When we last left Obi-Wan Kenobi, he had faced off against Darth Vader and he did not do so well. While Tala rescued him, he was still burned pretty bad, but she managed to get him off planet and saved him. In the midst of being healed, he wakes up, reconnecting with the Force. He’s alarmed to learn that Leia isn’t with them and is dead set on getting her back. Tala informs him that Leia has been taken by the Empire and he’ll do anything to get her back. Tala agrees to help him, hoping her cover is still intact. It’s dangerous, but this is Leia, the unknown daughter of Anakin Skywalker and getting her back safe is a must. Of course the underground Jedi rescue is also in danger. That being said, Leia ain’t no snitch! She’s not about to sell anyone down the river. As it is, Leia is the most loyal. She’s formed a bond with Ben and she’s not about to give that up. Even if Third Sister told her Ben died. For a kid, she’s full of hope. It’s almost like she’s a leader in the making. Third Sister is determined to get Leia to break, and this 10-year-old is not going to give her the satisfaction. Reva even does her best to manipulate Leia, pulling at the kid’s heart strings by revealing how she used to be just like the young Princess. Of course, it doesn’t work. Leia seems to go along with it, goes so far as to say she’ll reveal where the Jedi sympathizers are, but she’ll only tell her father. Luckily, help is on the way. Tala has gotten to the base and made it through the front door. While it’s not her post, she manages to get through with minimal resistance. She’s able to talk Ben through where he needs to go to sneak in. There’s something off with this place, however, and even Tala is uncomfortable about it. Time is running out, however, as Third Sister has the Princess taken to an interrogation room. Ben has some minor struggles to get to the restricted area Tala is guiding him to. Sadly, his accomplice runs into some trouble of her own. Does an imperial officer get murdered? He definitely does. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. In the restricted area, Ben finds something truly horrifying. It’s a trophy room, dead Jedi kept entombed, suspended as reminders of atrocities committed against them. Ben is in the midst of exploring this disgusting hell scape when he hears Leia scream for help. It’s up to Tala to cause a distraction, which she does.
Ultimately, she knows what it means to confront Reva, but she’s left with no choice. Tala offers some false information on the secret baby rebellion, that’s more than just a Jedi escape program. The Third Sister doesn’t believe that Tala is telling the truth, but she’s able to convince the evil Sith wannabe that she’s a spy for the Empire. Is it enough? No, in fact she’s about to be taken to interrogation herself, before Reva leaves to confront Obi-Wan.
Thankfully Ben was able to save Leia and get her free before Reva can show up. Their escape is hard earned, even involving the flooding of a tunnel. They manage to make it out, alive. They are so close to escaping the base all together when Reva shows up with a bunch of Troopers. She calls Tala out as a traitor. There’s little hope for escape, but Ben and Tala will fight to the death to keep Leia safe. But there are always last second saves in the Star Wars universe, and they get one! Sadly, one of the two ships is shot down. While Tala, Ben, and Leia, make it out, it’s still sorrowful. This is the start of something bigger than any of them fully realize. Unfortunately, nothing is ever simple. Vader is about to end Reva for letting Obi-Wan go, except she put a tracker in Leia’s precious little droid. Wherever it goes, they’ll be able to follow.
