As the Con season reaches an end, Rocky Mountain Con is in the books. Being a first year Con, I did not know what to expect going to the first year at Denver Comic Con and the 45th year of Mile High Con but I must admit I was very impressed. The layout for Rocky Mountain Con was fantastic, tons of space for the vendors along for the artists was just fantastic. Brining in such names of Arthur Suydam and Jason Metcalf for the ultimate comic book lovers was great. Also an appearance by wrestling legend Big Van Vader left little more to be desired. Artists surrounded the event floor making this one of the most prolific art shows ever seen. With great talents such as Robert Elrod, Todd Jones and one of my new favorites Shelby Robertson, prints, originals along with custom art was to be viewed by all. Having time to sit back and talk to the artists is something that I always enjoy. Of course while the bigd Having time to talk with one of your comic/artist icons without being rushed out of the conversation makes an event like this very special. If artwork is not up your alley, some Cos Players were gracious enough to join the event as well. Erin Card, Destiny Nickelsen, Ivy Doomkitty, Nicole Marie Jean and Elizabeth Wither made the event special for many people. Not knowing exactly what Cos Play is in my short tenure for these events, these characters are very entertaining to talk to. Making sure to talk with their fans and take pictures with any and all that come to their booths was just amazing to watch. Thank you to our friends at the Points of Interest team. Enjoying a con with your friends is really the only way to experience this kind of event. Being a blogger of what I read or watch, it was a joy watching my friend Josh work his magic at the booths as he asked questions to what the guests thoughts were and what they would like to see going forward. A true professional at work. Overall this was a great Con. With the artists that attended this year, I must say that my art collection did not grow once again. Donating a portion of the proceeds raised to the Aurora Rise foundation is another great reason to have made it down. I hope Rocky Mountain Con comes back next year with the same quality of guests.
