THIS IS THE EMERGENCY SPOILER ALERT SYSTEM...YOU ARE ADVISED TO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...
The dangers of a world filled with the living dead continue to plague the survivors of the Battle of the Prison as they either try to find a safe haven or one another and this week on The Walking Dead was a nail biting, edge of your seat episode as we watched Maggie continue her hunt for Glenn while Daryl and Beth keep looking for a place to catch their breath. So without further ado, let's get down to our recap of last night's episode; "Alone".
The Good: This episode left me feeling completely and utterly exhausted by the end of it for good reason, it was an intense and terrifying ride. In fact, I no longer like fog at all after watching Bob, Sasha and Maggie battle the living dead with fog surrounding them. In fact this week the majority of the big situations involving a walker was straight up something out of our nightmares and it made for great television. We also got a great look at who Bob Stookey really is in what was possibly the saddest opening to a television show in the history of ever. This is the first time all season I've actually liked Bob now that we have an idea the hell this poor guy has been through. I also loved the creepy touches in the mortician's house and the the terror that came with it. I mean, Beth has been kidnapped, and we still have no idea why the dead are being cared for in that place. That whole segment was a pleasant little surprise. The other part I liked about this episode, was the sheer tension that is building toward the season finale. The signs for Terminus, the panic and desperation that seems to permeate everything. This is just fantastic television.
The Bad: I'm not liking the character direction for Beth. I get she is young and dumb...but the dumb is getting out of hand. Beth makes a lot of bad choices. Last week was bad choice after bad choice and this week it led to her ankle injury and I'm just done with it. Either kill her off or give her a purpose, enough of the silliness.
The Verdict: I was damn impressed with this episode. We are headed toward an explosive season finale and I'm loving how much scary they packed into an hour this time around.
