Written by ShaeEvery once in a while, you find that amazing place where you can feel at home. A place where all the things you could possibly imagine, and more, are on endless shelves. Well, if you live in the great state of Colorado, you are in luck. Time Warp Comics is located in Boulder, and is one of he best comic shops that I have ever had the pleasure of going to. I first discovered this place when my friend Dan took me there. He had been coming for a long time and thought it would be right up my alley. So, we went and I got to shop for Mattie's birthday. Which, I later forgot about the Deadpool comics I bought her until nearly a month after her birthday, but that's besides the point. The first thing to notice in the shop is the large statue cases right by the front door. The amount of statues and busts that is there for purchase is so gorgeous, I wish I was able to buy them all. Thankfully, they have a statue or bust for everyone. From Marvel to DC to everything in between, there's even a lot of various other comic statues and ones I didn't even know were in statue form. Like The Walking Dead! There is this gorgeous Michonne statue that I want for my dining room table. I'm not even joking right now. They also have a lot of plushes for you anime fans. It's hard not to buy all of those. Of course, they have Pops figures, which we all know is one of my major addictions. And of course, the selection of action figures there are so vast, it's hard pick a single one. Believe me, it's even harder to not pick several. Venture beyond that, however, and there is a whole other world waiting to be discovered. Rows of comics in sleeves, waiting to be plucked and read, all sit in an alluring array. Shelves lined with books of all kinds, beg to be read. There is a section dedicated to the newest comics, and the rest is waiting to be searched for those long lost gems most stores simply don't have. With so much to choose from, there is no argument of Marvel or DC, just wonderful and beautiful comics. There are so many comics, the shelves are made of thick sheets of wood held up by cinderblocks; it's a unique way to hold all those comics! Beyond the comics on the shelves; the figures hung on the wall; the posters in the back; there are also the people that work there. Kind, outgoing people who are as in love with this store as the people who come in, make Time Warp that much more special. It's a store that feels as welcoming as a friends house, with a staff as warm as those very friends we have. If you're looking for a comic shop to call home, this is my absolute favorite place to go. For me, the drive is well worth it. I could get lost in that store, and often have spent many an hour there.
