Written by John Edward Betancourt This piece was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the many shows being covered here wouldn’t exist. For the most part, activations and interactive experiences at Comic Conventions and Festivals, tend to be focused on one particular franchise. All so that the fans of that particular series or franchise can step into that world and enjoy everything it has to offer in a delightful and engaging manner, and fans absolutely enjoy these experiences. To the point where they are quickly growing in demand. Which means that studios and networks have to offer more of them, the kind that cater to wider audiences so they too can enjoy the wonder of them and one particular network of note that is stepping up their game regarding this is NBC, and the NBCUniversal family. For their ‘Quantum Leap’ Activation at San Diego Comic-Con 2023 didn’t just plunge fans into the world of the hit series, Quantum Leap. Wherein everyone worked together to stabilize the timelines to buy the Time Team enough precious moments to free Ziggy of a virus. They also stepped into the worlds of Law & Order, SVU, Organized Crime, and Chucky. Making for one epic adventure across multiple beloved franchises and well… to give you an idea of how incredible this activation is, and to potentially help fans at SDCC step into all those worlds, here are a bevy of photos from the ‘Quantum Leap’ Activation, courtesy of NBC.

Written by John Edward Betancourt This piece was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the series and exhibit being covered here wouldn’t exist. One of the best parts of going to a comic convention in this day and age, is being able to see all the incredible exhibits that various companies set up. Simply because studios, and gaming companies, go all out in creating an immersive experience for the fans. Where the world they love and adore comes to life, and that really does put a smile on our faces and gives us plenty to snap pictures of and talk about with our friends and it just so happens, that AMC Networks assembled an amazing one for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. For yesterday, the Anne Rice Immortal Universe Experience and Activation opened up at SDCC, wherein fans of Interview with the Vampire were able to experience recreated locations from the show, complete with characters, interactive exhibits and so much more. And well… since not everyone is in San Diego right now enjoying the convention or might be there and may not be aware of this event, AMC Networks was kind enough to supply us, with photos from day one at the Immortal Universe Experience, and some details on the event and its SDCC schedule. To grace those who cannot make it with its wonder and help those on site … to take part in a magnificent immersive experience. ‘On Wednesday, July 19, AMC Networks kicked off San Diego Comic-Con with a special preview night of a new Anne Rice Immortal Universe fan experience and activation inspired by the network’s critically acclaimed series Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire and Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches. The Hilton Gaslamp Terrace was transformed into “The Street of Immortality,” a New Orleans-inspired immersive experience, which features several photo and video opportunities along the route, including iconic locations from Interview with the Vampire such as Hotel Iberville and Nawlins Records. Attendees can tour the street, collect exclusive souvenirs and premiums, and enjoy “The Elixir of Immortality,” a limited-edition mocktail presented by POM Wonderful. The activation is free and for all ages, and will be open to the public on Thursday, July 20, Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22 from 11:00am – 7:00pm PT.
