Truly one of the best aspects of attending comic conventions in this day and age, is the sheer fact that they are now a great source for pop culture news. Since so many studios and networks unveil special content for those in attendance to enjoy, and that just adds a special layer to an already special weekend, and it just so happens that AMC Networks offered up all kinds of wonderful news and gifts for fans of The Walking Dead Universe in attendance at New York Comic Con this week.

For on Friday, they took the time to showcase the first fourteen minutes of the upcoming new episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol. Something that fans absolutely enjoyed after last week’s ominous ending to the show. Plus, we also received some news regarding season two of The Walking Dead: Dead City. Such as when the show will return, along with some new photos and a new teaser and well, since not everyone got the chance to enjoy this in person, here are all the details, photos and teaser from today’s event, to celebrate some delightful news from the world of The Walking Dead.

‘Today, The Walking Dead Universe took over New York Comic Con’s Main Stage with panels for The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol.

The Walking Dead: Dead City season two panel featured the Walking Dead Universe Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple, executive producers and stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan, and cast members Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek and Dascha Polanco and was moderated by Chris Jericho (eight-time World Champion, Killed By Art The Clown in the number one movie in America, Terrifier 3, and New York Times bestseller).  During the panel, which debuted a new season two teaser and photography, it was announced that the highly anticipated second season will return in Spring 2025 on AMC and AMC+.

Immediately following, filmmaker Robert Rodriguez moderated a panel for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol, featuring Gimple, executive producer showrunner David Zabel, director and executive producer Greg Nicotero, executive producers and stars Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, and cast member Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, who discussed the show’s epic second season, currently airing Sundays on AMC and AMC+. The opening minutes of the season's fourth episode, premiering this Sunday, October 20 at 9 pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+, were shown in-room.

The Walking Dead: Dead City follows fan-favorite characters Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror. In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol picks up where season one left off, following fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon (Reedus) and Carol Peletier (McBride). They both confront old demons while she fights to find her friend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest. Additionally, Genet (Anne Charrier)’s movement builds momentum, setting Pouvoir on a violent collision course with the Union of Hope in the fight for France's future.'

PictureThe second season of Apple’s global hit, world-building drama “Silo” will premiere globally Friday, November 15 on Apple TV+.
Truly, the Apple TV+ series, Silo, was an absolute breath of fresh when it debuted on the network last year. For this was that outlier dystopia story. One that properly blended real-world concerns together with a plot and a setting that felt natural and possible. Not to mention, it harbored an amazing cast, an equally as amazing mystery, and it was so well written and so outright incredible, that it quickly became a runaway hit. One that garnered a second season that we only know a little of. Simply because the team behind the show has been hard at work getting the show together after strike delays.

But at long last, we now know more about the show, courtesy of San Diego Comic Con. For earlier today, cast members Rebecca Ferguson, Common, show creator Graham Yost and writer of the original novel Hugh Howey appeared on stage at SDCC, with special guest and season two cast member Steve Zahn, to discuss all things Silo, and reveal that November 15th will be the show’s season two premiere date. Alongside dropping some first look photos from season two and well, since you’re a fan and want to know more… here are all the details on this news and those photos, to help you count down the days until season two arrives.

‘Today at San Diego Comic-Con, Apple TV+ announced that its acclaimed global hit, world-building drama “Silo” will return for its second season on Friday, November 15, and that Steve Zahn (“White Lotus”), will join the cast for season two. The 10-episode season of “Silo” will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first episode, followed by one new episode every Friday through January 17, 2025.

Based on Howey’s New York Times bestselling trilogy “Wool,” “Silo” is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and those who try to find out face fatal consequences. Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one's murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don't kill you, the truth will.

In addition to Ferguson, Common and Zahn, “Silo” season two stars Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McCrae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie, and Iain Glen.

Watching Melissa shine along with our brilliant cast and crew has been one of my fondest memories playing this character. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it and we can’t wait to keep the story going.”

McBride said: “I’m really appreciating the new challenges for Daryl and Carol being so far from all they’ve ever known… what it means for them, what it brings for each of them, apart and together. There’s still so much ahead to unpack in France for the coming season two, and a breathtaking finale. And now Spain! I already know that David Zabel’s storytelling is making the most of all that is so beautiful and unique to Spain. We start shooting there in just a few weeks… such excitement looking forward!”

Said Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer for The Walking Dead Universe: “France made Daryl and Carol’s story into an epic poem with what we found there. What’s to come in Spain may even surpass it — and we’re so damn happy to bring the audience more of the Terrific Two alongside new compelling characters, in a yet unseen, beautiful, horrific corner of their broken world.”

Zabel said: “We are all very excited to continue the epic and intimate story of these two friends Daryl and Carol trying to get back home. Exploring new spectacular European settings, we look forward to dramatizing the ways in which the Walker apocalypse has done to Spain what it did to France.”

Season two of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Book of Carol will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on September 29. When season one premiered in late 2023, it quickly became the #1 most-viewed premiere of all time on AMC+, the most-viewed season of any show in the history of AMC+ and a top acquisition driver in both the U.S. and Spain. It has only been eclipsed by The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live in those categories.

Truly, The Walking Dead: Dead City, was one of the most refreshing zombie stories to hit the airwaves in years for several reasons. For starters, it took us into the heart of a Manhattan ruled by the living dead, something that really hasn’t ever been seen in zombie themed fiction and it of course, brought forth a complex next chapter for two beloved characters in the franchise. Wherein Maggie and Negan had to face their complicated and brutal past and find a way to forge ahead and question… if real change is possible for people. A question that led to an amazing cliffhanger that we’ve been eager to see resolved.

But alas, we must wait until next year for that to happen. But thankfully, we have our first real taste of what we can expect from season two of this magnificent show. For earlier today at San Diego Comic Con, AMC Networks unveiled quite the epic first look at season two of this show. One that included a fantastic teaser trailer, the announcement of four new cast members, alongside some first-look photos and details on this new season. All of which we will share with you now. Because you’re as hungry as a walker for news regarding this show and it would be cruel to make you wait any longer.

'Today, AMC Networks’ The Walking Dead Universe returned to Comic-Con International’s Hall H with a star-studded panel for The Walking Dead: Dead City, moderated by Chris Hardwick. Executive Producer Eli Jorné, Executive Producers and Stars Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Cast Members Gaius Charles and Željko Ivanek surprised fans with an exclusive new teaser and casting announcements for season two, which returns to AMC and AMC+ next year. New images from the series were also released.

Season Two casting announcements include:
  • Keir Gilchrist (Atypical, It Follows), in the role of “Benjamin Pierce”
  • Dascha Polanco (Orange Is the New Black, Poker Face), in the role of “Major Lucia Narvaez”
  • Jake Weary (Oh, Canada, How to Blow Up a Pipeline), in the role of “Christos”
  • Pooya Mohseni (Law & Order: SVU, See You Then), in the role of “Roksana”

The Walking Dead: Dead City follows fan-favorite characters Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror. In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.'
