It was another opportunity to learn more about our favorite characters in The Walking Dead as Sunday's episode took us on a journey with Daryl and Beth as they continue to survive in the wake of the fall of the prison. So what did we learn this week? Find out as we recap "Still".
The Good: The best part of the night was all things Daryl Dixon. We finally learned more about the man behind the angel wings and all of that made for awesome television. We finally discovered what Daryl did before the end of the world and most importantly we saw more of his pure badassery when he took down several walkers by hand and one piece by piece by golf club. This was also the episode that showed off more of Daryl's ability to adapt and think quickly when he locked himself and Beth in the trunk of a car to escape walkers and we all know it was his influence to scavenge the specific items that they did from said car to continue to survive.
The Bad: Sadly, the rest of the episode did not hold a flame to the Daryl Dixon parts as Beth decided she wanted a drink and well, Daryl went along with it. Beth made a lot of poor choices and quite frankly, they made sense but just seemed silly. I understand this was part of her grieving process but what a damn dangerous way to grieve. In fact, this is the first time I didn't fully enjoy an episode of The Walking Dead because in the end, this episode didn't do much to advance the plot or give us anything incredible this week, which I found surprising. This is also the first time I really haven't liked Beth. Granted she hasn't had a whole lot to do since her introduction to the show, but her one opportunity came down to wanting booze. Disappointing.
The Verdict: A messy, uneven and unsatisfying episode of my favorite show. This one left me unfulfilled and I just have to forget about this one and hope next week gets us back on track.
