The NFL Roundup 2017 - Week 10 - The Most Fascinating Games to Watch on Sunday

​There are really three specific occasions in the NFL season where everything is a touch more exciting than football fans are normally used to. The first one is Kickoff Weekend, the second is the beginning of the Playoffs because…it’s the playoffs and really, the third is Week 10 because that’s when the Playoff race gets underway. Suddenly the games are a whole lot more exciting as teams do their best to secure a berth in the tournament and really, that’s what we are going to be focusing on today. Games that are going to feature some serious competition as teams do their best to reach the postseason.

Los Angeles Chargers (3-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)
Everbank Field – Jacksonville, FL
1:00 p.m. EST – CBS

​Okay, I know what you’re thinking. There’s no way a game featuring a below .500 team can in any way be exciting or playoff related. However, nothing in the AFC is set in stone right now, and the Chargers are damn good at spoiling seasons and defeating quality teams when they least expect it and they still have a chance at reaching the postseason and honestly, I think the feisty attitude that Los Angeles brings to the field is going to make for a far more exciting game than one might expect. Because I really get the funny feeling that the Chargers are going to keep this game close as they their do their best to play the spoiler. So, if anything, I’m expecting this one to be a high scoring affair, and please don’t be shocked if Los Angeles pulls off quite the upset in Jacksonville. 

Minnesota Vikings (6-2) at Washington Redskins (4-4)
FedEx Field – Landover, MD
1:00 p.m. EST – FOX

​Now this game looks interesting simply because it could become quite the competitive battle when all is said and done. After all, the Minnesota Vikings are enjoying a wonderful 6-2 record right now and have demonstrated that they know how to win big games on a regular basis and they are facing off against a resurgent Washington squad that is just now figuring out how to win as a team, something that helped them secure a big win against Seattle. Which means, that since both of these teams are filled to the brim with confidence right now, they’re going to play with some incredible passion and really, I think whichever team keeps their turnovers to a minimum and finds a way to wear down their opponent walks away from this one with the win. 

Dallas Cowboys (5-3) at Atlanta Falcons (4-4)
Mercedes-Benz Stadium – Atlanta, GA
4:25 p.m. EST – FOX

​It’s always a fascinating storyline when two teams that should be enjoying a better season than their records reflect square off on the football field simply because the fans get a chance to see what those teams are truly made of, and in this instance, we’re looking at two teams that simply aren’t mentally tough. They both buy into their own hype machine far too often, and they tend to fold when real adversity presents itself in game situations. Which means, this is a grand opportunity for both of these squads to put those concerns to bed by coming out and playing some quality football and it should be interesting to see which one of these two teams figures out how to properly handle a challenge, and shows us some mental toughness as well and the first team to put their fear aside is the one that leaves this game with a victory under their belt. 

New England Patriots (6-2) at Denver Broncos (3-5)
Sports Authority Field at Mile High – Denver, CO
Sunday Night Football – 8:30 p.m. EST – NBC

​The teams featured in this one are more than enough to make this game fascinating since they always provide us with a thrilling matchup, but there is more to this one than just adding another chapter to the rivalry, both of these teams have a lot to prove. The Patriots have really only enjoyed a couple of decisive wins this season, since most of their victories have come about by way of stupid mistakes from their opponents and they really haven’t faced a top-notch defense for that matter either. But with the Broncos reeling from three straight losses, and a prideful defense looking to rebound, Denver’s D could make life hell for Tom Brady. But really, this game will more or less be decided by the Broncos offense, and if the lackluster one we’ve unfortunately grown accustomed to shows up on Sunday Night, expect the Patriots to win and win big.
