For earlier, Acorn TV let it be known that a third season of this magnificent crime series has been greenlit and shooting is underway now. Which means that we will all soon be treated to four more mini movies that explore the nature of crime and its impact, alongside more amazing character growth for Max and his intrepid team of gumshoes, and well… to provide this news with the proper justice it deserves, here are all the details on this magnificent announcement, courtesy of Acorn TV. ‘AMC Networks’ popular streamer, Acorn TV, and ZDF today announced a third season order from Expectation for the hit UK mystery drama series, The Chelsea Detective. Filming is currently underway in and around London with Adrian Scarborough (Killing Eve, The King’s Speech, 1917) and Vanessa Emme (Dublin Murders, Three Families) reprising their roles as Detective Inspector Max Arnold and Detective Sergeant Layla Walsh, respectively. The third season of the 4 x 90-minute much-loved series sees DI Max Arnold (Scarborough) and DS Layla Walsh (Emme) delving once more into the murky crimes of glamorous Chelsea including the tragic death of a 2000s popstar, the impenetrable world of the US Embassy, the splendor of Kew Gardens, a classical music academy, and a climate scientist found dead in a supercar. This season, Max tries a new approach in his personal life as he embarks on couples therapy with his estranged wife, Astrid (Anamaria Marinca). Meanwhile, Layla is still getting used to living in London, whilst her partner, Jon, is in Exeter. They might be enjoying their independent lives right now but will discover that navigating a long-distance relationship can be trickier than they first thought.
