It has definitely been quite the big day for Disney+. After all, the D23 Expo is in full swing, and today’s panels brought forth all kinds of incredible announcements and trailers. Some provided us with a look at what’s to come for the Star Wars Saga, while others informed of us what to expect from Marvel Studios and some of their highly anticipated programs. Plus, we even garnered more information on the highly anticipated Willow series arriving later this year.
But it is important to note that the day’s announcements didn’t end with the flagship reveals. For other programs on Disney+ also had their day in the nerdy sun, take for instance the highly popular Disney+ series, Big Shot. For this show, which took the network by storm… was spotlighted today as well since an official trailer for season two was unveiled at the event and well, it just so happens that we have that trailer, and some information on the new season to share with all of you, courtesy of Disney+. “Big Shot” Season 2 follows Marvyn Korn (John Stamos) as he returns to Westbrook to show that his basketball team belongs in D-2 and that he’s still the championship-winning, powerhouse coach he was in the NCAA. Marvyn’s latest plan toward relevance is to get his team broadcast on ESPN and his method is to recruit an unlikely player: Ava (Sara Echeagaray), a gutsy beach volleyball phenom whose public tantrum got her ousted from her own sport. Between new friction amongst teammates, a sudden and unexpected proximity to boys, and off-the-court drama, this season, the Westbrook Sirens have even more to prove. The 10-episode series stars John Stamos, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jessalyn Gilsig, Sophia Mitri Schloss, Nell Verlaque, Tiana Le, Tisha Custodio, Cricket Wampler, and Sara Echeagaray. “Big Shot” is produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios. Dean Lorey is the series showrunner. David E. Kelley, Dean Lorey, Brad Garrett and Bill D’Elia are Executive Producers on the series.

Caution: This article contains spoilers for the season two finale of ‘The Outlaws’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
One particular aspect of stories that explore a transformative event in life that is supremely fascinating… is how quickly they come to a close. Because so many of them, fade to black or declare ‘the end’ when the character has reached the conclusion of their long and winding emotional journey. Granted, it makes sense as to why, after all, we signed up for said journey and when the main character has learned what they need to, lingering on could potentially distract or bore the audience. But the fact of the matter is, that is a wrong way to look at how to close these stories out. Because a truly satisfying ending to the journey, would be to show us how they apply the lessons they learned and how they grow, so that we see the complete picture and have an understanding of what lies ahead for those characters. Because that’s supremely realistic in nature and of course, would mix up the formula of such stories and it just so happens, that a season finale of a magnificent and revolutionary series… opted to do just that. For the season two finale of The Outlaws gave us more than that drop off ending, it plunged us into the very depths of what comes next for a group of Outlaws that faced all kinds of challenges and truths during their community service… right after it did indeed give us what we wanted. Such as having the Dean finally pay the piper. An act that came together, courtesy of one last grift from Frank, wherein he got the Dean to believe that he had the best cocaine on planet Earth, so his fellow Outlaws could lift the cash and flip the kilos he dropped on Rani and Ben, back on him. All so the police could bust him with a trunk full of it. But once that was done, and the Outlaws saw the community center re-open… they moved into the next phase of their lives and used their down time to reflect on their experiences and the lessons they taught them, so they could apply them and grow. For instance, Myrna learned that her drug of choice has always been control, as though that will somehow heal her mistakes. But also, that letting go of that need and acknowledging her accomplishments throughout the years… would instead do her wonders and it certainly did. For shortly after she stepped away from her work, and let go, and let a new generation take over… she found peace and agency and can spend her days now… living in calm. As for John well he finally came to realize that he has felt powerless for some time now, and that the only way he could ever feel in control again was to do something bold, such as sue his father and teach him a valuable lesson in doing business. And even Lady Gabby came to realize, that this experience was indeed her rock bottom and that she wasn’t happy and needed to make positive and healthy changes to her life, and the good times didn’t end there. Since Greg finally figured out that he needed to worry less about how to find his place in the world, and to just go out and find it… and that gave him newfound strength and a new love and even Diane grew from this experience, by completing her junior officer training. But not all of the lessons learned here led to happy and wonderful endings. For Frank had to be honest with his daughter about everything at last and once the deal was done, he was exiled by his daughter. Simply because she couldn’t deal with the grift anymore, and in one last and final and beautiful act to try and show her that he loved her… he made it seem as though he was the jerk, and this was his call before heading off into the unknown. As for Rani and Ben… well they too didn’t quite enjoy the perfect ending. For Ben was left heartbroken when Rani decided to end it. Not because she didn’t love him, she most certainly did. But she came to understand that this experience taught her that she needed to live a little and enjoy the thrill of the darker side of the world. Because all she had ever known was being prim and proper and well… while that may have led to a sour ending for the passionate relationship, she enjoyed with Ben… this led to some happiness for Rani since she finally was off to experience life in every way imaginable. If anything, this was just… a brilliant end to a brilliant story. One that covered so many concepts, such as how we need to look at criminals as people over anything else, and how tough times and surprises can bring out the best in us, and of course… the lessons presented here were thoughtful and powerful and oddly applicable to so many of us. But what matters more is that this story went beyond the basics and really showed us a dynamic and realistic end to this journey. But what is truly fascinating about this finale, is that… it also feels akin to a series finale. For so many of them moved on with their lives with their community service concluded, leaving one to wonder if by chance… this is the end of this saga or if there is more to tell and if not, well then what a great ending to a refreshing and original story. One that offered up a unique plot and solid comedy and a fine reminder… that we do get to come back and find a way forward or reinvent ourselves if we make grand mistakes in our lives. Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episodes Seven and Eight of ‘Sprung’. To revisit the previous episodes, click here.
Over the course of the past few weeks, our discussions revolving around the Amazon Freevee series, Sprung, have focused heavily on the show’s fascinating reflections and observations regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic. For this series has not only encapsulated the confusion and fear and sudden change that said pandemic brought forth upon all of us, but the show has done a phenomenal job of exploring the lessons that so many of us took away from this event. Such as how it prompted us to really look at our past and ponder upon it, and our mortality since there was a chance this virus could have taken any one of us out no problem, and that’s made for some deep storytelling. The kind that has never been that heavy thanks to the fact that the humor in this show helps to balance out the darker stuff. But of course, the best stories out there, do more than just offer observations and memories… they teach us how to grow through growing their characters and it just so happens that this week’s pair of episodes do just that. For when we catch up with the gang in the next two chapters, they were not only inching closer to the heist in question, since Paula was starting to sell her wares for a ridiculous amount of money, but they were also coming to understand that some life changes were a necessity if they wanted to enjoy the spoils of this heist, much less complete it. That led to the growth based moments in question. One of which, involved Barb. Because in order to finish the heist, she needed to get cozy with Stan, something she refused to do because she was convinced, she was in love. Which prompted Gloria to put an end to this romance, because Barb was obviously being scammed through and through and thankfully, since she sent her lover boy the smartphone that Gloria got for her… Gloria was able to track his location. Which led to a hilarious and touching road trip. One where Barb really expressed how much being loved and needed was important to her and where… her fake lover was exposed. For he turned out to be nothing more than the father of the model she fell for and seeing him face to face, taught Barb a valuable lesson on knowing her worth and following through on the truth regarding love and just like that… she came to understand that this was all a lie and that she could do better. But for now… Stan was going to be her poison of choice, and she wasn’t the only one who experienced great growth here. For Rooster finally came into his own in this tale by going above and beyond to snag the maid’s driver’s license despite the doubt the team sent his way regarding his ability to complete such a task, and Jack… well he went on the quite emotional journey here. Mainly because he ran into Spike after all these years and was furious over the fact that Spike’s weed business was thriving legally. Only because Spike should have gone to jail with Jack but escaped prosecution by dumping everything on Jack, and seeing him again and facing that pain, prompted Jack to snap and teach Spike some hard prison style lessons to make things even. But it didn’t take long for Jack to realize that this was fruitless revenge, and that in order to really find peace in life, he needed to forgive and release, and reconcile his own actions in this matter and he did… and finally found a little bit of calm in his soul. If anything, this was just… a brilliant episode through and through. Simply because it was just wonderful to see these characters, who were in a far tougher and more broken place mentally when we met them… find growth and agency and peace at last. An arc that serves to remind us that the pandemic had its merits since it also forced so many of us to look at our lives and what was good and what could be improved and to take action accordingly, and it is just wonderful that this series continues to celebrate the better aspects of this life changing event, and that it keeps inching us toward an epic finale. For minute by minute, the biggest heist of their lives draws closer, and it will be fascinating to see how these grown individuals handle their greatest challenge, now that they’ve tackled their own internal demons. Until next time. Written by John Edward Betancourt
Caution: This article contains spoilers for the season three premiere of ‘Central Park’. To revisit the season two finale, click here.
One particular aspect of the human condition that is quite fascinating in nature, is the sheer fact that we collectively wait to take charge of our lives or reflect upon them, based upon the season. For we are beings that can do whatever we want, whenever we want, and if we want to make changes to our lives today or really figure out where something important went wrong… there’s nothing holding us back. Yet we still wait to reflect until the end of the year, and we still wait until the start of the year or the spring season to kick our lives into overdrive and get moving on new plans. But while that is indeed quirky and fascinating in its own right, it is indeed the way of things and all that matters, is that we work to grow. If anything, that push to start fresh and enjoy a sense of renewal, at the appropriate and agreed upon time, is top of mind today… simply because it served as the focus of the season three premiere of Central Park on Apple TV+. For when we catch up with the Tillerman family and their friends and foes in ‘A Star Is Owen’, ‘Paige’s Next Chapter’, and ‘Ice Ice Not Baby’, spring has sprung, and everyone is ready for a new chapter to begin in their lives and everyone leaned into that, hard. For instance, the first episode in this magnificent little trilogy, revolved around Owen and the big plans he had for the future image of his beloved park. In that, he was hoping that he could pull together a meeting with the new interim Mayor, who replaced the embarrassing and disgraced Mayor Whitebottom to discuss a new initiative to highlight the park and all of its wonder. In fact, Owen was so eager to make the park a true showcase, he actually managed to get his family’s favorite show to film there. Which of course, didn’t quite go as planned. Since uh… they basically trashed the place and made the park look quite evil on national television. But the good news is that Owen did get his meeting and the go-ahead on his plan, and of course… he did get his beloved park on national television. And it was just great to see Owen take charge like this and really work to make Central Park a true fixture to others outside of New York. A move that really signaled his growth and commitment to his job, and he wasn’t the only one entrenching himself deeper into a career field.
For Paige was also finding incredible growth in this new season of renewal. Because her incredible work with the exposé on corruption, caught the attention of one of the big publishers in NYC. To the point where they wanted to hear more about what kinds of ideas she might have for a full-on novel, and they scheduled a meeting with her. Which of course, she put off until the last minute. In part because her sister, Abby, was now in town and working toward becoming an actor and spending time with family is always important to Paige. But also, because, she had lost a little confidence in her abilities and her dreams. But she eventually found that confidence and nailed the meeting, and it was equally as amazing to watch Paige finally embrace her skills as a writer and push toward completing all of her writing goals in life.
But of course, growth and a sense of renewal isn’t always limited to the good people of the world. Bad and unsavory folks also feel that calling when the new season rolls around, as evidenced by Bitsy’s journey in this tale. For with Whitebottom out of play, she needed a new patsy to help her execute her dastardly plans and she and Helen set out to find a new Mayoral sucker to control and oddly enough… settled in on the new Mayor. For he was so green and so eager to please that Bitsy was hopeful he would quickly play ball if she worked to appease him and promised to help him keep office, in exchange for what she wanted of course and sadly… that may have allowed for the new Mayor to inadvertently pair her up with Owen. Which of course, will lead to trouble since she wants that park badly. But while we wait to see what comes of that surprise, we can in the meantime, celebrate another incredible set of episodes from this always incredible show. Because once again, it reflected our world and how we function, and it spoke to the growth we all go through with the seasons and the years, and it was just magnificent to see everyone grow here, for better or worse and of course… to once more be immersed in some quality musical numbers. In fact, the batch present here were some of the show’s best since they almost demanded that you get up and dance and well, all of these elements inform us, that we are in for another amazing year of storytelling. One that will make us laugh, make us think and put a smile on our faces and you cannot ask for much more from a show that reflects life and all of its wonder. Until next time. Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode Five of ‘Bad Sisters’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
Most television shows that take the time to explore the origins of an important act that involved a group of people… simplify the reasons why those characters took the time to commit that act. A move that is likely designed to move the story along at a brisk pace so the fallout of the act can be explored and well, while that does indeed keep things moving and keep things entertaining, there’s nothing wrong with taking the time to really explore the genesis and motivations that go into group efforts. Because everyone has something different that they want out of life and they would commit to something important for vastly different reasons than someone else, and one particular show that is breaking that mold and showing all of us that you can in fact, explore every detail and motivation of a character that does something supremely important with others, and keep it engaging… is Bad Sisters on Apple TV+. For every single episode has taken the time to explain why the Garvey sisters had reason to commit murder against John Paul, minus Grace of course. Because he was in fact, a rotten bastard to all of them and put them through their own special emotional hell. Which in turn brought about thoughts on how to kill a man and the next episode in this fascinating series continued to follow that slow burning and explorative edict. Because it was Bibi’s turn to explain to all of us why she wanted John Paul dead. But not before an important moment took place in this story. For ‘Eye for an Eye’ also took the time to explore why Thomas was so hell bent on solving this claim in such an unethical manner, and sadly… it related to an embarrassing final act from their father. One that involved never filing the John Paul claim to begin with because he pocketed the money, adding new stakes to their mission since such a revelation… makes Thomas dangerous now, since a payout will truly cost him everything. But once that revelation was complete, it was off to the past, wherein we came to learn… that Bibi lost her eye because of John Paul. For a simple ride home one night, ended in disaster when the two of them were involved in a collision that was brought on by John Paul’s boorish nature. Which of course, changed the course of Bibi’s live irrevocably. Because she was once a champion archer, courtesy of an aim that could not be beat. But without that second eye, that career was brought to a standstill, and she could not reconcile that in the slightest. If anything, the truth about her and John Paul’s sorted past, not only spoke volumes as to why she was quick to be the first to suggest murder, but also how that ugly day had infected her soul with notions of revenge. The kind so strong and so overwhelming that she thought she was ready to do anything to satiate it. Which is why she started to train once again, to perfect her aim for one hell of a plan. Wherein a birthday celebration for John Paul, one that would be hosted at a paintball range, could end in his end. For there was a soft spot on the back of his skull as a result of the crash and Bibi could easily penetrate that with a frozen paintball with her groove back, and well, she got her aim back after all and was fully prepared to go through with the plan, until she wasn’t. For in that moment, the reality of what murder entails and the realization that the anger and fury wouldn’t fade away with his end, prompted her to hesitate and as if often the case in life, hesitation led to a grand mistake. One that saw the weapon discharge and remove the eye of the head of this paintball park. A move that truly hammered home all of Bibi’s concerns and worries and also broke her in the closing moments of this tale. A moment that leaves us wondering, if by chance Bibi will have her fill of the revenge plot going forward since its dangers have become apparent to her now and of course, we still don’t know if the Garvey sisters committed a crime in the first place. Since their attempts continue to fail. But alas, that’s part of the fun and it is of little concern, simply because what we are getting before that grand answer is just fascinating. For this is at its core, a solid character study through and through. One that is defying norms by showing us every single person’s motivation for potentially harming John Paul. And it does so in a manner so compelling and so powerful, that we think little of the act and more of the impact he had upon these women and how broken they are by his abuse and truly, it will be fascinating to see where this series takes us next as season one of this grand mystery continues along. Until next time. Written by John Edward Betancourt
Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 303 of ‘See’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
It is definitely safe to say, that the third and final season of the Apple TV+ series, See, has been nothing short of breathtaking. For the first two episodes in season three have moved at a breakneck pace. Largely because Baba Voss and his family and friends have dealt with some stunning problems for certain. For a resurgent Trivantian Army has put the fear of the Godflame into Baba Voss’ heart with its new weapons created by Tormada and of course, there’s the unrest in Pennsa that the Witchfinders have sown, and of course, Sibeth has gone missing at a critical time. Leaving all of us to wonder if this stunning new pace for the show, one filled with big moments, was going to be the norm going forward or if we and the characters would get a slight break from the tension. Well as it turns out, the latter option is something that the writer’s room leaned into for the next episode of this series. For ‘This Land Is Your Land’ is a story where the calmer and more relaxed moments outnumbered the intensity. A feat that this tale accomplished by giving Baba Voss and his family a little down time while the search for Sibeth continued and that led to some beautiful moments. The kind that saw Baba Voss teach his own son how to be a father, since Kofun was still struggling with such matters and this is also a story that saw Queen Maghra Kane begin to grow into her crown and come to understand just what kind of a leader she was going to be, courtesy of that ongoing unrest in her proud kingdom. For the Witchfinders continued to press and press to bring revolution to Pennsa, and they even struck at Maghra’s family by going after Kofun. Which in turn prompted her to order all of them rounded up for execution. A move that made it appear as though, she was no better than Sibeth and the Kane legacy would continue to be cold and evil and everything awful in between. But in the end, Maghra found balance as queen and figured out how to spare lives while sending a powerful message and hopefully she did just that… since this madness does need to end, especially with what is on the horizon. But what matters more here, is that Maghra revealed herself to be a just and balanced ruler, and that is truly what Pennsa will need in the days ahead, since Baba Voss’ concerns and fears were confirmed by an unexpected ally. For Wren made her way to the palace and informed the Queen of the new weapon. Prompting the order to march on the House of Enlightenment to stop this now. But before goodbyes could be said and the mission could get underway, the intensity returned through a shocking reveal. In that, Sibeth had been inside the palace all along. Aided by her own nephew/lover since Kofun felt the family unit needed to stay together in some form or fashion. And that decision, backfired horribly. Since she took the time to threaten her own child and wound Kofun to keep her hide safe, putting another enemy on the loose at the worst possible time, since clearly… it will be only a matter of time before the Trivantians make use of that weapon to expand their empire, starting with the Payan Kingdom. In the end however, this was just, a magnificent episode through and through. Simply because it truly did give us a moment to relax and reconnect with the characters we love, and in turn that allowed for them to grow and heal as best they can, all before unleashing hell from an old foe. For Sibeth was more ruthless than ever in this story, informing us of the fact that she has basically gone stark raving mad at this point and who knows what she will do now that she is free from her prison. Because she is about as unpredictable as they come and eager to reclaim her throne and that grand escape will absolutely motivate us to watch the next episode the instant it airs next Friday. So, we can see what other big and beautiful moments await us in the final season of this brilliant show. Until next time. Written by John Edward Betancourt It is definitely safe to say, that Apple TV+ is taking the streaming world by storm right now. For not only does this streaming network offer up some of the most unique and engaging shows out there, it’s also an award-winning streaming network now, courtesy of the Academy Award it landed for the original film, Coda. A win that put all eyes on Apple TV+ and motivated so many of us to just dig into everything they have to offer, since the quality of that motion picture, and its most popular shows reminded us to just sit back and enjoy quality storytelling about life, people, and everything in between. In fact, it just so happens that we are inching toward another Apple TV+ series that will explore another unique corner of the human condition in Shantaram. For this series, which debuts on Apple TV+ on October 14, 2022, and features Charlie Hunnam as its lead… plans to explore some of the grittier aspects of who we are in dark times. Since Charlie’s character, Lin Ford, is running from a lot and well… since we are inching closer and closer to the release date of this series, Apple TV+ believes it is worthwhile to begin to pepper out a sampling of what this series has to offer, such as this first-look clip from the show. One that features Charlie and actor Shubham Saraf, so that you can have an idea of what to expect from what will be another brilliant series from a powerhouse network. Written by Shae Rufe
Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 303 of ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
The crew of the Cerritos find themselves on Jengus IV, a planet inhabited by the Scrubble. These rock-like creatures were discovered when scientists went missing, encased in rock themselves. Turns out, the Scrubble have Mines that read Minds and pull out the dreams of anyone who comes near them. Touch these dreams, however, and end up encased in rock. It’s totally fine, however, because Starfleet is there to foster negotiations and bring peace. The Cerritos and the Carlsbad are staying behind to coordinate the moving of the Starfleet outpost on the planet. Mariner, Boimler, and Rutherford are sent down to help. Tendi is busy meeting with her new mentor who’s to help with her senior science training. Dr. Migleemo is the last person she expected. It’s not what she wanted, and now she’s missing all the fun planet side! The crew of the Cerritos is tasked with removing the fantasy mines while the crew of the Carlsbad is set to dismantle the outpost. Seems a bit unfair, but surely, they can all bond over it right? Wrong. The crew of the Carlsbad makes it clear they want nothing to do with Cerritos’ crew. Mariner takes personal offense to this, considering how hard they all do work. Okay, they break a few rules here and there, sure. But nothing bad enough to warrant that level of disrespect. To add insult to injury, one of the mines gets activated and we see Rutherford’s dream. Is it to design Starships and Warp Cores with Dr. Leah Brahms? Yes. Yes, it is. It earns him some teasing from Boimler, until his own fantasy comes to life. Being asked by an Admiral to fight the Borg? Who can resist that! Mariner even makes fun of him, until her own appears. Which is Jennifer, in a bikini, asking if she’d like to watch her yell at Ransom. Does she want Jennifer to be her hot girlfriend? Oh, she definitely does.
On the Cerritos, Tendi has been tasked with getting the captain’s attention by her mentor. All while Captain Freeman and the Captain of the Carlsbad are the ones to barter negotiations between the Scrubble and the Scientists. The captains end up fighting over a statue the Scrubble give them, more so on who should take it really. Tendi has her work cut out for her. Back on Jengus IV, the Cerritos crew is almost done cleaning the Mines in their race to beat the Carlsbad crew. This leads to the Mines breaking when they’re knocked over, Stevens gets turned to stone, and instead of dreams, it’s nightmares now. Both crews end up running and hiding in a cave.
That’s when the Carlsbad crew admits to really admiring the Cerritos crew for their bravery and rule breaking ways. They’ll have to work together if they’re going to get out of here. The cave they end up in, is suspiciously full of Starfleet technology, that can’t be a coincidence. And it’s not. On the Cerritos, as the captains keep fighting for who takes the statue, Tendi is forced to step in and break it wide open, revealing a listening device in it. Tendi explains that she’d picked up a strange signal coming from the device. Turns out the lead scientist and Scrubble were planning to sell Starfleet intel. These negotiations took a whole new turn. In the end. Both crews are safe, and they might just have some newfound friends. They even grab drinks together after everything that happened. Good natured teasing follows, and the Lower Deckers learn about how their skills are seen as legendary amongst other Ensigns. Well, except for Boimler. Apparently, he’s touted as being a wise cracking robot. Really though, Boims is a badass in his own right. Written by John Edward Betancourt
Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 205 of ‘Good Grief’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
Something that is genuinely fascinating about stories that feature the fresh start in life, is how little they say about the catalyst moment when a person begins to choose to move forward and start over. Sure, there are big events that prompt it, such as a major life change, or heartbreak and/or loss. But the exact moment when someone realizes they can have a different path with some serious work eludes storytellers when honestly it shouldn’t. Because there really is a genuine moment that opens our eyes and informs us of the need for change and knowing what that might be, could help someone when they are struggling to find direction. But thankfully, not all stories subscribe to that edict. Since the next episode of Good Grief on Sundance Now provided that particular moment for Gwen and it could not have come at a better time. For early on in ‘Empty Nest’, Gwen was still… in her dark place. For she was still mad at her mom for kicking her out and for doing little to welcome her back in. But she did recognize that perhaps she should try and be better to the point where she made an attempt to apologize to her mother and Stu, only to lose her temper when she found out why she was tossed onto the street in the first place. Which kept her soul bubbling with fury, that was until… an important moment took place at the parlor. For while Ellie was uh… enjoying some quiet private shower time with the plumber, Gwen was forced to help out a client. A nice woman named Robin who had arrived at the parlor to make plans for her own funeral. For she was dying of cancer and did not want her family worrying about such matters. A move that brought Gwen to tears and also… allowed for her to spend time with Robin and learn about her unique perspectives on life. Such as how important it was to live in the moment and just enjoy life and let anger go and that touched Gwen so deeply, that it awoke something within her. In fact, one could say, that was ‘the moment’. Where she gained perspective on her life and where it was going and what needed to change. Which was quite the breakthrough for certain, one that was oddly reinforced by Ellie’s actions in this tale. For while Gwen was hiding in her sister’s closet to scare the crap out of her, because why not? Mom showed up and talked negatively about Gwen, and Ellie… came to her sister’s defense. And was quick to point how mom did some toxic things when it came to parenting and was taking part in some toxic behaviors now and that… blew Gwen away. Because for some time now she has felt akin to a screw up and failure and believed that no one had faith in her. But her sister did, and that too… seemed to change her demeanor and set the stage… for growth and a push to finally start over and find her true north. But what matters more, is that the moment such an epiphany took place was present here. Making it clear that such moments do matter, and we should reflect and celebrate upon them when they become apparent. For they help us to focus on what we need and can guide us when we feel we are lost and that made for one beautiful tale. One that went a little lighter on the comedy here, but that’s not a bad thing. Because at this point we are vested in the family’s growth and the growth of the parlor and getting all that here… was just as good as a gag and well, now that Gwen is moving in the right direction at last, it will be interesting to see what kind of person she starts to become in the season two finale. Until next time.
