We are living in quite the amazing time when it comes to interstellar travel right now. For we are bearing witness to the bare beginnings of our outreach to the stars. For private firms are working hard at creating consumer travel through space and of course, NASA is preparing to return to the moon to establish a colony there as part of bigger plans. The kind that involves astronauts exploring our own solar system and of course, creative minds everywhere are pondering upon what such moves would mean for humanity, and our future, and the human condition, and one creative mind and network in particular… are preparing to launch their take on such matters.
For earlier today, AMC+ announced that a new series from the brilliant writer, Peter Ocko, revolving around our future in space and the colonizing of the moon, entitled Moonhaven, will be coming to the network this summer and well… without further ado… here is some casting news, a synopsis, and a teaser trailer for this series for you to enjoy, courtesy of AMC+. ‘AMC+ is taking viewers to the moon with the upcoming, new suspense thriller, Moonhaven from creator/showrunner Peter Ocko (Lodge 49, Black Sails, Elementary). A teaser trailer released today, offers a first-look at the series set in a utopian colony on the moon that may hold the keys to preserving life on Earth, which has become increasingly perilous. Moonhaven features an acclaimed ensemble cast including Emma McDonald (Queens of Mystery), Dominic Monaghan (Lost) Amara Karan (Doctor Who), Ayelet Zurer (Losing Alice), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Kadeem Hardison (Black Monday), and Yazzmin Newell (The Last Tree). The six-episode series will debut Thursday, June 30 exclusively on AMC+. Moonhaven centers on Bella Sway (McDonald), a lunar cargo pilot and smuggler 100 years in the future who finds herself accused of a crime and marooned on Moonhaven, a utopian community set on a 500 square mile Garden of Eden built on the Moon to find solutions to the problems that will soon end civilization on Mother Earth. A skeptic in Paradise, Bella is sucked into a conspiracy to gain control of the artificial intelligence responsible for Moonhaven's miracles and teams with a local detective to stop the forces that want to destroy Earth's last hope before they are destroyed themselves. An AMC Studios production, Moonhaven is executive produced by Ocko and Deb Spera, who is a non-writing executive producer.’
