel Blend comes out okay… will be a wondrous one for certain, courtesy of this beautiful moment of growth. However, while it was nice to see Tippy grow and find her voice and stand up for herself and her incredible skill set, there were more important moments present within this story. After all, Griff got his big acting break via a super-sized gig in Los Angeles, and asked Gus to come with him, and that’s a major development in their budding relationship. And speaking of relationships… we need to talk about the ending of this tale. Because after a saucy night of drinking, and some fascinating phone calls… it would seem that Daisy and Louis finally gave into their deeper feelings for one another. They of course, don’t fully believe that was the case, but there’s a good chance… they were intimate at last and that’s huge and will have an impact on the future for certain. Simply because… that’s something that changes the entire working dynamic they’ve built and finally allows for them to explore what they really feel instead of fighting it. And it will be quite interesting to see what comes next for this duo. But while we wait for that… we can celebrate one wonderful episode. One that really did impress by having Tippy finally stand tall and find her voice and it offered a lot of fun as well. Because there were so many gags and moments of levity here, all brought on by the excess wine and well… it is safe to say that we won’t ever look at someone in a grape costume the same after this one and now that we’ve reached the end of this delightful and inspiring story, since Tippy reminded us to stand up for ourselves always… it’s on to the season two finale and all the wonder it will undoubtedly offer. Until next time.
