It is definitely safe to say, that fans of the STARZ series, BMF, have anxiously been awaiting one particular sequence of events. Specifically… the building of the BMF Drug Empire. Simply because… few viewers out there understand how a drug empire is built, and the vast majority of visuals stories about drug empires, don’t chronicle the building of it. They just use montages to get the characters to the top of the cocaine mountain they’ve built. So… to see it happen in real time, in a show that has promised us such step-by-step growth, satisfies our morbid curiosity on a corner of our world we don’t understand, and wouldn’t you know it? The time finally arrived to show us that process, during last night’s powerhouse episode. A feat that ‘Push It to the Limit’ accomplished, by having Terry and Meech buckle down and plan how to sell those endless kilos they got their hands on last week. Which for them involved, moving product in a secretive and efficient manner. Which was why, Meech made an out of the way car wash the new HQ for the business. For in this place, product could be easily loaded into a car in a smooth manner that no cop would ever notice, and sent out into the world, and once the product was delivered, the car could be loaded with cash and that would be laundered properly through the business, upon the car’s return. Which was a plan that gave rise to a focus we’ve never seen the brothers have before. But they realized this was their moment and they needed to go for it and well, they most certainly did. Because the business found quick and efficient success and provided them with an immediate revenue stream. One so fruitful that Meech went off to Ohio to handle unfinished business while Terry loaded up on more drivers to keep the flow going and well… they just kept winning. For Meech was able to quickly lock down the Ohio business with minimal fuss and Terry’s drivers got down to work and with K-9 out of the picture because he was arrested in Los Angeles, the sky was the limit for BMF. But what mattered more here, is that we got what we wanted. For we were able to see how Terry and Meech built the groundwork for their Empire and start to move it forward with a determination that was new to them. One that signified how they took this business seriously at last and were ready to conquer the damn world, and this was just fascinating to watch take place and… it was wonderfully grounded in realism. For while the Flenory Brothers built their business… life went on, as did the drama. Since Lucille learned about Charles’ affair, rocking the foundations of the Flenory household. And Markisha came back into the picture suddenly, likely because she was eager to have a powerful sugar daddy in her corner. Which lifted Terry’s head into the clouds and pushed him to make silly mistakes at times. The kind that pushed Meech to ground his brother often and try to talk to some sense into him. Not to mention, Lamar continued to try and make himself known and make himself relevant again with minimal luck and… the whole situation with Bryant heated up as well. In part because he and Jin were squeezed out by the DEA and were desperate to try and save their case, but more so because… B-Mickie made his move and worked to teach Bryant a lesson. Which will indeed escalate the situation and shift the focus of the fight for BMF to Bryant and his nosy ways. But while we wait to see what comes out of this power play, we can bask in one engaging tale. One that really did what few drug empire stories have ever done and show us the true genesis of an empire and how quickly it can rise to power. Since BMF accomplished wonders here and quickly laid down foundations for the future, and it was also amazing to see this story, keep it real and keep life in the mix to remind us that this isn’t some stylized story, but a genuine retelling of the real Terry and Meech’s lives, adding depth to this powerful story and leaving us eager to see more. Because now that BMF is rolling, it is only a matter of time before Terry and Meech up the game and build their bigger empire, one that would live in infamy, and it will be equally as fascinating to see them rule the day… if only for a little while. Until next time
