It really is quite amazing, how quickly we work to move on from trouble surrounding us and tough times we’ve already experienced. Because just like that, we put our heads down and head back into the thick of it. Usually by diving into our everyday work and hobbies, as though nothing happened and well… it does make sense as to why. Because tough stuff and trauma isn’t easy to deal with in the slightest. So sometimes, we do our best to avoid it through extra work and that can be problematic. Simply because… it doesn’t go away and needs to be dealt with, as evidenced by the next episode of Bosch: Legacy on Amazon Freevee. For ‘Hollywood Forever’ saw our core characters just working to move on from the last few months of chaos. For instance, Maddie was right back in the thick of on duty work via her new role. Since she quickly hit the streets of central Hollywood for some undercover work to keep tourists safe and that seemed to give her the healing she needed. In fact, she was so focused and so ready to be an officer again, her keen eye spotted real trouble on the streets and she was able to make an arrest, with one caveat. In that, there was a real fury buried beneath the actual arrest, the kind that prompted Maddie to damn near cross the line and be abusive as an officer. An act unbecoming of an LAPD street officer, and a Bosch for that matter as well, and that happened, simply because Maddie has that unresolved trauma she needs to put to rest. But she wasn’t the only one that was just working and keeping their head down regardless of bigger problems needing to be resolved. For Harry and Honey went full bore into their case. For Harry was eager to exonerate Foster and that led him to outright try and put an offer in on the house where Parks died to see the crime scene. Which led to an altercation with the husband and the police since Harry was indeed crossing a line and pushing harder than usual. Simply because he wanted the win, and he wanted to really showcase his skillset and his wonder, due to the fact that the Feds were keeping an eye on things and that too… was of concern. For no number of good deeds was going to fix that problem. Because they wanted their own win, and they were eager to have it post haste. Which prompted them to continue to work with Ramierz to get all the intelligence they could on Honey and the case at hand. To the point where they had Ramierz clone all the data about the case, and even bring shredded documents to them for re-assembly. Plus, they also started to interview witnesses and asked for facial identification of suspects and that happened to be problematic for certain. Because despite feeling as though time was being wasted, one witness was able to positively identify Harry’s face and actions on that night. Giving the FBI more than they bargained for. All of which spoke to trouble brewing for Harry and Honey, the kind that cannot be wiped away by burying oneself in work. Because the Feds are on the hunt, and that means this duo has to do more than sit and wait. Not to mention, Maddie does indeed need to seek out a little mental health care from the LAPD. Since she has to resolve that trauma if she wants to be the best cop out there, and well, kudos to this show… for recognizing this all and presenting it in a very compassionate and direct manner. To remind the audience of what it really takes to solve our problems and to teach our heroes that very same lesson and it will be interesting to see… how our heroes handle their newfound troubles as season two of this wondrous show continues along. Until next time. Watch ‘Bosch: Legacy’
