Realm Announces Release Date for New Horror Podcast ‘The Sisters’

It really is quite amazing; how much horror content now pops up this time of year. Because it wasn’t that long ago, that the scariest stuff we enjoyed in popular media, was a handful of movie marathons of some classic slashers and some classic horror features, alongside the grand presentation of It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. But horror’s stunning popularity has changed all of that, and now… the demand for it has prompted every network from every medium to bring forth something chilling for us to enjoy during spooky season, and that includes podcasts as well, as evidenced by today’s announcement.

For earlier, Realm let it be known that they too are offering up a ghoulish delight for the spookiest of seasons. By way of a new horror podcast entitled, The Sisters, which is based on true events and boasts a magnificent cast, including Mae Whitman. And well, since Realm loves to be a pioneer in such matters, they’re dropping this podcast on the cusp of spooky season by having it release this Friday, September 22nd. Of course, since you’re now quite curious as to what this amazing horror podcast is going to be about, the time has come for you to enjoy all the details regarding this series, courtesy of Realm. ‘Realm, the world’s largest growing independent podcast network with 6000+ hours of audio entertainment, today released the trailer and announced casting for a new supernatural horror series The Sisters, starring Mae Whitman (Parenthood, Good Girls). The stand-alone story premieres Friday, September 22nd, as the latest installment of the hit Undertow podcast and also stars established UK actors Helen Baxendale (Friends) and David Morrissey (The Walking Dead).

Inspired by real events, The Sisters follows Frankie Bradshaw (Whitman) who is the curator of ‘The Mutter’ museum— home of a collection of medical oddities in Philadelphia. When a mysterious skeleton is delivered without explanation, Frankie has her world turned upside down. Eager to discover its origins, she is sucked into a community of Devil worshippers and occultists, as her own demons come back to haunt her.

The Sisters was created by Brett Neichen & John Scott Dryden of Goldhawk Productions, the production company behind a number of successful audio dramas, such as Passenger List, Mumbai Crime, Audible’s Young Blood, and BBC Sounds’ The Cipher.
