If there is only one good thing to come out of the events that men that weaponize hope inspire, it would be that eventually… they will pay the piper for their actions. Wherein all of the lies they told are exposed and where all the pain they caused can be healed, and that gives us peace and joy, since it means that good does prevail in the world. But alas, you will note that the world ‘eventually’ was used to describe the endgame and rightfully so. Simply because it does take time for the truth to come to the surface and for those harmed to speak up and demand justice. But it happens none the less, and all it takes… is the right moment to set a downfall in motion, the kind that was put on display in the next episode of Dr. Death on Peacock. In fact, ‘Tarantela Telaraña’ offered the audience several moments that put in motion the end of Paolo’s persona as some kind of miracle worker or modern-day faith healer. Largely thanks to the fact that the pressure was on for Dr. Svensson to turn in his findings about the botched trials in the lab, and he simply could not do it. Because something about this whole thing didn’t feel right and he wanted more of a baseline to work with. So, he made every attempt to learn more about Paolo’s prior work and what those results were with minimal success. Prompting him to take some inspiration from Dr. Gamelli to dig deeper and be more resourceful, because Gamelli too was doubting the good doctor’s intentions and work, especially with what he was seeing at the hospital. Because everything he did to challenge or question Paolo was met with resistance and lectures, despite the fact that the first patient out of the gate was ill and potentially suffering from a delayed infection for reasons well known, and of course… the facility was bringing in more patients and backing the doctor up and that drove Gamelli up the wall and prompted that inspiration and well, the frustrations of these men and their desire to better understand the science of this miracle, brought about some scary truths. In that, Svensson got his hands on everything they ever needed to know about Paolo, and well… he skipped every medical trial necessary to conduct this work. He simply believed his work would work and went straight to human trials and risked lives in the name of being seen as a miracle worker, and that was stunning to learn and well, they weren’t the only ones to find answers in this tale. For Benita’s journalistic instincts began to grow back in her segment of the story, and after finding out that her beloved had multiple phones, she began to dig deep into everything he promised, starting with their wedding. Wherein she uncovered that nothing was paid for, nothing was reserved and to make matters worse, the lies were worse than expected, and illegal acts happened in his past. Which she discovered thanks to her private investigation and well, that left her beside herself, and it prompted her to press Paolo to tell the truth. Only to receive more lies and even worse, some love bombing and a double down when the truth was thrust into Paolo’s face. Because he couldn’t handle the truth being sent his way and well, that left Benita in a broken and shattered place, one where her future was left unsettled. But what mattered more here, is that the truth did indeed begin to come to the surface here and it was in the hands of the right people. Because real action can come forth with damning evidence of cutting corners on something so important and Benita outright has the scoop on a miracle doctor who lives behind a façade and well, it would seem this trio are the ones that set, in motion, Paolo’s downfall. Since none of them were eager to stand by and let him continue this charade. The only question now is, how did they make that happen? Which it would seem the story is now ready to explore. Because there’s no way this trio will sit upon their truths for much longer and well, that means we are likely about to be treated to a long and winding and powerful breakdown… of exactly how men like Paolo are brought to justice for their lies and their misuse of hope. Until next time. Watch ‘Dr. Death’
