Over the course of the past couple of weeks, we’ve talked at length about how the new Prime Video series, Citadel, has done an amazing job of resurrecting pure entertainment programming while paying homage to the spy stories of old, and rightfully so. Because that’s exactly what the first three episodes of of this spy epic have sent our way and it has made… for a fun and wild experience. One filled to the brim with big moments and juicy reveals. But alas, while a trip down 007 Memory Lane has been fun, as have the stunning action sequences and surprises we’ve enjoyed, modern audiences do want more from their storytelling and the next episode of this delightful saga… opted to provide everyone with just that. For to date, we still don’t know how Citadel was compromised or how it fell in such a swift and brutal manner and well… ‘Tell Her Everything’ is a story that opted to finally expand upon that and potentially give us an answer to that particular conundrum. A feat this story accomplished by having Nadia and Mason Kane infiltrate a Manticore black site and secure it to rescue their comrade in arms, Carter Spence. And well, coming face to face with Nadia and Mason, disturbed him deeply. For he was convinced, seemingly, that Mason was the man responsible for the fall of Citadel and the fear and chaos that now gripped the world and well… since Mason had no idea what happened months ago, the story opted to fill us on who the Mole might be. All by taking us back in time ten years to explore… a critical meeting for Mason. For shortly after he and Nadia gave into their desire for one another, Mason was put in charge of a valuable asset named Celeste. Who we know as Abby and who Anders knows as Brielle and well… it was this mission that made her someone special to Anders. For she was tasked by Citadel to get near him and love him and get him to trust her, because Anders was working closely with nefarious individuals on creating a digital skeleton key, named the Oz Key, that could hack the infrastructure of any country, and of course… that mission went about as well as one might expect. Since Celeste basically went silent and that forced Mason to call in a strike team to clean up this mess and well, the aftermath of that assault/rescue mission, made it seem as though Celeste was compromised. For the Oz Key was nowhere to be found, and Celeste’s unwillingness to discuss what happened, not only prompted the wiping of her memory to keep secrets safe, which would lead to Abby, but really did make Mason appear to be at fault for the fall of Citadel. Since it appeared as though, he was too late in getting to Celeste. But as the fallout of her ‘betrayal’ continued along, it became clear to Carter, that something more was at play here. In that, it seemed as though, Mason made Celeste a proverbial patsy, one designed to smoke out the real mole, who appeared to be… Nadia. For her fingerprints were all over some odd transmissions and it seemed as though this gambit was to protect a love and to buy Mason time to prove that Nadia was not the potential monster that the evidence made her out to be. However, we were not privy to the truth regarding that matter, just implication and that’s okay. Because it compels us to continue the journey to learn the real identity of the mole and to see if wrongs can be righted through justice. But while we wait for the truth, we can revel in one delicious tale. One that really expand upon what brought down this powerful organization and finally allowed for the ever-talented Ashleigh Cummings to do more from an acting perspective, and she most certainly delivered here, and added real depth to a spy story that is quickly becoming grounded in the nature and the power of betrayal. And it will indeed be interesting to see where the revelations put forth here take us in the weeks to come, as this wondrous spy drama continues along. Until next time.
