Because now, with the advent of upgraded camera systems and wireless technology, we can experience moments in real time that we could not experience before. Such as seeing the Artemis missions play out, giving us perspective on how space travel works and what space looks like. Not to mention, we are getting images back from the James Webb Space Telescope at an incredible pace, allowing for us to quickly get new views on the galaxies that lie beyond and our ability to see these on our wireless devices is letting us learn on the fly. In fact, technology is doing so much for science and our understanding of the cosmos that it is about to help everyone in America, experience a total eclipse of the sun on Monday, May 8, 2024. For ABC and National Geographic are going to hold a very special televised event entitled, Eclipse Across America. Wherein anyone that didn’t travel to the Central United States or Mexico to see the eclipse will be able to do so via this live broadcast and via technology and well, to properly prepare you for this live event, here are all the details on broadcast times and everything else you need to know. To experience the wonder of the eclipse and speak to the science with your friends and family in real time, courtesy of ABC, National Geographic, and the wonder of technology. ‘On Monday, April 8, at least 32 million people across America will find themselves in the path of a total solar eclipse, where the moon will completely block the sun in what will be the last of its kind in the U.S. until 2044. To celebrate this rare moment, ABC News and National Geographic announcethe unparalleled event “Eclipse Across America,” airing live Monday, April 8, beginning at 2:00 p.m. EDT on ABC, ABC News Live, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD, Disney+ and Hulu as well as network social media platforms. The special will be anchored by “World News Tonight” anchor David Muir and “ABC News Live Prime” anchor Linsey Davis, who will be reporting live from Burlington, Vermont. Nat Geo talent Mariana van Zeller (“Trafficked”) and Nat Geo Explorers photographer Cristina Mittermeier (“Photographer”), astrophotographer Babak Tafreshi, and astrophysicists Jedidah Isler and Ved Chirayath will be on site to show viewers how to safely observe and photograph eclipses and break down the science and history behind them.
