Caution: This article contains spoilers for the season finale of ‘Echo 3’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
Over the course of the past few weeks, we’ve talked at length about how the Apple TV+ series, Echo 3, differentiates itself from other stories in this genre and rightfully so. Because week in and week out, this series has shattered tropes from this genre left and right and continues to find new ways to ground the story in realism, and well… that aspect of this series is top of mind today, simply because the show’s season finale once again took the tropes of this type of story to task, by offering us quite the unique and realistic ending to this harrowing and intense story. A feat that ‘Heat’ accomplished by bothering to ask an important question. Specifically, what comes next when the hostage is rescued? Because more often than not in these stories, once the hostage is away from the terror, the story quickly comes to its close. Because that’s that, mission accomplished, happy ending, might as well fade to black and let everyone enjoy the wonder of a job well done by the heroes that saved the day. But this particular tale, takes us well beyond that… to show us the collateral emotional damage that would undoubtedly come forth from a hostage being tortured in such a brutal manner. For Amber just was not herself, and she was terrified and on edge and rightfully so. Because she went through hell in that complex and saw horrible things and you don’t just magically forget that and go home. You suffer, you reconcile, and it was powerful to see her work through such pain here in a compelling and realistic manner. But this episode had more consequences to explore beyond just what happens to the hostage. For this story also informed us, fallout exists from such bold and dangerous actions. Because Colombia and Venezuela almost went to all-out war in this tale, putting so many at risk over the fight to save Amber and that led to more fallout. For Violeta wasn’t going to stand for a sham war, and that prompted her to confront the president and demand action and justice regarding who was really responsible for this mess, Prince and Bambi. Which in turn forced the trio to flee quickly since they were using Violeta’s home as a safe house, and because the president finally listened to what Violeta had to say, and that led… to one last powerhouse action sequence. Wherein the three of them were forced to fight to the death to find their freedom. That in turn, led to another stunning moment in this story. Wherein Amber, Prince and Bambi finally had down time to reflect upon this draining and ugly experience and Amber came to realize during this time… that she was no longer the same person she was when she set out to do her research. She saw the world in a different light, she saw her relationship in a different light. One that Prince didn’t approve of. Because she wanted space and time to reflect on whether or not their love was what she wanted, or if this second chance meant a chapter had closed and a new one awaited her and that brought quite the different and open end to this story. One that saw undiscovered country await everyone involved as they made their way back home. The kind where joy and peace and renewed love might not exist, because of the violence it took to save a life and that… is a brilliant and powerful way to end this series. Since it tasks the viewer to ponder upon, while we say we would do anything to save our loved ones, are we prepared for the actual cost of such an act? For it would in fact, bring forth harm and fundamental changes to who we are and of course… it also ponders upon the nature of war, and the concept of acceptable losses. Which is broader commentary for certain, the kind that writer Mark Boal is known for. But what matters most is that at long last, a hostage themed, war story finally received an honest and raw examination. One that made it clear that heroism comes with a price and that saving a life is no easy task and can be costly, and this series deserves a round of applause for forcing us to remove the romanticization of such matters and look at this act objectively. So, we think differently about combat and the demand for action… since clearly, action comes with life-altering consequences, irrevocable ones… so perhaps we should in fact, find a better way.

There was a time, where it seemed as though the Marvel Cinematic Universe was only going to thrive on the silver screen, and understandably so. For every single MCU film that arrived in theatres, dominated the competition, and pleased fans endlessly with proper, big budget adaptations of comic book stories the fans had yearned for, for decades on end. So why not just let these event films rule the day and let that happiness reign? But Marvel Studios, headed by visionary producer Kevin Feige, wanted to do so much more with this universe, and properly highlight all of its unique stories beyond the Avengers and other well-known heroes and something magical came out of the decision to expand the MCU.
Such as MCU stories that found their way onto the small screen via Disney+, and through new animated features in theaters such as Into the Spider-Verse, so that the rich nature of the source material could be explored by all, and properly celebrated, and it even allowed for heroes that aren’t discussed enough… to have their day in the sun. Such as Moon Knight, and well, the diverse and imaginative nature of the MCU is top of mind today, simply because… another unique and enriching Marvel story, is about to arrive on the small screen. For February 10, 2023, will see Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur debut on the Disney Channel, with the first six episodes available on Disney+ on February 15. Which is an animated adaptation of Amy Reeder and Brandon Monclare’s wildly popular and acclaimed comic book series of the same name, and it is also an important and inspiring series. One that is going to receive great care in the world of television and provide its audience with wonderful meaning, and for proof… then look no further than the gifts Disney bestowed upon fans today. For earlier, Disney released a trailer, a synopsis, and even some Key-Art and a Soundtrack Pre-Save Link, to prepare fans for this wondrous series and showcase how great it is going to be, and with that in mind, here are all of those gifts to peruse as we prepare to be wowed by another incredible adaptation from a universe of storytelling that knows no bounds. ‘"Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” follows the adventures of 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette (aka Moon Girl) and her 10-ton T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur. After Lunella accidentally brings Devil Dinosaur into present-day New York City, the duo work together to protect the city's Lower East Side from danger. The series stars Diamond White as Lunella/Moon Girl; Fred Tatasciore as Devil Dinosaur; Alfre Woodard as Lunella’s grandmother, Mimi; Libe Barer as Lunella’s best friend and manager, Casey; Sasheer Zamata as Lunella’s mom, Adria; Jermaine Fowler as Lunella’s dad, James Jr.; Gary Anthony Williams as Lunella’s grandfather, Pops; and series executive producer Laurence Fishburne in the recurring role of The Beyonder, a curious and mischievous trickster. The season one guest cast includes Gideon Adlon, Pamela Adlon, Anna Akana, Ian Alexander, Alison Brie, May Calamawy, Andy Cohen, Wilson Cruz, Daveed Diggs, Asia Kate Dillon, Luis Guzmán, Maya Hawke, Jennifer Hudson, Dr. Mae Jemison, Josh Keaton, June Diane Raphael, Paul Scheer, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Cobie Smulders, Wesley Snipes and Tajinae Turner. Recurring stars include Omid Abtahi, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Michael Cimino, Indya Moore and Craig Robinson. With guest stars Jennifer Hudson and Daveed Diggs. From Disney Television Animation, the series is executive produced by Laurence Fishburne and Helen Sugland's Cinema Gypsy Productions (black-ish, grown-ish) and Emmy Award-winner Steve Loter (Kim Possible). Emmy Award-winner Rodney Clouden (Futurama) is supervising producer, Jeffrey M. Howard (Planes) and Emmy Award-winner Kate Kondell (The Pirate Fairy) are co-producers and story editors, and Pilar Flynn (Elena of Avalor) is producer.’ Written by John Edward Betancourt
Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode Two of ‘Kold x Windy’. To revisit the series premiere, click here. Also, this article contains discussions regarding domestic violence, which may be triggering to some individuals.
When we last settled in to discuss the dynamic and brilliant, WE tv series, Kold x Windy, we talked at length about how the series premiere did a wonderful job of setting the stage for a story that was going to explore the gritter side of chasing one’s dream. Such as how it isn’t some easy breezy process, and that it is in fact, tough work. The kind that sometimes requires great change, both external and internal. So, we can properly embrace what’s to come when the success starts rolling in and it is important to revisit those key concepts, simply because the next episode in this fascinating saga was quick to explore the change aspect of chasing one’s dream… and why people find that to be so difficult to embrace. For when we caught up with Malika and Renee in, ‘What You Gon’ Do?’, they were mired in personal conflict. Because both of them were struggling mightily with their current situation. After all, Renee’s mind was plagued with terrible dreams, full of implications, that were clearly grounded in Post-Traumatic Stress and trauma. But despite that… and understanding that things needed to change, and quickly, because of how hard this life was on her mind, body, and soul, she kept on course. Because this is the life she’s known through and through, and the thought of giving it up to focus on something vastly different, struck terror into her. Giving us a grand understanding of the conflict that internally arises when change is presented to us, and she wasn’t the only one that dealt with this. Because Malika also struggled with letting go and embracing her talents. In large part, because the Stains she committed to… made life quite comfortable. After all, she was raking in the dough in this particular tale, with Stains that were netting her tens of thousands of dollars. But GeGe made it clear that this life and these Stains weren’t providing her with anything worthwhile or fulfilling. The music was though, and despite still writing great tracks and learning more about music along the way, which clearly energized her… she kept to old habits, too. All of which allowed for us to learn how scary change can be to an individual. Because the thought of giving up what we know, what’s sustained us, is unfathomable at the start of the journey. Especially when we haven’t found a sense of self-worth. Because that forces us to wonder if… we even deserve what change will bring. And of course, routine, and old habits are always hard to break. Which of course begs the question, what then is the catalyst to snapping us out of those worries to move forward in a positive light? Well, as it turns out… sometimes seeing what we are capable of and enjoying a sliver of happiness from enacting change… can serve as that genesis point and these ladies that had opportunity here, courtesy of Pop. Who continued to do as he pleased and when challenged, did the one thing no man should ever do… hit a woman. Specifically, Malika in this case, and well… Renee wasn’t going to let that stand and neither was Malika and that motivated them to concoct quite the plan. One that saw Pop take the fall for the murder that Renee committed in the last episode. Giving rise to agency for both women and a fine understanding that when they aren’t happy and put their minds to it… they can enact great change in their lives. The kind that provides them with so much more. Hopefully, that lesson sticks and these two can begin to make small changes that lead to greater changes. The kind that will help them embrace their talents and their skills, and the joy and happiness and peace the dream will bring them, and that will still be no easy task. After all, doubt is a powerful influencer, and externally, the police are very curious about Kold and Windy’s dealings and are watching them closely and of course… Shelley wants revenge. But while we wait to see how our heroes handle those problems, we can bask in the wonder of another powerful tale. One that really did explore the terror that change instills and how hard it is to step away from what we know, despite having the knowledge that we need to do something different, and that only adds to the wonder of this series. One that truly is honest and real and refreshing and original and sadly… all we can do now is wait impatiently for next Thursday. So, we can see what stunning lessons await when Kold and Windy return to the airwaves. Until next time. Written by John Edward Betancourt There was a time where television and education really didn’t mix all that well. For so many saw T.V. as a strictly entertainment based medium. The kind that would allow for people to just kick back and enjoy some laughs and fun stories after a long day’s work. A reality that pushed actual educational shows to specific networks and time slots, to not interfere with that experience. But as the years have rolled along and everyone has come to discover how television is a far more powerful medium than was originally given credit, that stance has changed. In fact, television is now often viewed as a wonderful way to educate children and anyone willing to learn. Since its flexibility from a storytelling standpoint allows for it to tell stories that can be both entertaining and educational and with the streaming era now upon us… educational shows are being embraced and are popping up left and right, and one network that is leading the way with this type of entertainment is Apple TV+. For they continue to release shows that inspire and teach and promote discussion in the household, and their ability to continue to impress with this kind of content is top of mind today, simply because… another quality project in that vein is about to arrive on the network. For earlier today, Apple TV+ announced the release date and cast roster for the upcoming series, Jane. A show designed to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Jane Goodall and of course, to teach children about the wonder of our world and the incredible life that we share it with, and the importance of using our intelligence and ingenuity and outright prowess, to preserve that life and the various biospheres wildlife resides within. Which is an ambitious educational project for sure, but one that Apple TV+ has undoubtedly figured out how to bring to life in a compelling and engaging manner, and to give you an idea of how incredible this project is going to be, here are all the details on this series, and that release date and roster, courtesy of Apple TV+. ‘Apple TV+ today unveiled the launch date and cast for “Jane,” a new 10-episode mission-driven series for kids and families inspired by the work of Dr. Jane Goodall. Simply because, the network had spoken, and because of the ratings or cost or whatever reason was deemed necessary… that was that. The show was done and would only live on via the memories of its fans or on home video when it finally arrived on cassette, DVD or Blu Ray. But as the years have rolled along and television’s structure has evolved, something quite incredible has started to happen when a show is cancelled by its original network. In that, it doesn’t necessarily stay cancelled. Because sometimes, a show that didn’t quite fit the mold at one network, might work better on another one. So that other network is happy to take the show under their wing and renew it. A move that keeps the fans happy and keeps the creative individuals that worked so hard to bring this story to life, a chance to keep it going and hopefully bring their vision to its logical conclusion and well, that particular quirk about modern television is top of mind today, simply because it is about to happen again. For last year, the critically acclaimed comedy series, Minx, was cancelled by its original host network. Much to the chagrin of audiences and critics alike. But after careful consideration, STARZ realized it would fit better on their network and made quite the move. For earlier today, they announced that the show is moving to STARZ for its second season, and season one will find its way to the app as well. Caution: This article contains spoilers for the series finale of ‘Litvinenko’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
One particular aspect of the judicial system that is extremely difficult to reconcile, is that sometimes… justice is not served. It could be because a jury of peers deems the accused to be not guilty, or perhaps a technicality had the case thrown out. But regardless of what the reason is, it is supremely hard to understand that justice won’t be served. For we put all our faith in the system and to see it fail is shocking and heartbreaking and emotional and can leave us beside ourselves when it happens. To the point where we don’t know what is next for us since we expected the system to make us whole at last. If anything, that failure is top of mind today, simply because… it befell the Litvinenko family in the series finale of Litvinenko. Which was devastating to say the least, since it seemed early on in this tale, justice was going to be served. Since all of the detailed documents and incredible work that Clive’s team assembled, was turned over to the United Kingdom’s prosecution services out of the belief that extradition and trial would follow. Which brought Marina great joy, since at last… Sasha would have justice. But alas, the Russian Federation made it clear that its citizens would not be extradited for a murder trial, especially one they claimed they had no part in and just like that… the case was over. Because there were no resources that could be put toward it further and that… stunned dear Marina. For she was expecting peace and well, this did not sit right with her. Because she wanted justice, and she was wounded that the British Government was so quick to throw up their hands in an ‘oh well’ manner. Which is where an exploration of what do we do when justice isn’t served, got underway. For Marina decided… she would have justice by any means necessary, so she obtained council from a brilliant solicitor who took the time to use the human angle of this case, specifically the fact that an innocent British Citizen was murdered to satisfy the ego of a pathetic and weak despot named Putin, to try and convince the government to hold a grand inquiry. One that would have consequences of some kind for ol’ Vlad. But even that, went nowhere. There just seemed to be no appetite to bring justice forward for Sasha. But that still didn’t sit right with Marina. For she believed, there had to be some kind of justice for Sasha. Something that would make her family whole again and honor his memory and hold Putin to the fire for his twisted and cowardly actions. And since she had nothing to lose, she figured perhaps the time had come, to call out Prime Minister Theresa May and the international community for letting this whole matter be forgotten. Because they were wrong to do so, because they in essence, let a tiny man with a giant ego do as he pleased with no accountability and who was to say he wouldn’t hurt more people in this manner by not being called to task? And oddly enough, her call to arms worked, and a real inquiry was held, and accountability came into play at last. Granted it wasn’t perfect. Since all that really came of it was having Putin’s name attached as the man who ordered the death of Alexander ‘Sasha’ Litvinenko. But for a guy like him, that’s more than enough punishment. All of which taught us… that when the system fails us, to not let that be the end. Because justice can come forth in other forms. After all, if multiple crimes were committed there are other legal avenues that can be pursued, and as evidenced by Marina’s actions near the end of this tale, few things are more powerful than the court of public opinion, when used the right way, and well… this was, a supremely satisfying way to bring this harrowing story to a close. Because at long last, there was justice for Sasha, and you know damn well… being found as the culprit of his death haunts Putin. Because guys like that, can’t stand that kind of perception, and that makes one feel better for certain, as does now having a complete understanding of this important moment in human history. Since this series did show that while the little man at the Kremlin didn’t topple from his throne, he got his. Because there are still heroes in this world that tirelessly work to keep men like Vlad… from getting too big for their britches. Please enjoy this sneak peek from the season finale of Echo 3, which debuts on Apple TV+, tomorrow, 1/13/2023. Written by John Edward Betancourt
Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 304 of ‘Jack Ryan’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
It is definitely safe to say that this season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan on Prime Video, has been a season unlike any other for the show. Because the first three episodes of this series have not only flipped the script on how spy and espionage stories are told, but it has also opted to really take its time with the story. Allowing for a slow burn to take place, one that is quietly setting the chess pieces upon the board, and well, we’ve all been wondering… why? Because this just isn’t how the show operates. This is a series that likes to wow us often, and it has been jarring to see the series slow down so much. But there is of course, a rhyme and a reason to go this route. One that is designed, to basically lull us into a false sense of security so that all of the plot threads that we’ve been settling into, can be escalated in a tense and unique manner, which in turn is designed to lead us to something more. Which ‘Our Death’s Keeper’ revealed to us, by having those escalations play out. Take for instance the whole plot with Luka. Who confronted Petrov about his plans to rattle the saber a bit, as part of his own plan to gain leverage over Petrov and his associates through… disruption. Because giving them something else to worry about could potentially delay the launch of Sokol out of paranoia. In fact, he’s so committed to this plan of disruption, that he is even taking lives after gaining confessions to really strike fear into Petrov and his lackeys. Which while brilliant, comes with great tension and danger. Because it could also backfire and move the timetable up. Because the possibility of being exposed could be enough to force Petrov to go for broke and unleash Sokol upon the world. But that wasn’t the only plotline filled with tension and possibility, for the whole matter in the Czech Republic was ramped up as well. Courtesy of the fact that Greer was not satisfied with the win he achieved in the last episode. For having Patriot missile batteries on Czech soil wasn’t enough. He wanted all the players involved in the assassination and that pushed him to investigate Radek and Petr, and he played a most dangerous game with both men in this tale. Since he took the time to be near them and read them and play nice in a manner that was both uncomfortable and daring, and already… this particular plot thread is accelerating into something darker and more. Since his investigation of Radek’s home was one reason the special agent panicked, and he may potentially hurt the President as a result of his worry. As for Jack, well… his plot thread set that worrisome moment in motion. Because he knew he needed actionable intelligence to curry favor with CIA at last, and that brought he and Mike to Budapest to talk with the arms dealer that was moving Sokol into position. Which went poorly at first since we came to learn he is a paranoid dude that takes every last precaution. But… when you play into that paranoia and ramp up the pressure on a man like that, eventually, you get what you want. Because they did just that and were able to get him to flee to the safehouse they were staying in, to get that location. One that Jack quickly sent to Wright in the hopes of showing her he’s not a criminal and that a real threat awaits. But of course, having the dealer in hand, and silent, spooked Petr who called Radek, who flipped out after that call over the reality that he was on the radar. All of which made for an episode, that truly began to turn up the heat on all the plot threads we’ve been settling into over the past few episodes. Because just like that, there’s worry in Russia, the bad guys are nervous and Sokol might finally be exposed. Giving rise to a potential change of pace for the story. Since such moves can escalate everything further, and likely will. Because this is a hardcore spy drama for certain, one that always features explosive finales and that is what this slow burning first half of the season has been all about. To properly set the stage and the stakes for a dynamic back half, one that will undoubtedly culminate in a stunning finale and well, that makes this slow first half quite brilliant in nature since it has manipulated us, and it will be interesting to see how quickly things begin to spiral out of control as season three barrels toward its explosive ending. Until next time. Written by John Edward Betancourt
Caution: This article contains spoilers for Episode 206 of ‘Leverage: Redemption’. To revisit the previous episode, click here.
One particular question that is often on our minds in this day and age, is what does it take to make a hero? And we ponder upon that question because well… the world needs far more of them right now, but also out of pure curiosity. Because obviously, it takes a certain mindset to do what heroes do. Since they often face real danger to their physical and mental well-being in the name of preserving that for others and if we knew the formula… perhaps we could easily see more people inspired to dedicate their lives to heroism and well, this question is top of mind today, simply because it was explored in a supremely unique manner in the next episode of the Amazon Freevee series, Leverage: Redemption. But before we dive into that… let’s take a moment and quickly recap the plot of ‘The Fractured Job’. Because it is important to note that Team Leverage went all out in defeating an evil politician that was backing a fracking company to line his pockets, constituents be damned. For that is a plot line that perfectly fits this series, and it took some wonderful work from every member of the team, including a cameo from Hardison, to expose this slimy politician for who he really was and save a supremely important town from destruction. For it is that town that oddly, motivated the exploration of heroism in this tale. For it was more than just an Oklahoma berg that resembled something out of a Norman Rockwell painting, it was in fact… Eliot’s hometown. The place where he grew up, and it was in this place that he became a hero. For honor and kindness are the edicts that his father lived by during Eliot’s childhood, and in present day as well… and Eliot soaked that up when he was a boy. For he saw the way everyone looked at his father, and he too admired him greatly and wanted nothing more to be like him. And that pushed him hard to be a better man, one that observed the way of the world and how it treated innocent people and that in turn, motivated him to join up and sacrifice so much to help those in need since he saw how the innocent suffered and that is… a simple but incredible way to explain how heroes are made. For all it really takes is a great foundation, one that inspires, and perhaps more kindness in the world would be the equally as simple solution to creating more heroes in these trying times. But what made this episode so worth our while, is what it took the time to explore beyond Eliot’s genesis point as a hero. For this story also made it clear that his sacrifice in becoming a hero, was leaving his father and family behind, and denying his father’s wishes to not follow in his military footsteps. Because that in turn, created a rift, one that only grew when his mom died, since Eliot’s time away didn’t allow for him to come home. And the whole of Eliot’s voyage home, was to mend those fences and apologize for his choice and tell his dad… how much he admired and loved him and still looked to him for inspiration every single day. Which added stunning depth to Eliot and this story quite frankly, since this transformed it into a beautiful parable about family, the ties that bind us and how regardless of how they sometimes become strained, they can never… ever… be broken. All of which made this… one of the finest episodes to ever grace the franchise. Simply because, this was just a powerful story through and through, one that was sold by two key actors here. Keith David, who played Billy Spencer and Christian Kane. Since they made that connection feel real and offered the perfect balance of emotions here and truly, it is Christian that steals the show in this episode with some of his finest work to date as an actor. For he truly moves us in a realistic manner that we relate to and downright get misty eyed over. If anything, this just goes to show that this series is evolving into something so much more, a powerful character study of sorts, and that is quite wonderful to say the least. For this was a beautiful story through and through, one that truly reminds us to cherish family and never miss the opportunity to tell them how much we love them and how much they mean to us and with that in mind, it’s on to the next wondrous adventure from this magnificent series. Shortly after this writer takes a moment to call his dad and follow his own advice. Until next time. AMC Networks Acquires Rights to ‘Bannerman’ Spy Book Series to Develop as Potential TV Series1/10/2023 Written by John Edward Betancourt One would think that novels and television shows have minimal ties since their formats are so vastly different. But the fact of the matter is, they are symbiotic in nature. For the book world often provides the television world with a steady feed of stories, the kind that allow for popular and iconic novels to come to life on the small screen and that unique relationship between books and television is only getting stronger as this era of peak television continues. For networks need shows and authors and producers are happy to explore what novels, both new and iconic, will translate to T.V. Land, and it just so happens that AMC Networks made a move today to potentially bring an iconic book series to life on the small screen. For earlier today, AMC Networks announced that it has acquired the rights to John Maxim’s wildly popular and iconic Bannerman book series in the hopes of developing it into a television series and that some brilliant minds are in charge of making of that happen. Since prolific writer Shane Black and mega-producer/director and horror icon Greg Nicotero, and noted horror producer Brian Witten, are the brain trust putting this together and well, here are all the details on this wondrous announcement and some quotes from some the brain trust, regarding this important acquisition. 'AMC Networks today announced that it has acquired the rights to the popular Bannerman spy book series written by bestselling author John Maxim. The novels are being developed as a potential television series by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, Ironman), Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead, Creepshow) and Brian Witten (Creepshow, Friday the 13th). Jeffrey Maxim is also attached as a consulting producer. Nicotero has an overall deal with AMC Networks. The book series consists of five titles: the Bannerman Solution, The Bannerman Effect, Bannerman’s Law, Bannerman’s Promise and Bannerman’s Ghosts. Black said: “Maxim is an untapped national treasure, and AMC provides a proper fit. It’s time.” Nicotero said: “I read this entire series years ago and found the contrasting worlds of these dark and tortured souls desperate to live normal lives quite compelling. To partner with Shane on this, who shares the same passion that I do for the books, takes this project to a whole other level.” Bannerman Solution synopsis: Paul Bannerman was once his nation’s deadliest weapon – a top covert operative heading up the most lethal group of contract agents and network specialists in all of Europe. Now Bannerman is a liability – an unpredictable loose cannon that could irreparably damage America’s shaky intelligence structure, if he chose to. So the decision has come down from the top: Bannerman and his people must be eliminated. Suddenly death is running in Westport, Connecticut – one in a nationwide network of secret “halfway towns” where the country’s most dangerous former agents have been “retired.” At war with powerful elements within his own government – a war not of his making – Bannerman has been lured here to this place of yard sales, mini-vans, commuter trains, and murder. The plan is for Bannerman and those he ran to die here, quietly. But Bannerman has other plans. The Maxims are represented by attorney Robert Benun of BenunLaw.
