Written by: John Edward BetancourtI love Denver Comic Con simply because it is an extremely special convention. Not only is it home grown, but I think the fact that it's founding principle is about helping kids is nothing short of spectacular. As I walked the floor last year, it made the convention all that more fulfilling knowing where this money was going and that all of us just hanging out and getting our geek on was doing good in the world. I was already beyond excited to attend this year, but this recent guest announcement has taken my joy to a whole new level. I mean come on, we're talking about William Shatner here. The man is without a doubt a certified legend when it comes to science fiction and in about one week, he will be in my hometown, and when I heard the news...well let's just say that I can neither confirm nor deny that I was jumping up and down. I'm honestly not sure there are proper words to express just how excited I am that one of my childhood heroes is going to take the stage at DCC 2013 and and I don't think I even need to try. The sheer fact that Mister Shatner will be in attendance this year speaks loudly that Denver Comic Con needs to be taken seriously, because clearly they take all of us seriously and are willing to hang with all of the other big boy cons. Either way, thank you DCC for bringing in the first Captain of the Enterprise that I ever knew and finding new ways to keep me starstruck and as giddy as my former four year old self on Christmas morning. You can also follow Mister Shatner on Twitter; @WilliamShatner and of course keep checking www.denvercomiccon.com for further information on Mister Shatner's upcoming ticket package.

Pictures from the weekend! Starfest was completely awesome, like always, and here are a few of the shots that the Girls of Geek team got over the weekend. |
