Written by Shae RufeDuring my travels to find the best geeky gifts to share with you guys, I have seen a lot of interesting nerd themed things out there, but one of my most recent finds just happens be for the pet variety. After all, our little fuzzy companions deserve to be geeks too! Honestly, I should have thought to do one of these sooner! After all, my dog used to have a Pirates of the Caribbean logo name tag on his collar! Speaking of collars, Fido can have his very own Lord of the Rings, 'The One Ring' inspired collar! The Elvish lettering glows in the dark, and this fashionable collar is certainly not going to make your dog disappear, but hey! They could go on an epic adventure across Middle Earth! You can find this unique dog collar on Etsy. But if Lord of the Rings isn't your particular nerd style or maybe your dog doesn't like Hobbits, there's no need to worry. Pup can dress it up in a variety of geeky themed collars. Maybe he's feeling Batman-ish or wants to get his Star Wars on! Personally, my favorite is the Star Trek one! You can find it on Amazon, and they come in Commander Gold, Red, and of course Blue. These collars also come with their own tags, and that means your dog can either be a Captain, an Engineer, or a Science officer. Whatever you're looking for to help geek up your dog, a collar certainly says a lot about your taste as well as theirs! For more nerdy pet collars and leashes, feel free to check out SuperHeroStuff.com. While there, I happened to find a few pet beds that caught my eye, particularly the Captain America Shield and since I always have the cats to spoil, and I'm pretty sure Avenger would look nice laying in his Captain's Chair pet bed from Amazon. While Shadow seems more of the Shark bed type. After all, cats are just as important, and they like to get their nerd on too! Cats, however, are not like dogs, and some don't like to wear collars. I can tell you, my boys are not a fan. Though, these pet leashes and collars can apply to cats. They even make geeky harnesses if you're not a fan of collars to walk your pet. And, I've heard rumors that many people have actually leash trained their cats, I however, have not. Because Cats have a mind of their own and they often enjoy sleeping in weird places, hiding without ever being found, and of course, climbing on everything. So, why not get them something they can climb, scratch, and hide in! There's a Super Mario cat complex can be secured to any wall and gives your cat something to play with. It also offers as a really cool wall decoration that is bound to get your friends, family, and neighbors curious. Not to mention, it just looks really cool. I kind of want one for my cats, but I don't want to drill more holes in the walls of my home. I may have to rethink that though… Now, what would be the ultimate pet gift? Toys of course! Whether you have a dog, or a cat, there is always the option to dress your pet up in anything nerdy. Come Halloween there is always an assortment of costumes to put your beloved furry friend in. But of course, outside of that awesome holiday, there are a wide array of pet t-shirts for your little pooch or feline. Found on Amazon, Etsy, and you can also find some nerd themed pet clothing at Spencer's and even Petsmart. They may not always be in stock, but you never know until you try. As for chew toys, Amazon has you covered. Why settle for any old chew-toy when you can get your dog a lovely Zombie foot to gnaw on. Or maybe they want a Klingon to rip the stuffing out of. Let's not forget about the cat! Since I found something I've never even heard of; catnip bubbles. That's right, you can blow catnip flavored bubbles at your cat, and it's completely okay for them. They may even love you more for it. If that's not up your alley, that's alright, you can keep your kitten entertained with an automatic laser pointer! If you're brave enough, you can even attempt to put an inflatable unicorn horn on your cat. If you're a George Takei fan, you've probably heard about this, and seen his review, but yes my friends, you can turn your majestic cat into a blood thirsty wild beast with a horn! I'm certainly not brave enough to try this! All right guys, for more pet friendly accessories check out the above sites, and if you find a fun geeky item for your pet that I haven't mentioned, please feel free to hit me up on Twitter @SoraLostSoul, or on any of the Nerds That Geek media.
