Written by John Edward BetancourtThere's something to be said for the shows we love. They not only inspire us, and drive us but they are also a fantastic gateway to drawing us to new forms of entertainment, often times because of the cast. We fall in love with our favorite stars and they bring us along for the ride. One such television show that did that for me was Star Trek: The Next Generation. I was always impressed with the cast and where ever they went I was quick to follow. Lo and behold, I made sure to follow Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis when it was announced that they would be joining an animated television show known as Gargoyles and not only did they impress, but so did the show. Having two TNG cast members was more than a gimmick, they were part of a rich tapestry being made before our eyes. Gargoyles was a whip smart television show, ahead of its time and gone from the airwaves quicker than the fans would have liked. So leave it to the amazing Denver Comic Con to let us reminisce about this awesome program by bringing about a 20th Anniversary Reunion! That's right, Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman returns to Denver Comic Con for his second straight year and he will be joined in this reunion by two of the cast members; Salli Richardson-Whitfield who voiced Elisa Maza and Thom Adcox-Hernandez who voiced Lexington. It should make for an incredible reunion, especially when you look at the rich careers of the three names mentioned above. Greg is now the Executive Producer of the upcoming Star Wars: Rebels and his first novel Rain of the Ghosts was released last December. Salli of course played Dr. Allison Blake in Syfy's Eureka and has appeared in some pretty epic motion pictures. She was in I Am Legend with Will Smith and Antwone Fisher with Denzel Washington. Thom is also well known for his voice work in The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat and Young Justice: Legacy. If you need a face to go with the name, you can see his live action work in Under Siege 2: Dark Territory. This is an incredible lineup for such a beloved show, but as always, Denver Comic Con isn't done yet. After all? what's one good reunion without another panel filled with the original stars? Yes, in addition to bringing one incredible cast together, DCC is also bringing together the cast of an incredibly beloved video game franchise; Mass Effect. Raphael Sbarge, Mark Meer & Kimberly Brooks will all take the stage at DCC this June. For those who may not have played the game but the names sound familiar they should. Raphael not only played Kaidan Alenko in Mass Effect & Mass Effect 2, he also played Carth Onasi in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic & Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Mark played Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect series and you can also hear his voice in the Baldur's Gate and Dragon Age series as well. Kimberly voiced Ashley Williams in Mass Effect and you would also recognize her voice from Batman: Arkham Asylum & Batman: Arkham City. All in all, these are some incredible announcements from Denver Comic Con. It definitely leaves you wondering what other incredible guests they have up their sleeve and I can't wait to see what else is around the corner. June cannot come soon enough!
