Written by John Edward Betancourt Just like that, football fans, Week 6 in the NFL in the books and let’s be honest… there is a bit of a sour vibe hanging over this week’s games. Because at times, the product on the field was not good in the slightest. Not to mention, there were more temper tantrums from a great and more surprise injuries and that overshadowed some of the better moments from the weekend. But alas what’s done is done and if anything, the good, the bad and the downright ugly gave us plenty to talk about. So, let’s do just that and revisit all of the above from Week 6 in the NFL. The New York Giants are the real deal. In good news this week, the Giants wowed us once again. Because they hung with the Baltimore Ravens, who are a very good football team, from beginning to end. Courtesy of some solid defense when it counted and a wondrous offensive performance that did just enough to lock up the win and well, that settles it. The Giants are a legitimate contender this year and they are going to be tough to beat. Because new Head Coach Brian Daboll has this team believing in his scheme and more importantly, these men believe in themselves for the first time ever, and they play fearlessly because of that, and that is going to take them far this season. The Eagles are the team to beat in the NFL. It’s funny how not that long ago, there were concerns and questions surrounding Jalen Hurts. Some wondered if he was NFL ready, some wondered if he needed to be traded and enjoy a fresh start. But it turns out all the kid needed, was time. Time to adjust to the NFL, and all the quirks that come with playing quarterback at the pro level. And when you take his understanding of the game and throw some weapons his way, and surround him with a stout defense… what you get is some incredible play from the QB that everyone was ready to abandon and oh yeah, he’s the face of the last undefeated team in the NFL. For the Eagles are indeed 6-0 and the team to beat in the NFL, and while their streak won’t last, make no mistake about it… they’re the best team in the league and they are going to be a force to be reckoned with in 2022. New year, same struggles for the Denver Broncos. There was a lot of hope surrounding the Broncos this offseason. After all, they finally hired a young gun coach, had a great draft, and even traded for a franchise quarterback that still had some miles left in the tank and well… that hope is now all gone. For the Broncos offense is utterly offensive and the new franchise quarterback looks confused and lost and unsure of his decisions. Plus, this team is undisciplined, and well… where the Broncos go from here is anyone’s guess. But make no mistake about it, there needs to be some accountability in Denver and some changes to get this team rolling. Because this is just unacceptable, and if it continues along, don’t be shocked if the new ownership group becomes a little more hands on and makes some sweeping and drastic changes from the top, down, to return this team to glory. Once again, Thursday Night Football is a grand disappointment. One cannot help but feel bad for Prime Video and their TNF production team. Because they went all out to create a top-tier show in record time, since they assembled a group of great producers and pre-game hosts and they even landed Al Michaels as a commentator, who is just a legend in this business. Only to be saddled with a rough schedule. Because the league did them dirty with a bevy of games that feature bad teams and the product on the field has been ridiculously sub-par and well, the league needs to do something, anything, to change that. So that their new broadcast partner is properly supported and so the Thursday Night game is regarded as something more than a dumping ground for bad games. Tom Brady is making a mockery of his legacy right now. At this point, it doesn’t really matter why Tom Brady came back to the game or whether or not this is his last season. What matters more in 2022 is the sheer fact that one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game is sullying his storied legacy right now. Because he keeps having temper tantrums on the field and on the sidelines, something that is not becoming of a 45-year-old QB that has seen it all and done it all, and to make matters worse, he’s demanding better of his teammates when he isn’t willing to put in the work. Since he ripped his offensive line a new one, despite missing practice and walkthroughs before the game to attend the Kraft wedding and well… he needs to do better. Because with his resume, he should be nothing short of a shining beacon regardless of whether or not he’s planning on playing for one year or five. So, hopefully the ‘GOAT’ gets his head out of his backside and grows up and plays like the professional we know he is before everyone remembers him in a negative light. One ugly enough to overshadow his amazing accomplishments.
